Was exited to see they opened a Japanese restaurant that serves authentic ramen. After a night of drinking, my friends and I decided to try this place the next day for some ramen. My friends ordered tan tan men and I ordered the karaage (fried chicken) ramen. We waited about 15 minutes and till our order came out. My karaage ramen was very good. Broth was authentic and you can tell the noodles were fresh. My friends seemed to like their tan tan men as well.

Definitely coming back to check out their other ramen specials like oxtail ramen and pork belly ramen.

I also ended up ordering the unagi don for take out. Best unagi don I have tried in Sacramento. Good sized portion, unagi sauce not too sweet and love they add Japanese pickles on the side. Unagi was fresh as well.

      Can't wait to come back!

I have been to Kansai a few times with friends and it's always been on point! Parking can be a bit challenging. It's not a big restaurant and can get busy but we have never had an issue getting a table.

Our server was very friendly and checked on our table frequently. Our table ordered the fried calamari, edamame, gyoza, and raw oysters for starters. The calamari was great and the dipping sauce was excellent! The raw oysters were fresh! We ordered some sashimi and rolls as well. The sashimi was excellent, very fresh fish! We all enjoyed our rolls which were the Kansai, Spicy Vargas, and 65th. My son ordered the bone marrow ramen which he really enjoyed.
Kansai is a great little sushi and ramen spot!

Daughter is a big ramen and hotpot fan, so we are always on lookout for Ramen places to try. We decided on this one for weekday early dinner, there wasn't any waiting time and we were seated immediately. The service is attentive but I think they were short handed and probably had tons of orders and patrons, so there was a slight delay.
There are limited to no options for vegetarian or vegans, most of their brothers are chicken and pork based. My daughter loved here order but mine tasted bitter for some reason and I couldn't have more than couple of spoonfuls. Besides ramen we also ordered wakame, spicy edamame and veggie tempura (I wouldn't recommend).
The ambience is casual and good for dinner with family and friends.

Meh. Not worth it. If you're looking for real Japanese food please go to Akebono on Freeport.
I ordered Katsu Don and my husband ordered beef rib ramen. Both were not impressive at all.
Katsu was severely overcooked and it was not even saucy which resulted in super dry rice. Akebono's Katsu Don's portion size was way bigger and it's a lot a lot tastier than this. It's truly a disappointment.
My husband's ramen was also weirdly season. It's got mushroom and sprouts in there which is odd. With a $20 ramen, they should've given more beef rib rather than just one. Will not visit again.

We visited Kansai Ramen & Sushi House for lunch to place a takeout order. They weren't very busy on a Saturday, with only 1 or 2 parties dining in. The interior had tables and bar seating, with minimal decor. For food, I chose the Spicy Jackie roll and Veggie Gyoza, and my friend got the Pork Katsu Bento Box. The food didn't take long at all - maybe 10 -15 minutes. Unfortunately, I wasn't crazy about either of my items. The Spicy Jackie roll didn't have crab listed as one of the ingredients, but it was definitely inside the roll. There wasn't much hamachi on top either, and the flavors didn't really go together - it was unexpectedly heavy on lemon. The Veggie Gyoza were just okay, and tasted like they came frozen from a grocery store. My friend's Pork Katsu Bento Box was also a bit mediocre. Overall, not terrible, but definitely not worth the pricing.

Went off the review ratings and distance and unfortunately it did not live up to the 4 star review. It's really a 2.5 out server was friendly and I appreciate 2 restrooms for a smaller spot. we ordered the bone marrow ramen and the house ramen and both were so bland. It's like they watered down the broth the taste and the consistency were just off. The Uni special and the sushi roll were just ok as well.

One my favorite sushi restaurant in Sacramento. The owner is super personable and friendly. He has a great team of staff working here as well. This place is usually hopping but the nice thing is they usually have a table open so you will not wait long.

This is my go to for both sushi and ramen. Sushi is hella fresh and the ramen is made with bone broth that they create on site. A great, friendly crew. Get a warm sake. Excellent.

Don't sleep on Kansai. This spot is very underrated for their sushi and ramen. My go-to is the King Kong roll. It's so massive, I can only eat half and usually bring the rest to-go. Their calamari is pretty good, too, but instead of putting shredded carrots on top, they should put fresh slices of jalapenos. That would be a game changer!

Service was pretty quick. I went on a weekday around 1pm and was seated right away. The ambiance is very casual and a place to stop by if you have an hour to spare for some good, quality food. Parking is tricky but since Starbucks next door closed, you are able to find parking there, if you're lucky. Thanks, Kansai! I am looking forward to coming back to try other menu items.

Yum yum yum! Kansai is in my neighborhood so it's an easy walk away, but well worth the trip if you have to make it. Everyone is super nice and the food is always fantastic. I love this place!!
