Finally! I don't have to drive to Berkeley to get my hair cut anymore! I found my new hair salon.
I got a friendly greeting from the receptionist, who showed me where the loo was and also where to get some tea if I like. Lovely atmosphere.
And then I was in the capable hands of Gabe (owner/hair connoisseur). I expressed my desire to grow out my hair and he told me what he was going to do so that it would grow out nicely. He washed my hair (oh I love getting my hair washed when the washer adds a little head massage!) and we were ready to get cutting. A he was cutting, we were talking- about music, traveling, etc. Gabe is a sweetheart and an uber competent hair stylist. No attitude whatsoever.
You know how sometimes you go to a wonderful & trendy hair salon? The stylists are so cool with their tattoos and tiny bangs? And they seem really bored? I mean, I get it. They are arteests after all. I don't mind a little attitude from a brilliant hair dresser now and again. But what a relief- what a joy!- to have found a stylist who gives a pro cut with a smile on his face.
It's like I found a unicorn.

I booked a very last minute hair-coloring appointment with Isabel last weekend. To be honest, I was a little worried, mainly because she had so much availability and not that many reviews, but I was desperate.
My hair turned out beautifully, though!

Isabel gave me the best haircut and color I've had in years. I've been to the best salons in Silicon Valley and I swear I think her work may be better than any of them. I'm so incredibly pleased!!

Isabel left a spot of bleach in my hair!!!! I paid over $200+ to get a balayage before a trip to Europe only to have to grimace whenever I look in the mirror. I didn't notice it right away in the salon as I wasn't given a second mirror to really see ever angle. Completely unacceptable.

Isabel has been doing my teenage daughter's hair for about 2 years now. She always does beautiful work, is fast, and so nice!! We love our appointments with her!

Finally a hair cut I like !! I'm super picky with thin hair and usually cry when I leave the shop .
Not this time thanks to Isabel , I booked online same day and received a quick and thorough cut.
