I came to juniors because it was conveniently across the street from the hotel my family and I was staying at. And I must say we ate here about 5 times in our 4 day new York's stay. This place is excellent and great if you have kids too. Prices are reasonable and the food is really good. The Ambiance of the place is very nice. And the service is excellent. Every time I went we had a different waiter but the last one I had Carter was very nice! Very talkative and really just a great waiter overall! I recommend this place to tourists and locals! I will be going back when I'm in new York again! Also the chicken tenders are delicious!

My family ate there twice during our NYC stay. It was clean and service was quick and courteous. The corned beef sandwich brought me back to childhood memories of downtown Chicago delis. (Yes,Chicago!). I had the NY cheesecake for dessert and it was extraordinary! The second time we went, I had the cheese blintzes. They were good, but seemed deep fried. They were not as good as my grandmother's. That being said, I would definitely eat there again.

Although crowded and busy service was prompt and good delivered quickly. The dessert was delicious. Rueben was a little disappointing, heavy on the meat, but pretty light on the kraut and sauce.

OMG!!! Where to start. Walked in with a party of 12, which included 10 friends from Brarçelona, some of whom spoke better English than others. As soon as we sat down our waitress, Shanice, started to rock her service. She took all of our orders and when questions from our guests about certain types of food was a problem she whipped out her phone to show them pictures (ie types of cooked eggs) WHO DOES THAT? Well Shanice does with a smile on her face.
Okay. Now the food...coffee, tea and lates was excellent..coffee was strong but a bit on the warmer side (I like mine hot), and all the food was excellent. You can see what we had from the pictures but I must point out as a homemade corn-beef and hash snob, this one had huge chunks of meat in it. Yummy.
Would definitely come againHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 18, 2024
I have history with Junior's. It's my go to place for a "good" Reuben in the city. I'm not going to give them 1 star because it may have been an off day for them. It was a Sunday afternoon and they were extremely busy. The food however was not up to par. The waitress was friendly and the service was good. The restaurant has a nice vibe and they play really good music.
I'll try them again when I come back to the city to see if this was an off day or if this is their new standard.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2024
So many people told us to try the cheesecake here so of course we had to when we were in NYC a couple of weeks ago.
First the decor, definitely transports you to another time. It was neat to see the retro appearance of the restaurant. However the lunch/dinner menu is very outdated. It was hard to choose something that we actually wanted. I saw a few people sit down read the menu and leave or really struggle to just to settle on an item.
We chose onion rings and Mac n cheese. Both were ok. The onion rings were fresh but the batter is so thick and there was barely onion. The Mac n cheese was not a homemade taste although it appeared it should have been. We actually boxed up both but never ended up eating them because it was just so meh.
The cheesecake though was pretty good. Red Velvet was favorite out of the two we got (Oreo cheesecake was our other). Definitely worth the visit for cheesecake, but you could just get it to go. Our server was not rude but he wasn't very nice or overly attentive. If you go to NYC go to Juniors but just for the sweets or maybe the brunch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 26, 20241 check-in
Great place for a bite at any time. I love the variety in the menu and some finds you can't find elsewhere such as the open face sandwiches. You can add chopped liver for a small fee so we got it on the side. The serving was large but at least we tried it. I had the open face roast beef. I wish it was hotter when it came out. The portion was huge so you can def share this.
The strawberry cheesecake was very good with whole strawberries in top.
Server was very nice and the place was crowded especially when a show lets out. Juniors is a must stop for families because you can find something for everyone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 22, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
Great service, I had the Reuben both times I came here, my daughter had the burger and it was delicious and very large, she could not finish it.
We did not have reservations, and both times they sat us down right away, they have plenty of seating, plus an outdoor patio.
I enjoyed the decor of the bright colors of Junior's.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 16, 2024Previous reviewEverything was delicious. I just couldn't eat it all. Neither could my daughter I had the Reuben. She had the cheeseburger plain and we shared some french fries. Classic restaurant in New York.!
Great service, we walked in and got seated right away, I asked for a booth and our waiter was very friendly and food was out very quick.
Loved the restaurant decor .
We plan to come back for the cheesecake before we leave NYC. - Jun 30, 2024
Service was wonderful, food portions were beyond expectation (gladly for the price) and restaurant was clean.
The dining room is large with table seating and counter, plus a very nice outdoor covered patio.
I took the recommendations from our waiter. I ordered my favorite deli sandwich, a turkey reuben, but it wasn't my favorite as it basically was a huge turkey sandwich with very little coleslaw and a housemade thousand island dressing served on the side that I found not what I'm used to & not really liking it;however, my husband thought it tasted wonderful. Portion size was overkill but it was also expensive and because we were traveling I did eat it all, but I could have made 3 sandwiches out of it. So glad I didn't order a side and took dessert to go. My husband highly recommends his selection of Southern fried chicken breast, came with gravy, mashed potatoes and vegetables of day which was a squash medley and VERY good! He also got dessert to go.
Once we digested a little, a few hours later we had 1/2 of our dessert which was a small slice for the price paid. Hubby got brownie cheesecake which he thought was delicious. I had the red velvet cake since I'm nit a cheesecake lover. The cake was ok, too pricey and I've had better from a local grocery store.
All in all, a good find, great portions, but expect pricey being in Times Square; however entrees portion size makes it worthy of price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
