      First to Review

I bought my Yaris 5 years ago. I am very happy with the car, lately not so much w/the service. I had 3 recalls on the car (2006 model) and it took over 4 months to get the actual 'work' done. I got another call saying they did not replace something properly so I have to take it back again....that weekend after getting my car back the plate under the engine came loose while I was driving on the highway. Had to have it fixed at Kal Tire!

I took my Rav4 in for scheduled servicing and noticed that I needed new tires. Bob the service rep pressed me to buy the most expensive Michelins. I resisted but finally gave in. Part of his sales pitch was that they were the only ones he had ready to go - all other choices would have to be brought in. I went back at the appointed pick up time and the car was not ready. The reason, Bob said, was that it took longer than expected to get the tires in. I felt like, to him, I was just another sucker to be played.

      The next day....

After this review was posted I got a call from Dennis, the manager at Victoria Toyota. He assured me that he had spoken to his staff about my complaint and that as far as he could see it was just a misunderstanding. I appreciate the effort to reach out.

Received calls as well as notifications on the dash to go in for service, so I called to make an appointment and was told it was a 3-month wait. I explained that I was to have surgery in the 3rd month and she made absolutely no attempt to accommodate me or make suggestions. This is one more in a series of slips made by the dealership. Disappointing as I have bout many vehicles from them in the last 45 years.

Paige is knowledgeable and friendly but high prices for service and parts. My car window was smashed in their lot, they do not have insurance on the vehicles parked at their shop so no help, no recommendations, no vouchers, and when I picked up my car.. it was covered in glass shards after they told me they would do their best to clean. I could understand not doing a perfect job but they didn't touch it. The entire car has large and small pieces of window scattered throughout the inside.

Very poor experience if I could give a minus star I would, stay clear of this group!
Took our deposit (credit card) on a vehicle that was posted on their website at a 3k reduction, the next day the price reduction was removed and we were told the car was sold??
      Very Smelly indeed!

Shyte company values - absolutely no integrity in how they operate.
I got my 2015 Toyota Rav 4's battery replaced by the Jim Pattison Toyota dealership at 3050 Douglas St. in Victoria when I first bought the vehicle used in 2019, because the battery died as we went to drive it off the lot. This was a red flag in itself but we let it slide because they replaced the battery on their dime. Little did we know, they gave us a battery that's unsuitable for the vehicle. Sure enough, 3 years down the road the battery started dying on us. Naturally we got BCAA to jump the vehicle who informed us that the battery we had was not suitable for our Rav4. The one we had didn't even fit on the battery plate and our Rav4 needs a 35N-C battery. Furthermore, he stated batteries should last 5-7 years minimum on Vancouver Island because the weather is temperate. First thing I do is call Jim Pattison Toyota to inform them of the situation and what BCAA said. I was brushed off by the customer service rep who claimed batteries typically last 3-6 years so this is perfectly normal. Two weeks later I conveniently got a recall notice that our battery needs an inspection. The soonest they could get us in was a month and a half down the road, but our battery died again within days of the recall notice. The second BCAA employee to jump our Rav4 reiterated that the battery isn't suitable for our vehicle. I get back on the phone with Jim Pattison Toyota and demand a sooner appointment and they slot us in a week or so from the call. I politely ask to speak to a manager when I drop off our Rav4 to explain what we're being told by BCAA professionals differs significantly from what Jim Pattison Toyota staff are telling me. I also wanted to clarify that the battery replacement was going to be on their dime because of the recall. The manager (Dan) pulls up the paperwork and stated that it's great that I went to get a second opinion, but every part they put in a vehicle is Toyota factory approved stock. Dan added that they would replace the battery at 50/50 warranty cost (depreciating warranty after 2 years), pending the results of their battery inspection. If the battery was deemed adequate per their inspection, they wouldn't do anything or replace it at full cost to me. I voice my displeasure with this set up because, first off - it wasn't a second opinion, it was a service received by reputable experts out of necessity. Secondly, I pointed out the company focused business model they were operating under (providing parts that would last just longer than their warranties) is ingenuine and pathetic, especially when I'm telling him the exact type of battery I need! I say pathetic because I was basically being told by folks who clearly believe they hold all the power that I'm insignificant and need to just accept their disgraceful protocols.
I couldn't go another day without a working battery, so I told them to get it replaced and that I expected to see a 35N-C battery in my vehicle afterward. I got a call from Dan a while later confirming the battery failed the inspection (obviously if it's regularly dying - brilliant!), they'll replace it under their 50/50 warranty meaning I'd pay 50% plus labor and tax = $180ish. I lifted the hood after I got the Rav4 back and they put the same terrible quality battery in - per their terrible non-customer focused business model.
Moral of the story is that Jim Pattison Toyota is a company looking out for number 1 - Jim Pattison Toyota. They replaced one of their minimal quality parts with another, after being given all the information to do a good job, and will no doubt expect me to come on back in 2-3 years when this new battery starts to fail. Needless to say, I'll never be going back to Jim Pattison Toyota and urge anyone out there to follow suit. The only reason I went there in the first place is because I expected them to do the right thing after issuing a recall.

HAHA! Disclaimer says not to write a review if we are getting paid or connected to the employees.... we aren't getting paid we are getting ripped off. We have been loyal Toyota customers for 17yrs, bought 3 vehicles brand new from them over that time and done all our servicing with them. On their invoices they ask for 10 out 10 for their service and if any issue to contact them before any survey. Why??? Because they are more concerned with their reputation and the word getting out that they will not do anything to help out their customers. Our Tacoma that is 4 years old and only 52,000kms has had the clutch replaced twice! 2 years ago admitted there was a fault with it and replaced it but we had to pay for half. Then it just happened again and apparently updated part was also not updated correctly and we still had to pay to get it fixed. Fast forward to today when I brought in our 4Runner for servicing. Made the mistake to say needed it to be road ready for a road trip. I don't mind paying for regular and reasonable services however to get our horn working its going to cost $1026 for the part plus labor and taxes. All other places we called said that unfortunately Toyota has taken the rights to that part and won't see it any less even though it is not nearly that expensive. Exactly like the review on the brakes... theirs $450 Lordco has them for $48. So they have us pinned to spending a ridiculous amount on the part or go without. One company said they could probably replace the whole driving column for less that the part we need. Glad to see Toyota is more concerned about making a profit then helping out their loyal customers for 17years who have spent thousands of dollars with them. Guess our safety isn't as important. Do yourself a favor and go to the little guy instead who'll treat you right!

I wish I could say something positive and encouraging about my experience at JP Toyota Victoria, but I bought 2 vehicles -my first and last from them. All I can say is that they're eager to sell, and completely inept and paralyzed at solving customer issues, and even worse at communication. The theme from them is "we've never heard that before". Honestly, I can't say anything other than shop around and do your homework and research the dealers. My new vehicle had a number of major issues the first couple of days out that plagued it to the point where it was beyond unacceptable. I gave them a go at fixing them, and they did nothing more than a $150 oil change and provided a host of excuses, which also resulted in them underfilling the oil in the vehicle (I had to add over a litre). In trying yet again to get something done and working with them, I find out their service manager had left the company, and was passed along to another manager, who scheduled another attempt weeks later. Thinking now that this vehicle was built on the last shift on a Friday (the 13th) before a long weekend, I decided to get rid of it before something bigger happened. Suddenly, they got really quiet and I heard nothing back until another week had passed and yet another manager, matter-of-factly states that there were no other vehicles around. In calling other dealers within a 50 mile radius in a few hours, I myself found 4 of them. Caveat emptor.

I purchase a 1997 Mercedes Benz Vito from a salesman Harvey. The first day I had problems with the locks (sliding and rear hatch); the vehicle inspection mentioned all locks have been passed as working. I called my salesman to inquire about the locks and Harvey mentioned that the service specialists only do a safety inspection. I went back to the shop to speak to sales manager (Jesse) he offered a $100 dollars to fix the locks. I wasted my time driving around town to fix something that was inspected and written legally by the shop in working order. After I found out it would cost me more than $100 to fix both locks; I finally convinced the sales manager to get the vehicle fixed by the shop. I specifically mentioned (several times) that two locks were not working and after all that my hatch lock was never fixed.

It was 5 days later and I still haven't had my rear hatch fixed and to my dismay I noticed my van was leaking oil. I went straight to the dealership to ask for my money back. The sales manager mentioned that I could trade in my vehicle. I test drove a Tacoma and then I was being pushed into buying the truck and not really being brought to other cars. I found some of the sales staff pushy and impatient when I didn't buy the Tacoma. Also, they did not go into detail on the features of the vehicle and were quick to make false information. They tried to make me impulsive in buying a $43,000 dollar vehicle which is not going to keep a loyal customer.

I finally had to buy a RAV4 since they did not want to return my cash and then I did some research and found there is a $1500 rebate on my RAV4 which no one mentioned to me. I will never buy a car off this lot.

We bought a 2016 Toyota 4 runner and within a year it needed new rear brake pads. They are saying it's because dirt got in both rear calipers and wore them out prematurely. I find this not possible for a brand new vehicle, that's been driven 99 percent on the pavement, we have had many toyota vehicles and never had this issue. In fact my tundra goes off rd a ton and I replaced the brakes at 90k for the first time. They want $450 for new pads with labour. Lordco has the pads for $48. Reading other reviews online other people have had same issues with these brakes, looks like a recall is in order. Would not recommend this service department when it comes to warranty service.
