J & J Hardware Store

Stopped by to get some keys copied, ended up leaving happy!

When I stepped into the store, I had walked in the middle of a conversation between the workers and some customers but I was immediately greeted and asked what I needed today. I said I needed some keys copied and was told the different options to choose from. I went with standard gold (but looking at their different varieties, I just might come back next time for a fancy printed one). The workers were super friendly and I definitely felt welcomed. You honestly can't beat the price they charge too & they work quick!

As my keys were being made, I was able to pet and play with their "2nd best worker," Jackson. He was the sweetest doggo (as of today, he's 15 months), i wish i was able to stay and play with him more. As I was paying to leave, Jackson put his head on my foot.

Would recommend this hardware store if you are looking for any merchandise for fixing up your house. I've been here once before long ago when I was needing to fix holes in my walls from horrible drilling & left with what I needed.

Everyone here is friendly and super welcoming and can answer any hardware questions you have!

I came here to purchase a lamp light bulb.
Idk the name who helped me but it was an older guy.
He knew exactly where it was, lead the way and got it out for me.
I asked if there's another one the same but dimmer.
He advice I shouldn't change the bulb just because I want to, I should stick to what the lamp uses.
Makes sense.

Neighborhood gem!
We were in town helping our daughter & her hubby get set up in their new home in the Ingelside neighborhood. Since I'm the project guy, I got to go and find some miscellaneous supplies. Rather than drive to Home Depot or Lowe's, I decided to walk to J&J Hardware on the off chance that they would have what I needed. Indeed they did. I found every item I was looking for.
The store is jam packed with stuff, floor to ceiling, up and down every aisle.
I brought my selections up to the front, and the cashier made a suggestion for an alternative, then walked me down the aisle to show me what he was talking about. I wound up buying both my original selection and his suggested item, and made good use of them.
Wonderful to find a traditional, well-equipped, customer service-oriented hardware store!

Just came here to give the guys at J & J a shout-out. I'm glad to have this as my local hardware store. The owner and the guy at the check-out counter are always nice & willing to give me, a home-improvement noob, advice.

They're fine with my dog coming in.

I've found just about everything I need here, from wall plates to primer to texture spray to soil.

They don't sell plants, but they have some plastic planters and nice cork mats for plants.

I had to go pick up mice deterrent, so I went to J&J's on Geneva. As I was entering the store, the man outside the front door asked if I needed any help, I said of course. He stopped what he was doing, showed me a new product that I didn't even know existed, I got that. He also walked me over to the section for what I was looking for, he has such a large selection of products. I was so in awe as to how many different products for catching mice, that I forgot the damn traps. I did purchase a few items though. Have to go back today to get the traps. Thanks for your help, see you again today.

I left with my small purchase humiliated. How can ordering a simple copy of a house key be so frustrating? (Especially when its his lunch time and he barely chomped his 1st bite of his massive super burrito) Sorry buddy, but YOU ARE A BULLY. PERIOD!

They have what you need and know where in the store it's located. Support your independent hardware store!

I'm a regular and am probably in there about once a week. Great local hardware store. If they don't have it, they'll try to track it down and order it for you.

I've been coming to J & J Hardware for years and I have always found what I needed at competitive prices. They carry items that even the big box home improvement centers don't carry. Their prices tend to be lower than those of other retailers.

Furthermore, they have first class customer service and are knowledgeable about all aspects repairing things around a home or business.

I've been reading the reviews and some people have had the same experience as I did with the bald guy in the key counter. He can be rude and condescending. The other employees I have interacted with are very nice. I'll go there only if I absolutely need to.
