I've been using Jet Car Limo for many years. I am going from memory here - I started using Jet Car based on a paper mailer I received (how's that for old school) probably in the mid 2000's. I stayed with them after they changed ownership. If I had to guess, I'd say I've been picked up/dropped by Jet Car well over 100 times. I use them 90% for business and 10% for personal.
Here's why I'm giving them 5 stars:
1) Reliable. In over 100 pickups they have never been late. Ever. Going back almost 10 years.
2) Customer service: I occasionally call them with less than four hours to spare and they have *always* managed to get a car to me. I have had flights delayed where I arrive SFO around 3am. They are on the phone with me, coordinating the pickup, no problem. I have never had a problem.
3) Website: they have a good self-service website. I can set up my pickups, manage my receipts and my account. Works fine.
4) Pleasant. They are never anything other than incredibly professional.
5) Fleet. Always clean, well maintained. They have several Town Car Executive L's - I think they even have some Signature models too. Really nice.
And
6) Everyone else is hammering them. I don't get it. Maybe it's these deal-coupon things are creating some friction. I use these guys all the time and never have had a problem. If you are a business traveler this is as good as it gets. I recommend them to friends and family all the time, never had a complaint.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Holly G.San Francisco, CA129401Apr 12, 2012
I have the same comment as most previous comments.
I purchased the Amazon coupon for "Town Car Service to SFO or Between Any Two Locations in San Francisco City Limits" for $28. After I confirmed my reservation, I got an invoice that said I owed another $17. I e-mailed the company to ask about the charges, and they did respond quickly. However, the breakdown of charges was absolutely ludicrous. $3 for tax, $10 for gratuity, and $4 for an airport service fee. Let me break down how I feel about each of these:
$3 for tax. I understand in the terms and conditions that it says taxes can be applied. However, I have never purchased a deal coupon like this that they weren't already included. Because it was listed in the T&C (which I always read before I purchase) I can completely let that one slide.
$10 for gratuity. I anticipated paying gratuity as it said in the T&C that it was not included in the main cost. However, if you are going to charge me a flat rate for gratuity and not let me decide how much I want to pay myself, it needs to be included in the price of the deal ($38, gratuity included). In fact, for good service, I would have tipped more than $10. I understand the company wants to make sure the drivers are fairly compensated, so I can also let that one slide.
$4 for an airport service charge. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! The coupon is for car service TO SFO. It should ABSOLUTELY be included in the price of the coupon and tacking on an extra fee is a scam. If I'm buying "Town Car Service to SFO or Between Any Two Locations in San Francisco City Limits" then I'd expect service to SFO to be included! It is beyond absurd that the owner of this company doesn't think that people would be upset about that. It is a scam. Period.
I know $4 isn't much money at all, but I refuse to be cheated and lied to.
I emailed with the company and after several emails back and forth, they stood their ground on the charges. I politely responded and told them about how disappointed I was with their company and that I would be asking for a refund for my purchase.
I called Amazon and they were very kind about refunding my purchase and sent my complaint wherever they happen to go (if anywhere). I assume many people will be doing the same.
If you purchased this coupon, return it immediately. This company is trying to take advantage of you. They are just hoping people will put up with what they are doing to make some extra money.
In the end, I'll probably pay $60 to get to the airport rather than the $45 they would charge me with the fees. It is well worth it for me to pay the extra money to use a company that I trust.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alice E.San Francisco, CA14342356Apr 18, 2012
Tried to book a reservation, emailed them and got a auto response saying they should get back to me within 1 business day. 6 days pass, and still no word/confirmation. So I call and they say to wait till the afternoon.. I wait 2 days. I call again the next morning, he said he will email me once he reviews the reservation. Patiently I wait another 2 days, I give up. Not sure how they intend to keep up a business with this type of response time.
Hopefully they get their act together.. Otherwise our unemployment rate go ups just a tad bit higher...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Gowri R.San Francisco, CA2401344Aug 1, 2012
Like most of the other reviewers, I purchased a deal through AmazonLocal for transport to/from SFO with Jet Car Limo. I bought 5 of these thinking that for $28 it was a great deal. While I'm not quite as negative on them as others seem to be, I definitely regret the purchase.
The additional $17 they ask for irked me. I've bought deals like this before (from Groupon, etc.) and have never been asked to pay anything. I've always tipped generously, but this was never mandated. I also live right off the 280, so a cab to the airport generally costs me right about $40. Suddenly, the 5 vouchers I purchased didn't seem like the best deal.
They're pretty slow to respond when you're trying to make a booking (which must be done via email if you're trying to use a voucher). They also frequently don't have 'availability for vouchers'. What does that even mean? If I'm paying cash, they have a car for me, but if I want to use a voucher, no car? Makes no sense.
I've never had a problem with them not showing up, but they often park in really odd spots. Compound this with the fact that they don't call when they arrive, and this means I'm often running around the block with my suitcases trying to find them. Their airport pickup is also not the greatest. I've never gotten the in-person pickup, opting for the curbside pickup instead. They say to call when you arrive, and I've always done this directly from the plane as it taxis to the gate. Even so, I end up waiting 20-30 minutes curbside for the car to show up.
On the plus side, the cars are nice and clean and the drivers are courteous and professional. Overall, I think this is a business that got a huge influx through the Amazon promotion and did not quite know how to handle it. If I were ever to need a paid car service (read not a discount deal), I might consider using them again... in a year, after the Amazon vouchers are no longer clogging up their capacity.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rafunzel F.San Francisco, CA823Apr 16, 2012
If I could give them zero stars I would. I feel like I am a very objective person maybe a little more lenient than most. If somebody has crappy service but great customer service or vice versa I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Across the board I was very disappointed with jet car limo.
I purchased a pinchit coupon for a one-way trip to sfo. I tried to book online but didn't get confirmation that it went through so I had to call them. When I called them a pleasant man answered but I can tell I was the last person on his mind as he was talking to others in the background and I wasn't entirely sure he was answering my questions. Nevertheless, I did as he instructed and emailed my reservation and I was assured I would get a confirmation. I was apprehensive but hopeful that it would work out.
The day of my departure I had to call to ask if I was confirmed. He said I would receive an email and if I didn't 2 hours prior to my departure to call back. I did receive the confirmation finally and again was apprehensive but hopeful.
At 3:15 I was waiting in front of my building for my 3:15 pickup. At 3:25 I gave them a call. The guy said, "oh he's waiting outside in front of your building". I said, "I'm outside and there's nobody out here". He said "oh really?". I said, "um yes really". He said "I'll call him and I'll call you back". 8 minutes later the actual driver calls me back and says "I'm sorry. It's my fault. I can give you a free ride next time but I'm not coming".
From the get go they were unprofessional, disorganized, and did not provide the service confirmed. Zero stars for zero work on their part. I gave them plenty of room to right themselves but in the end they failed miserably. I do not even want to use my free ride because I have a feeling they would charge me the full non pinchit amount!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael S.Las Vegas, NV34191Jun 7, 2012
Wow...while I did not have as bad an experience as some on here, I'm now fed up. I purchased the vouchers through AmazonLocal. While I agree with most - I was surprised by the additional $17 surcharge, including the forced $10 gratuity - but you know what, $45 is still darn good for a lift to SFO. About the same price as a cab from my 'hood (South Beach) - but you don't have to worry about the cab showing up and ride in luxury - and less than a private black car (now from $55 and up). Yes - they should have been more transparent with their disclosure (they probably have a good securities lawyer writing their disclosure, haha).
I bought 5 vouchers since I had a bunch of trips coming up. The first two trips went off without a hitch.
But then this week I had the same experience as Rafunzel L! I asked to be picked up at 630 am on Saturday morning. I walk outside and see no black car. Mind you there is no traffic and I'm standing there - practically in the middle of the street - for about 5-10 minutes. At this point, I start to get worried and call a cab. I email and call Jet Car, no answer. Finally, someone calls me back (thanks to caller ID I assume). He asks me whether I called him and tells me the driver is/was outside and has been there since 615. I say no he isnt. He says "Ok, where are you now - I'll send a car." I tell him I'm already on the 101.
A bunch of emails went back and forth, including my demand for the refund of my money. They did offer me a free ride, but how can you trust these guys with a lift to the airport when you have a plane to catch?
AmazonLocal just refunded my money for all 5 vouchers! THANK YOU AMAZON!!
Will never use these guys again. They lost my trust.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jacob S.Cupertino, CA06Feb 17, 2012Updated review
Worst Limo experience EVER.
It looks like they had their initial review removed. This is a warning to any who may end up using this company.
We had a committed reservation with them weeks in advance. We scheduled them with plenty of time to reach our destination (and make our flight).
They never showed up and they NEVER called. We called them after the limo was 10 minutes late and they made lame excuses. Finally we spoke with the driver who claimed he was three cities away by accident. The driver was unable to speak clear English. When we tried to call the main office they refused to pick up the phone.
In the end we had to pack up a van and park it at the airport (it was too late for any alternatives). We barely made our flight.
Completely unreliable company. Unable to communicate clearly. Does not keep commitments. You would be better off walking.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Definitely i agree with you that could be a very bad experience with our service, Especially on your first time
But the big problem there was the driver, That until today i don't know the reason wy he did not found your house. And was he's first and last day in our company. I do like to apologize in the name of my company, and i know that is not kind service we usually provide to our clients , or we are not in business for over 10years. Please let me know if there is possibility to make up this for you. thank you very much.Jan 5, 2012Previous reviewWorst limo experience EVER
Imagine the nightmare of planning travel with a large group boarding a plane in 3 hours. You book days in advance and receive verbal and written confirmation.
o Did not show up
o Did not call to say they would not show up.
o When we called 5 minutes after the requested time they were unaware of the state of the driver/car
o Individual promises to find driver and we do not receive a phone call over the next 15 minutes
o When we do call the "official" number there is no response
o Finally receive call from driver whose english is incredibly poor
o Driver says he has no idea where our house address is (house/neighborhood over 15 years old and easy to find in any map)
Long story short. We had to tell the driver to give up. Packed a van as fast as we could and barely made the airport in time. Had to park in long term parking.
This service was found through "limobidz.com" which apparently replaces the old shuttle express service. This service was so incredibly poor it is hard to describe how frustated we were. - Kevin F.San Francisco, CA06Dec 22, 2012
Please heed the warnings of my earlier post and the other reviewers!!!!! I usually am not this harsh, but this company is AWFUL!!!!!! They should not be in business!!!!!!
I purchased vouchers from DealFind.com. When I wrote to DealFind.com about the inability to use the vouchers because of the unresponsiveness of Jet Car Limo, they actually refunded my money after they read the reviews of the link I sent them to Yelp.com. DealFind.com did the right thing........Jet Car Limo is soooooo far from being right, it's laughable. They deserve to go out of business....!!!! Kudos to DealFind.com for doing the right thing. Don't use this company.....!!!!!!
"0" stars but Yelp doesn't allow this.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thalya O.Tolleson, AZ041Mar 30, 2012

I purchased 3 vouchers through AmazonLocal. One was used by my husband with no problems and no additional fees for the trip from our home to SFO. When I used the voucher on May 25, 2012, for the exact same trip, I was asked to pay an additional $17. An email was sent to me late May 24th informing me of the additional charge without any explanation. The very courteous driver, Oliver, also informed me that $17 was due, which i paid in cash.
I know $17 isn't a lot of money but that's not the deal i signed up for. I paid $28 for each voucher which is an amazing deal and no where does it say an additional $17 will be added. And, my husband wasn't asked to pay this amount for his trip. I contacted AmazonLocal to complain about this charge and they suggested I contact Jetcarlimo directly. I have asked AmazonLocal to cancel my other voucher which they will be doing.
I see from the Yelp reviews and the Jetcarlimo response that they feel justified in charging the so called "taxes, gratuity, (which i would rather control myself - i gave my driver $20), airport charge" and from the tone of the response, they are not interested in customer service. My only recourse will be to yelp and tweet warning people about the underhanded charges and to get a refund as soon as possible.
It would have been so much more forthcoming if you mentioned these charges up front, in the initial description of the deal. On a positive note, Oliver was great, a few minutes early and the car luxurious.
PS: AmazonLocal gave me a refund immediately. Thank you AmazonLocal!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
