Kaplan Lane Motorcycle Parking

I've avoided writing a review of this place for a while... since... when I needed a motorcycle spot the last thing I needed was anymore competition which I'm sure my abundant followers would provide.

Now that I'm walking to work, screw you all.

So, my relationship with Kaplan Ln motorcycle parking has been very mixed. It's loving embrace has kept my commute cheap for several years. But it hasn't always been good to me.

I've lost one motorcycle back here. True, it was a good excuse to get a new one, but finding your motorcycle flattened by some large truck when you're ready to ride home is never nice. Whoever you are truck driver, I curse you. May you experience daily blowouts and you lose your dick to a truck stop whore.

Also, these days with metered parking almost as expensive as parking a car in a garage, the demand for the free parking is a little extreme. If you get there after 9:30 you're pretty much out of luck. There was a town hall meeting at some point about adding meters back there which will no doubt close that budget gab... greedy rich motorcycle riders you.... so Kaplan Ln legacy may be short-lived.

If you can afford it, the Mascone lot is like $6 a day. Open 24hrs. Way safer.

*a*b*u*n*d*a*n*t* motorcycle parking that's strides away from Moscone center, Yerba Beuna Gardens and SFMOMA. Tiny note that's, y'know, likely of little interest... it's free. Gratis. No cuesta nada. Really. And what's more, it's safe at most all hours in my experience. Which sort've stands to reason given the surrounding businesses: the early-morning dark is monitored by the Starbucks' clientele, the late-evening hours are overseen by Thirsty Bear's patrons. Plus, the walk from your parked bike back to the real world is through either an architecturally rich alleyway or a sculpture garden, depending on which direction you're headed. Win all around.

I was liking this place, but I had both my Harley Hard Saddlebags stolen off my bike today. It's going to cost me $1000 to replace if I buy used ones. Can't believe no one saw this happening. It's not like there is no foot traffic in this alley.

Real cool San Francisco. Meters? Really?
