This used to be one of my favorite place for authentic Hong Kong style food before the pandemic. I heard that they closed during COVID and thought that was the end of it. Then a friend mentioned that they in fact re-opened but is now under different owner. I decided to check it out to see if food still delicious.

I went to have dinner on a Saturday, the place is about 2/3 full. We were quickly seated and first thing I noticed was the menu is now much better looking with pictures. We ordered the Seafood chow mein with crispy noodle, Fujian Fried Rice and the Salt and Pepper Fish.

Food was served reasonably quick. The Salt and pepper fish is done perfectly, and they did not skim on the quantity either, 5/5. Seafood chow mein with crispy noodle, this is one of my favorite dish. The noodle is fried crispy through and through and the seafood sauce (broth) over it to soak in all the flavor, 5/5. The Fujian Fried Rice is a bit of let down. Maybe this is a different interpretation of it? It's a bit different from what I remembered but still very good taste. The dish consists of a basic egg fried rice topped with a mixture of meat, seafood, vegetables, and sauce, 4.5/5. Overall, we were very happy with the food.

When we asked for the bill and to-go box, the lady (I am guessing it's the owner?) volunteered to pack the food for us, which was nice. Great authentic HK style food at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We have been going since 2011. I have brought tons of friends and family here over the years, and many people come on their own after they come the first time.

We have celebrated special occasions and events there, and they are always gracious and helpful. Also we have catered from there (they package in catering trays if you order 4 of the same things).

We have a ton of family favorites:
      - Mushu pork
      - Seafood crispy noodles (pork or chicken also good)
      - Seafood clay pot (vegetarian also delish - but ask for no oyster sauce)
      - Shrimp steamed tofu
      - Mongolian beef
      - Honey walnut shrimp

Great place for large groups since they have 10 to 12 people tables. We have brought 30+ people before.

Walking in, there's this giant seating area with plenty of people at the time I was there. Very decent food here for the price. The portion size was large -- quality is nothing to write home about, but what did you expect for how cheap it is compared to the area.

Service was what you'd expect at a stereotypical Chinese restaurant: understandably a little rushed and chippy, but still solid.

Came here for brunch, ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup and Mapo Tofu, and of course, rice. Although there were many diners, the service was fast, staff was polite. The restaurant itself was elegant, clean, and spacious. Food was good quality and flavorful. I liked both dishes, especially Mapo Tofu, spice level was on point!

OMG this place was fantastic. While we are spoiled in the Bay Area (I mean if you wan specific region Asian cuisine its just a matter of a 20 minute care ride, I will always have a soft spot for the generalized Chinese food of the 70's and early 80's that I grew up on. This place really hit that nostalgic spot 100%

Prawns: This was fantastic. Tasty prawns in a sweet sour sauce with plenty of onions. This dish hit on all notes.

Beef with Green beans: Tender pieces of beef with a savory sauce. The green beans added a nice crunch to the dish.

Pot Stickers: Tasty pork stuffing with nicely crisp pot stickers area always a winner. The vinegary dipping sauce was the perfect counter

The restaurant changed to a new owner this year. Nice restaurant for family gatherings. Reservations highly recommended on the weekends. One of our favorite Cantonese restaurants in Palo Alto. All dishes are delicious, well-balanced dishes with generous amount of ingredients. We wish that the restaurant would consider choosing a better quality of pork chops (the pork chops have lots of bone less meat in them - very disappointing!) otherwise all dishes have great flavors.

This is our go to place. Quality food served quickly. Beef stew clay pot.9/10 tender meat but daikon was not tender. Shrimp with snap peas were great 10/10. Beef chow fun 6/10. Bland, lacking flavor, seasoning and wok hei. Lacking vegetables and The dish appeared plain. Salt and pepper pork 7/10. Perfectly fried and served right out of the fryer. 6/10 The taste of baking soda is prevalent instead of the pork. Service was outstanding and tea service is very good. Oranges for dessert is a nice touch. Will be back to try other dishes.

Hong Kong Restaurant is a true mom and pop shop in Palo Alto. Their extensive menu has a variety options from clay pot dishes to the typical fried rice and chow mein.

I called to order a lunch special item to go. The man may not have understood me well or we had connection issues. He shared that the pork spareribs were not available. I assumed it was because the lunch specials are not available on weekends. Thus, I ordered the Roasted Duck with Rice instead. However, when I arrived, he told me the restaurant could make the pork spareribs... I'm not that upset. English may not be his first language but the man still provided great service.

The roasted duck was wonderful. It was authentic Chinese food. Though, the cuts and portions were smaller than I preferred. The plate also came with bokchoy and rice.

I will most likely go back and try a seating experience. I was in awe how packed the restaurant was on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

I've been coming here for years, and it's been a Cantonese staple! I always like the Singapore chow mein and beef chow fun. You can't go wrong with the soy sauce chicken or tofu either.
