No. Street or garage parking only. On game days, I would suggest to Uber/lyft

Dana and Rose are INCREDIBLE people. Blessing our existence. Made our entire year. 10/10 would recommend. Loved them! They are super hot and absolutely the finest people I have ever seen.

They were amazing they literally saved me from a burning building, without hesitation. They are literally the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. They can literally change water into wine. Realest people alive.

Great view of the surrounding area.
The food is excellent, every bite was tasty with a unique taste.
Service, I have to say very accommodated, always came around to check on us and assured the glasses were full of water or other drinks, if you know what I mean.
I'm sure I'm coming back for a second experience and try others dishes.

More of a 3.5 than a 4 for those wondering

      Pros:
      - can take large groups at last minute as long as you call in advance (there were 9 of us!)
      - the scenery is wonderful
      - rolls are delicious
      - servers are nice and hospitable

      Cons:
      - a bit pricey as shareable is more of a shareable for 2-3 people
      - can get super cold (no heat lamps where we sat, or maybe they weren't working?)
      - food getting out can be slow and inconsistent

The overall charge was around $700+ with tip and tax included

To explain better what I meant...

The ceviche trio was small, considering it costs around $40+ I would avoid ordering this if you're hungry and you're sharing amongst a group

The rolls are definitely the way to go when ordering amongst a large group.

The food was brought out at different times, which is good, but also bad because the servers brought them but didn't let us know if everything was out yet. So mid-way through the service, we thought everything was out when they asked us if everything was good. So we ended up ordering double for some items that haven't been delivered yet.

To be fair, we should have asked, and they could have checked for us.

Another point is to bundle up warmly as this is a rooftop seating. I didn't know we would be at the rooftop as my friend just said the restaurant name (not Kaiyo rooftop). Most of us ended up getting super cold as it got closer to the evening. There were heatlamps, but none in our location.

For those who drive - street parking or the garage is the way to go here.

      Highlights of memorable food:
Ceviche roll (sorry didn't take a picture of this)
      Bluefin tuna roll
      Kaarage

The Lomo Saltado roll was also good, but it gets salty after more than 1-2 bites.

I'd return, but maybe when there's warmer weather.

      -Ambiance is nice at night.
      -Neighborhood seems safe.
-Giving three stars because the service wasn't good. The waitress wasn't friendly nor was she helpful when we asked her about the menu. There were other staff that were more helpful than our waitress.
-Food is ok. Nothing that would wow you or make you come back.
-Wagyu slider was dry, meat didn't have much flavor. The sauces for the oysters didn't really go well with it. Hamachi was good but steep price for only 3 pcs. Crab and scallop roll was good. Tuna sashimi was good. Drinks were ok.

Kaiyo Rooftop is really beautiful. It's located on top on a hotel and has nice views of the city and super tropical vibes.

The cocktails were really really good. The food was just meh . We got some shrimp and ceviche. Neither tasted fresh or had much flavor.

The service was fine. Not excellent and not bad. I would go back for tropical drinks and views, but next time would not order food.

Had a birthday party here today.

      August 2024

      We had 19 people.

Service: delayed and moody and stressful
Food: Bluefin fatty tuna was good. Everything else was not.
Drinks: interesting and odd but overall overpriced and not good

      I'd avoid this place

This place is sooo vibey! It's beautifully decorated with lots of plants and florals. They have a decent amount of space on their rooftop but it books up fast.

It's nice for a special occasion but definitely charged the premium for food and drinks to go with the ambience. We shared a bunch of plates for 5 people including the sushi, karaage, beef, corn ribs and yucca fries. It was all delicious but don't think it was enough to fill everyone up. The cocktails were great, super fruity and tropical.

Think the main downside was the service. It took a while for the drinks to come out, probably cause the bartender was so backed up. But we had a friend just order N.A. seltzer and they completely forgot about it. Or just didn't bring it out until the very end

The ambience is beautiful it looks just like a dream and the pictures you see. It's definitely worth checking out the San Francisco skyline. My server Zach was super kind and timely. The beautiful drink I ordered was per his recommendation. Unfortunately the food we ordered didn't live up to the other sum of its parts. I would 100% recommend stopping by for some drinks but whatever you do don't order the chicken karage. I would consider coming back to try their brunch items though.

Located on the rooftop of Hyatt Place, the entrance is on Townsend St. Beautiful rooftop and views especially on a rare hot summer day in SF (high 70 degrees).

Came after work for drinks with a friend - the drinks were decent but a hefty $18 per drink. We also ordered the chicken katsu sando and the papas fritas. Both were very tasty and the papas fritas was a really big portion for the price.

Service was okay; it was a little hard to track down a waiter for us to order a second round of drinks.

Note that this place charges a 4% SF fee on both the subtotal and the sales tax - not a fan of this because it's sneaky, and if a business is going to charge this fee I don't think it should be charging it on the sales tax too...

It's a nice place to come on a warm day, but a bit overpriced for the food/drinks and service.

We had the opportunity to dine at Kaiyo Rooftop and later visit the restaurant below for drinks and dessert, as the rooftop does not serve dessert.

The experience started off poorly when both my dining partner and I got lost looking for the entrance, separately. The hotel had rerouted the entrance to a side door due to complaints from lodgers about shared entrances and elevators, but the signage was small and confusing. Even the employees seemed frustrated, as customers had been complaining frequently.

It took me a long time to find the entrance because it looked like an employee entrance, and there was no one outside to assist except for the front lobby staff, who directed us "right and right", causing me to be late for our reservation. This was particularly stressful for me as I like to be punctual, and walking around in heels in the city is not pleasant.

On the day we dined at the rooftop, it was extremely windy. Our napkins and mostly empty beer cans kept wanting to blow away, and we had to hold down my wine glass to prevent it from tipping over.

Despite these challenges, the food was above average, especially the short ribs. Kayla (?), our server, was fantastic and accommodating, always smiling. Since the place was packed, it took a while to get our drinks, including my friend's beer, but this wasn't the fault of the bartender or server--it was just a busy night.

Interestingly, the crowd was mixed: one side had an older crowd, while the other side, near the restroom, had a younger, millennial group. The venue is definitely a place to be seen, with stunning views of the bay and the city, located right across from PayPal Park where the Giants play.

As for parking, it's hit or miss in the city. I took the Caltrain to meet my dinner partner, who parked for $40 across the street due to a Giants game. So, be aware of game nights when planning your visit.
