Janesta Noland, MD

Dr Noland, a pediatrician with Menlo Medical Clinic and partner of our primary pediatrician, Dr Cisco, was on call the night and weekend my youngest son was born. We saw Dr Noland several times over the following days and were genuinely impressed with her attentiveness, confidence and general demeanor. Given her style and situation (as a mid-career doctor with young children of her own), I can certainly understand why many new mothers gravitate to her as a primary pediatrician. And while we are quite happy with our primary doctor's "old school" approach, we've confidently recommended Dr Noland to friends and would be happy to see her more regularly ourselves.

We have 2 girls who are patients in Dr. Noland's practice. She is smart, professional and has just the right dash of --'I've been there myself'- to make you feel like she is listening and actually cares about you & your child. If you read stuff on the Net, she will listen & consider what you have to say rather than taking a tone with you for trying to get as informed as possible. I like that too.

My older daughter is completely freaked out by doctors & Dr. Noland and her wonderful nurses are very patient with her & give her time to chill out.

On the negative side, it's a pain to get an appointment for regular appointments because this is an extremely popular practice & the front desk can be downright surly if you dare to ask a question during their catered lunch from 12-1:30.

Nonetheless, I live with that inconvenience for my kids.

Some reviews here are about Burgess and others are about Menlo Clinic but all of them are about Dr. Noland. Btw, Dr. Noland is now with Burgess and the annual fees can be covered if you have the right insurance with HSA. So it goes down to about $ 150/mo which is what we used to pay as co pay with other insurances as my child needed frequent weight check visits. Some children need the type of attention that involves experienced doctors with excellent diagnostic skills and Dr. Noland is just terrific--the best one in her profession!! Her diagnosis is unbeatable. My child's pneumonia, ear infections, and stomach flus were caught by her before things got worse and out of hand. She is conservative in her treatment and yet she is extremely knowledgeable about typical and atypical symptoms.
Our Son has always had acid reflux and growth issues resulting from that; this required a Doctor who is totally hands-on and aware of all meds and resources required for such kids. From feeding therapists and OTs to GI specialists, and all the latest medicines required to treat or control symptoms of reflux--Dr. Noland is 100% aware of. She treats parents with respect, has great bedside manners and connects very well with children. She shares some of her parenting experiences and you will totally love how modest and simple she is when speaking about her experiences as a mother and doctor.
On the flip side she is very busy and there is a 6 month wait if you want her as your child's doctor but if you are willing to wait you could easily have the best pediatrician in Bay Area for your child..not kidding

Great pediatrician, but no longer at Menlo Clinic. Now she's in a concierge practice with two other doctors.

Concierge medicine is expensive but not all doctors who practise it are worth the cost. I feel Dr. Noland is. She is obviously smart, pays attention, and has great access to Stanford specialists.

Dr. Janesta Noland is one of the finest doctors and people I know and has been recognized as such by various sources including by her peers and by the Stanford Children's Hospital. (So, don't just take a mom's word for it .. ask the other doctors!). I would trust her with any issue I ever have. A few years ago the kids themselves chose to see Dr. Noland who they know because she is a parent at their school. In addition to being an extremely skilled doctor who is constantly studying and learning, Dr. Noland has an amazing way of engaging with patients and having the kids open up and talk about anything that is on their minds. I know this will even more important and the kids work through puberty and into their teen years. She is also very proactive and works on their overall health. She is available at any time and will travel to your house. She also gives back to the community by taking of a number of children who can't afford care (and she helped my housekeeper at no charge when her 2 year old had cancer). I believe I get more than my money's worth and I'm thrilled my kids have such a great role model in their life. Plus there is no price I wouldn't pay for the best care for my kids.

Dr. Noland was the pediatrician who took care of my first born son while he had jaundice a few days after birth. She is always a kind and patient doctor. She always answered questions patiently and with care without making patients feel rushed. Unfortunately we could not follow her to her concierge practice but recommend her very highly.
