Our gym has a full range of equipment. The staff is helpful. If they supplied towels I'd give them another star.

The vents for the a/c and heating are filthy. Several members have been trying for months to get them to clean them. This is a health hazard. I have contacted corporate twice and the manager several times. They say the know about it but nothing is ever done. Very disturbing and unhealthy.

We love CA-FIT and now In-Shape, but I gotta tell you, the Corporate Office non lack of response, really stinks. I thought after the 2 merged, the customer service at the corporate office would improve, but all you get is the run around, just like we have been getting for the past 20 years with Cal-Fit. So why does the corporate office exist or do because all I have experienced is what they don't do, which is "anything & everything"? When you email the generic email address, you get a response stating, we will get back to your shortly. Three weeks of hearing nothing but silence, you try to call them and you get stuck in this automated voice mail cycle that eventually disconnects the call.

In recent years, membership fees have gone up, but quality is gone down. The gym is filthy and the pool is often closed. The hot tub is frequently out of service and often looks pretty unpleasant.

They also took away our perks, which is frustrating as a long-time membership (I have so many points saved up). Previously, we earned points for attending classes, which could be redeemed for various perks, including the ability to gift a free month to a friend. Now, the rewards are just trivial items like low-quality branded backpacks and hats.

They've made numerous changes to the class lineup, removing many of our favorite sessions. Their advertising is misleading too--often listing classes with instructors who aren't qualified to teach them. When you show up, the class format rarely matches the description.

It's disheartening to see such a decline, especially after being a long-time member and loving the place. It feels like a classic case of "late stage capitalism" and I really wish they hadn't sold out to InShape.

Terrible gym. The hey need to extend the hours at the beautiful down town location and close the Dilapidated Alhambra location. You can't rely on them to have their regular amenities. It's always hit or miss. I was hope there were going to be positive changes getting rid of Cal Fit, but unfortunately there haven't been any improvements.

This company has never responded to one of my negative yelp reviews and has never reply to my emails.

Aside from a few of the desk staff, this company has horrible customer service.

I've been a member of Cal family fitness at different locations for a very long time. Unfortunately, this location is not my favorite. The parking is absolutely horrible as the parking lot is being shared with several office buildings. This location is rather small and equipment is somewhat dated. Once I joined, it was really hard to get assistance with equipment from the staff. I was told it was best to schedule an appt if I had questions on equipment. The fitness areas are small and often very crowded. I'm hopeful that someday they will move into a bigger building.

The building is old, has limited classes, and needs better customer service. Parking is bad and the equipment needs to be updated. The pool only has two lanes that you can use because the swim school uses two lanes, and the first lane has a three-foot ladder that takes up a third of the lane. The fitness area is so tiny and crowded that you can't move during class. The front desk staff can be rude.

Everything is broken in this gym. The lockers suck and I have to request a master key from the front desk everything I use them. I got yelled at for going under the roped off section for a training session with 1 person at 6 pm taking up the entire multi purpose room. One of the trainers told me to stay out during a session,all I did was grab a ball not even close to where they were working out. I mean to tie up an entire room at 6 pm and every machine is taken or broken... Not all In shape locations suck but this one is pretty lame.

This gym has gone downhill. On top of them cutting hours AGAIN, half of the machines are broken. There's spiderwebs everywhere and dust on the machines. You always have to wait in line for everything, even weights no matter what time it is. Apparently locker rooms were "remodeled" they're still junk! Some bathroom stalls don't have locks. Never soap in any dispensers. You'll be lucky if you have toilet paper. A lot of treadmills don't work. Greedy owners sure have time to raise dues but can't fix anything. I would rather switch to planet fitness at this point. This gym is a filthy disaster.
