Great pass through space from one area of town to another. I went through it a dozen or so times.
Lots of typical mall type places. I got a new hat at Lids. They printed a scuba flag on the front. They offer a luau frequently. Rental car options. Food court. I really enjoyed the Hawaiian banyan tree on one end. There was a duck family living there, which I enjoyed watching each visit.

Car is in the shop...so I am trying to kill time, and play tourist in Waikiki.
Target is still pending...new shops have invariably popped up.
Visited Kona Coffee Purveyors and Mituswa Marketplace: the former bustling, as per usual, while the latter was kinda empty as it was before 1100.

Kona Coffee Purveyors...line outside of their entrance in the morning, as per usual. Apple cinnamon scone was good, neither too sweet nor too dry. Cortado was good as well.
Went to Lids ( sort of) they were closed though their opening hours are listed at 1000.Apr 18, 2021Previous reviewNewly renovated a few years ago, International Market Place houses a variety of restaurants, shops, and boutiques.
Convenient parkng garage. Entrance is just past Sak's on Kuhio Ave. Automated pay machines. Validation with a minimum purchase of $10 at a tenant gets a free first hour of parking.
Not every store has reopened, e.g. Goma Tei. And the Food Hall is newly renamed the Kuhio Ave. Food Hall; there are at least two eateries ( I have yet to have a gander ) in La Piña Cantina and Banzai Burger.
I usually visit Kona Coffee Purveyors and Mitsuwa Marketplace. The latter has a Kama'aina discount. - Jul 25, 20241 check-in
Beautiful shopping experience in the heart of Waikiki District. Plenty of shade, tropical atmosphere, and luxury boutiques galore. Gorgeous people everywhere, and the entire plaza is immaculately clean. A very safe, upscale experience. Also beautiful natural spaces with big trees and a nice waterfall.
Parking is paid garage, and the plaza is walking distance to hotels and the beach . I walked here from my hotel only 6 minutes. Plenty of restaurants just steps away .

Impressive! Quite impressive actually! What a nice little open-air mall to walk through. It reminded me of some of the large outdoor shopping malls (or plazas) in SoCal, in both L.A. and Orange County.
They have your typical high-end designer stores that I don't really care about anymore; Down to your small, not so cheap anymore, convenient store like ABC. And a mix of different stores. I believe one of their anchor stores is Mitsuwa, but to me they are their own adventurous market. There's lots to shop for, or eat at inside there as well.
For food and dining, you have the options of something quick at the food court. In which I noticed a wide variety of options to choose from. Everything from burritos, to Greek, to hoagie sandwiches, to pizza, coffee, beer, etc. Or you have the higher end restaurants at the top floor! We actually ate at the Eating House 1849 (review pending) and picked up yummy pastries from Liliha Bakery.
We Uber'd here, so i cannot really comment about parking. But really, it's pretty walkable from your hotel or from the beach I'd say. To me, the highlight was seeing the old historical banyan tree and the little tree house. This tree was massive and simply classic. A tree that has seen it all, loved it.
Again, I'm all about the walking aspect of the place. You'll easily add 5,000+ steps just walking and taking the escalators up ever floor.Helpful 11Thanks 1Love this 11Oh no 0Business owner information

32273504Jul 27, 20241 check-inIt been awhile since I came here, even though I live here all my life. This place was famous for its shop, but most notably the banyan trees.
I saw the stage where they performed and all the retail stores, along with the restaurants. It's conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki... I remember the old times when street vendors would sell their merchandise on the side, attracting tourists... that was the old days... anyway it brings back good memories...Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Walking throughout the International Market place lots of new shops . Future home forTarget coming soon .
Took a picture of the iconic original Banyan Tree . I remember back in the day the old International Market Place had the same Original Banyan tree .
Good place to walk around and window shop if you're in Waikiki .

The last time I was on Oahu was February of 2013. The International Market Place was a fun, low key place to hang out in! Things felt moderately affordable and there were a lot of fun options.
Fast forward a decade later or so, and things have changed in a huge way. In my opinion, not necessarily for the better.
They apparently tore the old place down and rebuilt a big, shiny new mall like complex.
Bah. What a disappointment.
There were a handful of interesting stores to window shop at, but things were just so insanely over the top expensive in most outlets. In the previous version of the International Market Place, we would just bounce around from store to store buying things. It was a lot of fun!
They do have a very good food court area downstairs. We ended up enjoying a very good meal here,
Otherwise, it was just another overpriced, glossy tourist trap.
Grab a bite and take a look around, but don't waste too much time here.

Aloha Mike, and thank you for your honest feedback. We regret to learn that our reimagined center feel short of your expectations. While our newly reimagined center is different than the Polynesian-inspired village it once was, we take pride in the new ways we're able to celebrate and honor Hawaiian Cultural, particularly Queen Emma and the royal family, in a way that the previous center did not, through design and activations like our O Na Lani Sunset Hula Show and Cultural Journey. As we continue to look for ways to bridge the present to the past, we're excited to have the Mahiku Farmers' Market back at the center every Thursday to offer shoppers a more diverse selection of goods and products. Respectfully, we actually do have brick and mortar stores who have hand crafted Hawaiian items. Martin and McArthur and Lani Beach are great examples. We do hope you'll visit us again soon and rediscover all that we have to offer. Mahalo
Feb 19, 2013Previous reviewYup. I would say I'm a fan! We came here no less than 6 times during our week in Hawaii. lol This is the best place to pick up souveneers at good prices.
They also have an internet cafe, a post office where you can send things off you just bought, and a full food court with plenty of options!
The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because many of the vendors sell the same things..over and over and over. You can certainly haggle with most of them. I saved quite a bit just by asking. lol How can you beat that?
You can pick up (at great prices) Aloha shirts, t-shirts, tiki masks, tiki statues, mugs, jewlery, windchimes, and much, much more!
Its outdoors so you still get that nice breeze and warm weather as you bop around all the different shops.

This mall has the best Sunglass Hut store on the island! There's always a special promotion running and they validate your parking!

While walking on the strip we were told to venture over here to see the stores and eat. We walked around since it was early there were a few stores not open like Christian Louboutin.
It is a plethora of stores and a lot to see so be prepared to walk. The top level is the place to be. There are several restaurants for all types. They have a sports bar that does karaoke, a fine dining place and a few for families.
We choose a different place each night.
