Tracy is fantastic, for so many reasons! I came to Island Acupuncture for fertility support, once we decided to expand our family with baby #2. I had never gotten acupuncture before, and I'm so grateful to have found Tracy. It took us 7 months to conceive our first child (within average but still grueling!), so at the young age of 36 I wanted to do all I could to improve our chances with baby #2. So to Island Acupuncture I went!

Long story short - We got pregnant on our very first try! I started weekly sessions with Tracy about 3 months before we planned to start trying, to prepare my body for a healthy conception and pregnancy. We weren't expecting it to happen right away, but we conceived on our first attempt after 3 months of treatment! I'm now 24 weeks along and have since moved away from Alameda, but I definitely would have continued with Tracy through the pregnancy if I could.

In addition to acupuncture, I got so much more than I expected out of the experience. Tracy demonstrates such kindness and empathy in her treatment, seeking to understand not only your physical needs/concerns but also the emotional side. She takes time to help you understand what she's doing and why, and went above and beyond to advise on my holistic fertility journey - not just the acupuncture and herbal supplements she provided. She recommended a free fertility app to track temperature, ovulation, and menstrual symptoms, and took time before each session to review that week's chart and help me better understand my own reproductive system. I also appreciate that she never claimed her tools were the definitive answer to fertility - she was honest and research-driven in her approach, often explaining that these were simply drops in a larger bucket, contributing to a healthier reproductive cycle. She's a kind and brilliant practitioner and I cannot recommend her more!

I feel so lucky to have found Tracy to help me through my pregnancy and postpartum period.

First, a little about my background. For baby #1, I had severe preeclampsia and delivered at 34 weeks. When my blood pressure started ticking up with baby #2 around 16 weeks, I knew I should give acupuncture a try. That's when Tracy entered my life!

Tracy was so much more than an acupuncturist. She deeply listened and followed what was happening in my pregnancy and life so she could craft the best treatment for me. She coached me on how to approach the Western medical treatment I was receiving so I could advocate for myself and get the best outcomes. She also supported my mental health as she helped me process some of the trauma that surfaced as I remembered my baby #1 experience. When she's talking to you, Tracy has an amazing ability to really hone in and make you feel like you are the only person in the world who matters.

I'm thrilled to report that while I did develop gestational hypertension, it never manifest into preeclampsia and I delivered a healthy, full term baby! After delivery, my blood pressure was still elevated. Tracy made home visits to treat me and even made sure my baby was taken care of while I received treatments.

I sincerely wish all women in the US could have a Tracy in their lives. Maternal health outcomes would be so much better!

This is a long overdue review.

I saw Tracy a few times for acupuncture while I was in my 2nd trimester pregnant. I was looking for relief with my lower back and Tracy did wonders. She was a great listener, and helped me feel comfortable with the entire process (this was the 1st time I'd ever had acupuncture).

The only reason I stopped seeing her was because of my commute into Alameda. If I lived nearby, I'd still be seeing her.

"When I first started with Tracy Zollinger at  Island Acupuncture, I was crippled by pain all over when still or moving. Prescribed pain pills and an epidural shot were not effective. In addition to pain in my lower back, an injured tendon on my right side made it difficult to move without pain. On the first visit, I was shown how to find a sleeping position that resulted in a good night's sleep. That resulted in no pain when not moving - a great first step.
Tracy listens to you. She does not start with preconceived ideas about your condition but starts each session with questions about progress since the last visit. She explains how our body and mind works. She is a great motivator and encourager, explaining the cycles that we go through in the healing process. What may seem a setback is the body's way of letting us know that our muscles are being challenged as we move toward mobility. I have been improving steadily. When I compare my condition two months ago to today, I am amazed at the progress I have made.

Tracy is exceptional and has helped me on many occasions through acupuncture. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, always professional and amazingly kind.

She helped me when I pulled a muscle in my lower back after an accident moving furniture. Her work helped alleviate the pain and I recovered much faster than I anticipated.

I also go to her when I need acupuncture to help with respiratory issues from allergies or asthma like symptoms. After a couple sessions I feel much better can breathe with ease.

I have recommend her to my friends and family whenever they are looking for acupuncture and as a testament to her work the people I sent her way have also recommended her to their friends.

I've been seeing Tracy for the past 2 months to address shoulder pain and to address pain from spinal stenosis. Tracy is very generous with her time for listening to me and explaining the whole-body approach of Eastern medicine and acupuncture.
I quickly experienced pain reduction in my shoulder. Tracy encouraged me to honor my body and find new ways to think about and move my body. She urged me to continue seeing my PT for further support and suggested I consider working with my psychiatrist to wean myself from meds for anxiety and insomnia. When I became excited about adding Feldenkrais lessons to my repertoire, Tracy supported this.
I appreciate Tracy's honesty, integrity and the way she honors my journey in finding greater comfort in my aging body.

I'm a professional MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter and I went to Tracy few times one for my back and one for my knee acl injury !
She did an amazing job and made so many adjustments for my healing !
I strongly recommend her to all my friends and family she is amazing !
She also did some cupping in addition of acupuncture that help so much my pain to go away !
I can't wait to come back to her office for talaxing and tune up !

Tracy is awesome. I started seeing her because I was sleeping too much after my husband passed away. She even texts me good morning. My general sense of well being has improved. The relaxing acupuncture is wonderful.

Tracy provides amazing help pre, during, and after treatment. I had such comprehensive care and I left having only excellent things to say about my experience. I was antsy with the needles but her delicate approach was very calming. I came to Tracy as part of prenatal care and I was so grateful for the words of wisdom she shared at the end of my treatment regarding birth and postpartum care. It was very clear that she cared about my health as a whole person. I felt very well taken care of so thank you again!

Tracy also provided great PT references for me. This is so helpful. My husband and I are looking into this as well as overall postpartum holistic care to make my recovery easier.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with my prenatal care with Tracy and am grateful for her support! I didn't know her before my appointment but she treated me with the highest quality care as though she had known me forever. She truly goes out of her way to give the highest quality of care and I felt that I was in very good hands.

I have added Tracy to my "team" twice over that past several years. The first time was after a car accident. When physical therapy was not enough, through Tracy I received acupuncture treatments that offered a deeper level of physical relief and healing. Most recently, Tracy has been providing education/coaching, traditional Chinese herbs, supplements and acupuncture to ease stress/sleep disruptions, support healthy eating/weight loss, and inspire me to achieve my health goals. I look forward to my weekly visits to her peaceful clinic. For me, the time talking with Tracy before my treatment and the time alone during treatment is quite frankly the most healthful and inspiring hour of my week.
