John's Knife & Scissor Sharpening Service

Recently had our quality knives and scissors sharpened by John's. He did an amazing job and the turnaround was very quick. I would definitely come back again.

I had gifted my mother a Victorinox 8" chef's knife back in the early '70s and she used it constantly, even as a cleaver on frozen foods. On her passing, I got it back and it was not in prime shape. Tip bent, damage to the blade, dents to the spine, etc. Not pretty at the last, but it was her workhorse of the kitchen and she loved it for decades.

I took it to John and he did a fantastic job of removing damage to the blade, tip, and spine.

Results - As sharp as it was when new, properly beveled, tip trimmed and belly curve well done, and most spine dents removed, but reminders of character remain. Now it's MY workhorse of the kitchen (along with a 10" Mercer and a 6" Vic paring knife).

Done quickly, professionally, and with care. Great job overall and all my blades will go to John for treatment.

A true craftsman. He was able to sharpen a paring where the tip had broken off. Looks like new. He also sharpened the blade on our mandolin slicer.

John's previous experience included owning John Brown's Kitchen Supply on Piedmont Ave. He knows his knives and scissors.

I found this place on yelp and I needed my knives to be sharpen. Since it is nearby my house, I came by with my knives. It is a house and nobody was not there so I just left my knives with a note. John called me back later and had my knives sharpened in 2 days. I was able to pick them up early in the morning before going to work as John is very flexible. I am very happy with the service. In my case I paid 33$ for my 6 knives. If your knives don't cut well, you should visit John!!

I reached out to John on short notice to have my knives sharpened for thanksgiving. He was able to fit me in within two days of thanksgiving and did an absolutely incredible job. I'll definitely be back!!!

John is a nice guy who knows his stuff when it comes to sharpening knives. Had an old set of knives that I dropped off for sharpening and they came back looking great.
