Honest mechanic. He could have told me I needed service when I thought some things needed to be fixed but was conservative with his recommendations. You don't come across many mechanics like this, at least in my experience. Prices were very reasonable, 3x lower than the dealership. Very happy with his work so far.

Replaced an old 2018 battery at O'Reilly and they ran a diagnostic test resulting in bad diodes on the alternator. Called different shops for a quote to replace an alternator, belt, rotors and brakes. Aki gave the best price compared to other shops I called. He tested the new battery voltage and didn't find any issues. He was real honest and didn't want me to spend all the money to replace the alternator because the voltage was good. We agreed to drive it for a while and keep an eye on the voltage of the new battery. If it remains at a good voltage, he suggested not to change the alternator. If it drops, Aki recommended to bring it in to replace the alternator. While the car was there, I had all the brakes and rotors replaced. The car is running great so far. Will definitely come back for all other services for our Acura. Great work. Honest. Best prices. Professional. Authentic. Personable.

Aki is just simply fantastic. Really great guy, and was able to help get my 2014 Mazda CX-5 all fixed up in no time.

Aki is a very knowledgeable and humble mechanic. He is very transparent with customers, making sure to show and explain each component that is being replaced or having issues along the way. He maintains communication very well, and does not take on jobs that are beyond his expertise.

Based on other reviews, I brought my '94 RX-7 FD here for an oil leak. Dropped my car off in the morning and got a call later in the afternoon to come take a look. The rear main seal of my rotary engine was leaking. Though the job was simple, it required extensive steps (including transmission removal) in order to access. Aki made sure I understood everything before proceeding with the work. He also recommended other things that could be done while already that deep into the car, so I went ahead and my clutch replaced.

I felt reassured by his experience. He mentioned that he used to overhaul these rotary engines in Japan on the daily; working with these engines is a trait definitely hard to come by in a mechanic these days.

Aki had no problem with me dropping by with no prior notice, and each time he showed me the progress of the car. By the end, my car was running better than ever!

I am very happy with the service and trust Aki all the way with my car. Will be back for sure.

I've been taking my '03 Honda Pilot and my '05 Subaru Legacy to Aki for the past few years. He is the owner of the shop and does all the work himself. Aki does excellent work (very thorough) and keeps my older cars running great. Highly recommended!

Aki is a hard working, honest gentleman who is seamless with the tools, at least when it comes to brake pad replacements! Absolutely will return.

Went to see Aki (proprietor and ace mechanic) for a parasitic electrical drain in my '90 Nissan S13. He thoroughly went through the entire electrical system of the vehicle and put it on a full charge. So far, so good. Brought my 2020 Outback Onyx XT in for a service based on the reviews. While this was not a major service (more than just a basic oil change) Aki took the appropriate time to understand what needed to be done, gave a good clear estimate for the work, and performed the service to a high-quality standard (he even showed me the parts he replaced and tested tyre pressures... including the spare).

Although this is my first service at Japan Auto Service - I feel like I got a reasonable price and quality work done on my vehicle. I feel I will be able to trust him going forward. I will definitely be coming back for the next service that is not just a simple oil change (sorry Aki - I would use you also but there is a place around the corner from me where I can get it done in about 10 mins).
