House of Wax

The ambiance was really cool wish I'd come on a day they had a show. Regardless the drinks were also really good.

That's the interesting spot with all the different wax figures & a bat right next to the movie theatre . I don't think they had any food, but the drinks are pretty strong so that was decent.

I came to House of Wax for a private event with Alamo Drafthouse. As many times as I've gone to AD, I'm surprised that I've never gone to House of Wax. It's on the fourth floor near the escalators to the theaters. It's kinda dark inside which gives a speakeasy vibe. I ordered the raspberry bramble. I never had one before but it was really good, so much so that I ordered another one. They have a vast selection of beers and the service was quick. I was closer to the entrance but to the front, there's an area where bands can play music, which is where the live entertainment was playing. It seems like a cool spot, I would check out again.

I stopped by to get a drink before catching a movie and ordered an amaretto sour. The female bartender asked me the ingredients of the drink giving the impression she didn't know how to make it. She stated she wasn't sure if there was any amaretto and asked another employee.

There was just enough amaretto to make my drink which was barely a drink.

I paid and sat at the bar...

She really had the audacity to ask me with an attitude why was there no gratuity added to the bill.

I was going to tip in cash but since she annoyingly snatched my glass and questioned me... I would never!!!!

This place is located on the 4th floor of the mall, head towards the entrance of the movie theatre and you will see a sign that says "House of Wax"! It's a wax museum x cocktail lounge and gives off a cool, speakeasy ambiance. You should be able to sit down without a reservation just fine as there's plenty of seating.

Our waitor was friendly and accommodating, and had great energy to give off on a Friday night

I ordered the Anatomical Venus - a fruity and tropical drink that makes you feel like you're on vacation in Bali lol. cocktails are averagely priced for nyc/brooklyn at $14 ea. If you're not a cocktail person, they also have an extensive draft/brew menu.

Next time, I would come watch a movie @ the Alamo Draft House next door, then finish off the night with drinks here.

Rating is pretty much based on the convenience of hitting a bar before or after seeing a movie at the Alamo. Unless I were seeing a movie, I don't think I would ever come here since it's on the 5th floor above Trader Joe's, Target, etc.

I liked the bar itself - the selection of beers is good and service was quick. The décor is all wax busts and body parts, so that's pretty unsettling unless you're into that.

First, this isn't a destination bar exactly. It's tucked onto the top floor of City Point Brooklyn, by the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

But it's cool, creepy, morbid, and you probably won't find anything else like it.

The drinks are dark and moody, but still light and refreshing. I particularly liked The Wolf (20% ABV). They also have a large beer selection and non-alcoholic cocktails. Various gin, vodka, whiskey cocktails with a large array of herbs and flavorful accompaniments.

The wax figures are the real reason to come here. Curated by Ryan Cohn, of Oddities fame, it's full of bizarre, macabre, grotesque figures. Anatomical specimens, death masks, medical maladies. There is a warning at the door that some might find it disturbing.

It wasn't crowded at all around 6 PM this Friday. The bartenders were attentive, efficient, and courteous. No food is served, but you're near a huge food court, so eat before or after you come.

Again, not a destination, but worth at least one stop for fun drinks, horror movies, and a unique wax museum experience.

The wax museum is a bar, which had great drinks. The service was great, and the workers were very friendly. I loved the wax figures at the entrance.

This one is a favorite- for anyone who loves campy yet still cute halloween decor - many of their drinks are delicious and they do serve food. Great ambiance and perfect place to spend some time before enjoying a movie

We came here on a hot day just to get some drinks and talk and I am so glad we did. It was such a cool experience. We sat at the bar and the bartenders made sure that we are having a good time. I had the anatomical Venus and I fell in love. It was sweet and tangy and gave me a nice little buzz.

Most of the people were waiting for their movies to start and the employees for Alamo came down to let you know what movies were being seated at the time.

I love the wax figures and it made me feel like I was having drinks at a museum. Overall great experience, ambiance great, customer service amazing. I will definitely come back and probably catch a movie.
