      Does BMC dealership file the vehicle registration for the newly purchased car right away? I have seen several cars driven around my small town with no plates (just their blue paper BMC signs) after 1 yr or MORE. They are only ones like that.

      A:

      Yes they do. It's required by the state. No idea why those noted don't put their plates on. If they get stopped could result in a fine or fix it ticket.

      I purchased a used car few months ago on September 23rd, 2020 from this dealership, a 2014 Bentley Continental GTC, I flew from Los Angeles and bought the car and drove it back to Los Angles CA. On my way back I noticed some suspension noise, I did not make much out of it as I had bought a used car and I understood that.
      About 45 days after I purchased the vehicle and ca 1700 miles later the suspension of the car started making more and more noise and part of the key fob remote stopped working. I took the car to a dealership in Pasadena and they advised on some repairs on suspension which I agreed to do, but what I found out was shocking to me that the brake rotors were under safety measurements required by any dealership to sell a car to consumers and further more the front wheel was welded and rear wheel was bent.
      I contacted the dealership right after and provided the report from the dealership in Los Angeles to them. I spoke with Jeff the manager numerous times and all I got was "I will research and get back to you". unfortunately up to todays date I have not received any response.
      This is a major safety issue that this dealership should not overlook to make more money on cost of consumers life's.
      I will be contacting the Bureau of Automotive repair as well as better business bureau to file a complaint as well.
      Be careful purchasing a used car from this dealership.

      I had an outstanding experience at Land Rover San Francisco, and it was all thanks to Dimitris. From the moment I arrived, the service was first-class. Dimitris went above and beyond to ensure my visit was smooth and comfortable. Knowing that I needed to work while my car was being serviced, he graciously offered me a private office space, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture.

      The entire process was seamless, and Dimitris kept me informed every step of the way. His professionalism and attention to detail truly set him apart.       I thoroughly appreciated my experience at Jaguar Land Rover San Francisco this past week. Cindy Cestaro, the sales manager, brought a competent, warm, and customer-centered approach to helping me settle on the best car for me. This was at a time when I was worn out from having seen so many other cars, and concerned about getting a deal on a reliable car that fit my financial picture. She went out of her way to give me a few extras. Who does that these days??? Lenny, the salesperson, was straightforward and informative -- a real "salt of the earth" guy. And Joseph made the paperwork easy. Nobody pressured me. Everyone was genuinely fun to work with, even taking into account the health challenges I live with. I walked out with an excellent used car that will meet my needs for a long time to come. Thanks to Cindy, Lenny, and Joseph! I highly recommend their work.

      My experience at Jaguar Land Rover San Francisco was really remarkable! The moment I turned into their enclosed parking area, Alex was there waiting to greet me. He also accompanied me on the test-drive, and introduced me to Cindy Cestaro, their sales manager, who is a true professional-with-heart! Unlike most sales managers, she makes it a practice to and passionately enjoys dealing directly with clients herself.

      Cindy guided me through the sales process with a can-do attitude and seamlessly handled all the unavoidable obstacles normally associated with buying a car. Her competence and genuine concern came through in every detail that she addressed--and handled--with aplomb. (Not to mention that she wore a pair of gold and black high-heel shoes that Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City would sell her entire closet-full of Manolo Blahniks to own!)

      Joseph in the financing department saved me the dreaded trip to the DMV (because I could not locate the pink slip to my trade-in, my bad!), and did all the necessary paperwork for me. Most astonishingly, Jaguar Land Rover SF even paid the $65 fee that DMV required. I mean, who does this in today's world!? So a big "thank you" to all three of you for your unparalled service!!

      A final note: if you are in the market for a pre-owned car that is not a Jaguar or Land Rover, still check out their inventory, because this was the place where I found the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid I now own. In short, I am so grateful that I did business with this Swickard dealership with its classy showroom and even classier staff!

      **Beware: Shady Practices and Broken Promises**

      I recently visited San Francisco's only dedicated Land Rover Jaguar dealership--a place where, over the years I had pass by the charming old showroom floor and admired the vehicles for years through their window. This past Saturday, I found myself in that showroom where i finally decided to make a purchase on a vehicle over so many others, opting for a beautiful, lightly used Land Rover Discovery Sport which had all of the features I wanted.

      The process started out smoothly. I met with Lenny, the salesperson, who assisted me in the test drive, I made no attempt to him to lower the cost of car, it was a reasonable' price. Lenny ran my credit. I was approved, I agreed to the numbers, and signed all the paperwork. Since California has a short 2-3 day insurance underwriting wait period, it was understood that the dealership would hold the vehicle until my policy went into effec 2 or 3 days later. Lenny even mentioned they'd clean and polish the car to get it ready for pick up. and we agreed during the brief 2 day hold period it would be a good time for it to take place.

      But then, in an almost 180 degree turn of events and abrupt change in the transaction the experience took a nasty turn. Another customer, who had seen the same vehicle the day before, returned the day i'm in the dealership and expressed interest in buying it. Suddenly, Lenny claimed they would not sell the the vehicle to me despite our earlier understanding. Despite my nearly 3 hours at their business, all of the formality's covered and after I had signed all the paperwork! Clearly, the customer who decided to come back and buy the same car, who according to Lenny had low ball'd them for the vehicle I just bought during their first visit had apparently made an offer they couldn't refuse, tossing my done deal aside without a second thought.

      This is beyond dishonest. They let me sit there, wasting my time, only to yank the vehicle away at the last minute to appease someone else. Lenny and the management team showed their true colors--caring more about a last-minute offer than honoring a deal they had already committed to with me.

      If you value your time and money, look elsewhere for a quality vehicle. This dealership exemplifies everything wrong with the modern car-buying experience. And to Lenny, who played the part of the so called "caring car dealer"--you deserve an Oscar. Hollywood could use your talent.

      When I asked LENNY how they could do this to me after getting to the end of the transaction and to also not be willing to work with me on simply holding the vehicle with a deposit until my insurance kicks in in 2 days was answered, NO, WE CANT AND THAT ITS JUST BUSINESS.

      How obviously, & outright rude do these dealerships need to treat the public until we collectivly not patron these shops anymore, and doing ALL of our future car buying on line. There is no longer a reason for these outdated and too often, dishonest and unethical land showrooms to exist. This dealership is a perfect

      SERVICE Department Review

      I had a dead battery that took three weeks to diagnose on a 2020 model with $50K miles--THREE WEEKS! Had this been a singular experience with the department, I might not be inclined to post a negative review, but this marks the last time I will deal with Swickard. I will not purchase or repair anything at this dealership again.

      1). If you do not ask when your car will be ready, it could be there for days/weeks. There is no urgency with service timeliness.

      2). In 5 visits to the department in three years, NONE of the service rep personnel has been the same.

      3). The reps do not seem to know what is happening with your car, and it could take days to get even ambiguous information.

      4). The lackadaisical personnel do not inspire confidence in the work being done.

      5). Communication is disorganized and unclear.

      If I could give a 0 rating, I would.

      In Dec 2023, I placed a order for a new Range Rover. I gave a deposit and was told the vehicle would be delivered in May 2024. In May 2024, the sales agent Bobby Alereza sent pictures of the car once it had arrived. Later that day he said it wasn't mine and it was a mistake. He kept stalling, said he had no idea on the status of my car and I got suspicious. I went to the Walnut Creek Land Rover dealership and had another sales agent look up the build # only to find out that they sold my vehicle to someone else. Bobby Alereza said he didnt know how to use the internal system to check the status of a vehicle when he had previously been providing me with updates. He also tried to get me to place another build request when he claimed there were "issues with some of our orders/deliveries and inventory"

      Bottom line is: Land Rover SF is deceitful and full of lies. They get you to place an order with a deposit and look to try and sell your car once it arrives to anyone that will offer more money. I ended up buying a $150K Range at Walnut Creek. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BOBBY ALEREZA (SALES AGENT) OR JEREMY CLAY (SALES MANAGER) OR THIS DEALERSHIP IN GENERAL. FULL OF LIES.

      This dealership has gone downhill!

      So some backstory to start... I've been a longstanding customer of this dealership since 2007, having bought or leased 10 cars through the years and referring quite a bit of business to this dealership as well. Under its own ownership, you feel valued and are treated well whether you're buying your 10th car or your first car. My business was valued, I was valued.

      Fast forward to modern day after the dealership was sold to Swickard. I was assured that my business was still important, that I would still be valued. That is definitely not the case.

      First off, the amount of turnover among the sales team is dizzying. There's no point to know anyone's name because they'll be gone in 2 months. Someone sent me a text to tell me the salesperson I was currently working with has left and they'd be taking over; the issue is they addressed the text with some random name, not mine.

      Secondly, I ordered a replacement car for my expiring lease. The order was placed, but received no follow up until I reached out. They told me the car would arrive at the end of February... great! The end of Feb arrived and it's now March and no one has reached out. I decided to go on the website to check their inventory and there it was, listed for sale. No call, no follow ups, no nothing! At this point I decided that my business will go elsewhere. I'm disappointed, annoyed, and a bit hurt. I was going to call about the car, but what's the point... I'll just order it again from another dealership.

      I still highly recommend the Service and Parts Dept though, as long as Dimitrios is still there. But if you want to get a new Land Rover or Jaguar, shop around at other Land Rover Jaguar dealerships because loyalty and repeat business has no value with Swickard.

      Worst service center I've ever been. Waited for my appointment for 30mins straight without a person in sight. Changed customer advisor on me for 3 times in a month. Wanted me to pay out of pocket even though I'm fully covered by my 3rd party warranty. Please, take your car somewhere else.

      Hands down best customer service I have ever had from a dealership. My loaner was gorgeous and had 245 miles on it. My car was fixed quickly and the service person I dealt with (Rafa) went so far above and beyond I will never buy a car anywhere else. Course Cadillac had my last car for two months while they fixed a warrantied part (covid supply chains issue apparently) and they do not do loaners! Did I mention they had my car for two months! This was the opposite experience.
