Impel Moving

I had a fantastic experience with Impel Moving, from beginning to end. I will definitely use them again for future moves and recommend them to folks I know.

I moved from a 1 bedroom apartment to another 1 bedroom apartment in my neighborhood. I had a few large and heavy pieces that I was worried about--including a Cal King bed, frame/headboard, and sofa. After getting a quote on Yelp and then calling to reserve, I was assured that the team could handle it. The booking process was easy and everything was made clear up front. The quote was fair and comparable to other moving companies.

My movers arrived within their arrival window. They took extreme care in wrapping, packaging, and transporting my items. Even my elderly parents were impressed--with my mom wanting to use Impel for if she ever moves. The movers worked quick to pack up at my old place, and unload at my new place. Nothing was damaged. They were very friendly and communicative throughout the move. It made moving so much easier, and I couldn't be more grateful to Impel.

As someone that was a mover here in the Bay Area for 2 years, I've seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly when it comes to moving companies. I'd give Impel an 11/10 if I could!

We had a 1 bed/ 1 bath that was moved across town. They showed up on time, kept an extremely accurate time clock, moved all of our items with care (not a single thing broken or ding'd!), and we're incredibly polite throughout the process.

The initial booking procedure was super professional as well. In about 10 minutes they had given me an accurate quote, and confirmed several times leading up to the actual move. As someone that has been a part of and on the receiving end of nightmare moving experiences, the whole experience was so refreshing.

Anyways, these guys are awesome, and don't forget to tip your bartenders, tattoo artists, and movers super generously :)

Throughout the years I've hired several moving companies in SF and Marin and this was by far the best one.

They showed up on time, were very friendly and well-mannered, and super careful in moving boxes and furniture (including a very heavy treadmill that had to pass through a very narrow door).

There were no surprises with the bill at the end (which instead I had several times with other movers) and the price was extremely good for the Bay Area.

I had an extremely awful experience with Impel moving today. They are the slowest movers I have ever hired. I have moved 7 times in SF and this is the first time that it took them over 7 hrs to move me, it was unbelievable how slow they were. All these reviews are fake. I also fell for them and they turned out to be pretty bad. My apartment is 500 sqft and I was slammed a bill of over 1000 dollars with extra packing materials I didn't even ask for. Obviously I tipped lesser and the movers freaked out and they didn't see their own fault.
Horrible horrible experience and this is after yesterday when they were supposed to show up at 2 and they told me at 3 that they would arrive at 4. Please save yourselves

I had a *great* experience moving with Impel! The guys were friendly and efficient, while still taking great care of my stuff. I have more than 50 houseplants, and they got them all packed up and moved safely. They were patient with me when there were logistical hiccups with the apartment I moved to, and overall it was a great experience. I'll definitely hire them again.

Second time moving in San Francisco with Impel and have nothing but great things to say about their professionalism and attention to detail. Good value, good customer service.

I've used many movers since moving throughout the bay area, specifically, in san francisco, and this move was different, less stressful, and easy due to the guys who Impel sent to help with the move. they were on-time, pleasant, kind, and took direction well. I also wanted to thank them both for just being good human beings who eased my internal stress of moving, which i did not want to be obvious especially when moving out of one of the city's most undesirable locations (tenderloin). thank you impel for being attentive to my questions, my heads up, and communicating. i strongly and highly recommend impel! will def use them again without any question.

I needed help moving my nephew for college. They moved him about 160 miles away and they moved all the heavy items couch, desks, kitchen, chairs, etc. they assembled the couch and the kitchen chairs and the desk everyone I've talked to has been so nice, very helpful and willing to share information or helpful tips. I will definitely recommend this company. The price was very reasonable. I checked several other companies for comparative pricing. they were the best. The two gentleman to helped me move were super nice. I will definitely call them for any moving help I need in the future.

Let me tell you .. in a nut shell, save yourself time and hire this team.

My family and I moved this weekend. We were leaving a four bedroom home with two young kids. I am not a hoarder and I generally keep things pretty minimum but you do not realize how much stuff you have until you start filling boxes. I am old now and so are my friends so gone are the days I rent a U haul and solicit my friends with beer and pizza. It's hard enough juggling packing and young kids.

I contacted atleast a dozen moving places via Yelp. Save your time and research, I did it. Some were outrageously priced but Impel and a couple of others were in the same ballpark. I have learned all moving companies will charge you a minimum of 3 hrs. You can choose between 3 or 4 movers (more movers, more money, but may be faster?) Impel had solid positive reviews here on Yelp. I met w/ Dennis via zoom and he was very professional, patient, and realistic.

I had this silly thought that everything was going to be done in one trip and be less than 3 hours. I was WRONG. I had a lot of stuff ... the movers were professional, on time, and MOVING. No pun intended =P They followed my wants and asked clarifying questions when something needed additional discussion. Nothing was damaged.

We finished in the 5 hour range I think? I don't even remember anymore. This is with ME bringing just about EVERYTHING to the garage and wrapping furniture and TV's.

I was happy with the entire situation. I don't intend to move again... EVER. These folks are legit.

Impel did a really great job. Showed up on time, worked hard and fast. No problems. I highly recommend them.
