JR Home Remodeling

JR did a major remodel in our new house which included complete gutting, changing layout and rebuilding two full bathrooms and adding a walk-in closet. They handled everything from plans, permits and construction, gave us design advise, and dealt with unforeseen challenges as they arose. They did a great job of managing all the work while we are living in the house by proper isolation of job site, daily cleanups etc so that we had minimal disruption. Their crew is very reliable, respectful and friendly. Now the project is done and we are very happy with the outcome. I absolutely recommend hiring them for any remodel projects!

I hired Jackson and Ace to remodel our bathroom and to turn our family room closet into a laundry room last fall. They were able to start right away (once the permits were approved by city hall) and they were very responsive to calls and texts throughout the project. Their team did a great job with both rooms and the price was reasonable. They even did a lot of extra little jobs for me for no extra cost, like replacing some of our old outlets with modern outlets with USB-C ports, and helping me fix a ceiling light. They also hauled away some of our junk after we moved in since they were already hauling away construction material. Everyone on their team were nice, polite, and professional.

If you are particular about your plans I would definitely check in on their work to make sure they are doing it how you want. I had to ask them to start over when they made the grout lines on the shower thicker than I wanted. Even then, they were happy to change it to how I wanted it, but it did add some extra time to the completion date.

Overall I am happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone who wants a licensed contractor for home improvement projects.

As real estate investors, my wife Jennie and I have explored dozens of contractors over the years and so grateful to have found JR - Jackson and Ace and the whole team - they have been able to transform many of our projects and homes and they are so professional and honest folks. They were able to take a lot off our plate by handling drafting and design of our kitchen remodel and updating some other parts of our homes too. They coordinated with the city to pull permits and finished ON TIME and a few days early actually which is unheard of with other contractors! JR helped us turn our dream into a gorgeous reality. This winter, they took our 4br/1ba Linda Mar rancher and converted the 4th bedroom into a 2nd bathroom (that now connects to the primary bedroom). We could not be happier with the results of our new primary suite. We had a pretty clear vision for what we were looking for (design & aesthetic-wise), but the JR team was always open to "holding our hand" a bit when we needed extra guidance on certain things.

Their work is top-notch, and so is their integrity and professionalism. We especially appreciated the constant communication around expectations and next steps. They did a great job of staying within the original timeline and budget, despite the rainy weather the Bay Area has been experiencing. JR's team did a great job fixing up our house prior to selling. His team did whole house painting inside and out, fixed up two bathroom and a leaky window (I didn't even know leaky double-pane can be repaired!)

We are pretty happy with the quick turn around they did, and the prices are very reasonable. We rejected some of the items on the proposal and they had no issues adding and removing line items.

Jackson and his team were easy to work with and did a great job. They were on time and extremely responsive. They were so much more experienced than the other estimates we got and did the job for a very fair price. It is very hard to come by a team this good.
