We've been taking our car here for a few years. We were thrilled with the service and felt a great deal of trust towards the company. Sadly, the gentleman who was always there to assist us, left the company. Because of our history there, we wanted to continue the relationship but this last visit has shown that it is time to move on.

We had a pretty good idea of what was going on with the car but I feel it's important to get the diagnostic done to confirm. In the past, the fee was either waived or adjusted as part of our total service amount. This customer service aspect played a huge part in the trust we felt for the company and we never felt like we were being over charged or taken advantage of.

With this visit, things were definitely different. When I asked about it, I was told that the mechanics fee had to be paid since he was doing the diagnosis. Well, I'm not arguing that the time should be paid for but I do disagree with how it is being rationalized.

So, the stand alone fee for the diagnostic is $150 and if I choose to decline the repair then I should be responsible for that entire fee. Absolutely no argument there.

If, however, I move forward with the repair then the diagnostic fee should be billed as the exact amount of time it took to do it but capped at the stand alone fee of $150. My car is being serviced from the moment the mechanic starts working on it so the diagnosis should be billed as such and should not be considered an additional stand alone service.

There is no reasonable excuse for charging the customer three hours labor if it didn't actually take three hours to perform that labor.

Excellent consumer experience: friendly staff, finished on time and kept to their estimate. Three friends recommended the place, and I can see why.

Well, Here am I, a country mouse from up island, supposed to pick up my daughter's hat from a house in vic west. never been there, and left my directions at home(of course) . drove around for a while trying to remember the google (Hah)! dropped in to these guys and together we managed to cobble up a map which I was able to sort of follow. Upshot is, after going in circles for a while, I found the place, got the hat,, and carried on with my day.
Let me tell you, anyone who would give cheerful, willing help to an old codger like me , must be someone I would definitely trust with my car. Thank you so much. I owe you a beer! Peter.

Had a custom exhaust installed. They didn't weld the pipe as agreed. The pipe brackets they used did not hold the pipe together. Exhaust was leaking into the vehicle. They said it's not of concern? My kids ride in this vehicle and it is of great concern. The system started to rattle so back again. I pointed out the leak and the bad connection. Demanded it be welded. I was told they couldn't warranty it as they didn't have a welder. The rattle came back so back to see them again. Still no welder. Was quoted $400 to replace the muffler. 1 month past my warranty. I inspected the system and the rattle was that connection again not the muffler. Now approx 3 years later my custom exhaust is in 3 pieces now. One more time back there. Sorry we can't fix it as we don't have a welder. I paid over $700 for a custom exhaust that years later is in pieces. I asked what they suggest what to do since they refuse to take any accountability. The answer was take it to a shop that can weld. This is the worst service possible. Take their advice and find an exhaust shop that welds.

Brought my car in and got overinflated prices for fixing something. We took it to another mechanic and got a second opinion and found out that the prices were substantially lower at this mechanic and for the issue specifically, is never that expensive. Do not recommend!

I was on holiday with my elderly mother when my back brake started grinding. One of the owners gave me a quote of $1,600 to do back and front brakes, lied to me about the safety of my car and I was pretty much forced to pay it. My friends at home who work on cars cannot believe how badly I was ripped off by this company, perhaps because I am a female?

I was just in to Island Brake and Muffler this past week and the service was outstanding. The team and daily operations seems to run seamlessly. I was educated on the service my vehicle needed and felt the honesty in helping me prioritize what needed immediate attention and what could wait. I would highly recommend anyone looking for auto repair to these guys!
