We had such a fun time on our first visit to the new trendy Tiki Bar, Kapu. The interior is very fun, and divided into sections. There is the main large bar and seating area with smaller sections on the periphery. One area has a few pinball machines and low seating areas. The music was a wee bit too loud when we arrived, 2:10pm. We didn't have a Rez, but, as the bar was just opening on a Saturday afternoon, we were able to be sat down right away at the mostly empty bar. The hostess was very gracious and made sure we had all of the menus. Right away, Ashleigh greeted us promptly and continued to help us make decisions on what to order throughout our stay. We started with a classic
Mai Tai and she suggested Tropical Itch we loved both. We also ordered two bites. The poke nachos and the boiled peanuts. My hubby loved the peanuts, I couldn't get over how messy they were, as they are served shell on and covered with the ginger scallion sauce. The poke was more successful, but, I felt the portion was disappointing at the cost of $24. The second round we decided to try the blended frozen premade drinks. The Banana Foster and the Saturn. The Foster is yummy with a very banana forward taste, and the Saturn was nicely tart. We would love to go back as we found the whole experience very fun and tasty.

Tropical itch and the Classic MainTai, both excellent!

Went in yesterday for a birthday surprise since we hadn't been yet. Even just walking in the door you feel like you're entering a whole new world. As soon as you enter you see stone walls with plants and flowers everywhere, awesome lights, and Tiki decor.
Went at 4 on a Wednesday and wasn't packed. We got to sit in a sweet booth that gives you privacy while still being able to enjoy all the sweet lights.
      Our server Mel was amazing!
We tried the drink of the day which was delicious and also got a few different cocktails and all were really good.
Food wise we tried the lodes fries they had oh mah gawd the lumpia!!! We ended up ordering a second order of them because they were bomb. The pepper water at the table was soo good. Overall we had a wonderful experience and talked about everything we liked there throughout the rest of the night. I definitely recommend going on a weekday during happy hour. And of course we got down on the pinball machines.

Came here for a Tiki dinner last week because I LOVE themed restaurants! This is tiki theme with hints of Hawaiian/Chinese/Polynesia and maybe a little Indiana Jones with all the skulls in the walls. You are transported to an island somewhere else!

I came here for the Tiki food of course..the lumpias, garlic chicken, adobo fried rice and house salad. It was a lot of food for two and ended up eating it for dinner the next night as well. Food was good given that it's a bar. Lots of flavors, loved the dipping sauces and their special "peppa water" spice sauce on the table. The only thing I would change was how oily the food was, it was gleaming and soaking!

For someone who doesn't drink, they have also serve mocktails and $5 from each mocktail will be donated to No Kid Hungry. Love it! I think whether you just wanna do the bar or have dinner, this is a fun, unique place to grab a bite or drink!

I rarely give out 5 stars but Kapu deserves nothing less. The setting is well done with a different Tiki-feel to each of their dining areas. The service was top-notch: very friendly and efficient. The food was fresh, tasty, and each generous portion was more than enough to share.

And the drinks, the reason to go to a bar, were excellent! Not watered down, not too sour or sweet, etc. Their 1944 Mai Tai was on par with the best I've had.

A selection of vintage pinball machines was a nice surprise. They sadly weren't all working, but in that I didn't expect any pinballs I wasn't disappointed.

The highest compliment a patron can give is a return visit. I look forward to my next one!

What an absolute gem of a tiki bar in Petaluma! If you're looking for a fun bar with great music over the weekend, look no further. The interior is decorated beautifully, it's like being transported into a different world. The cocktails are tropical and fruity, and the overall vibe of the place was nonstop fun from 9 pm when we got there to 11 pm when we left. The cocktails aren't the strongest but still definitely worth a visit.

What a fun place! The drinks! The vibe! The staff! All worth the stop! We love to visit tiki bars whenever we travel and this did not disappoint! They had a great bar menu and delicious drinks! We did not try the food but saw it delivered to a few tables and they were large portions and everyone seemed delighted

Fun tiki spot. They have been open about a year. Please note that the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesdays (snacks only), but it's also all day happy hour! We enjoyed the $8 dark n stormys and $10 mai tais. Bartender was great. Cheers.

I love a good Tiki bar and Kapu is one of the best! I've been here multiple times now and have yet to be disappointed. The drinks are all created to perfection with a wide range of rum cocktails to choose from. I recently tried their lumpia for the first time which was delicious so need to go back to try more items on the menu. It is on the pricey side with most drinks being $16 but I would say it's well worth the price. The restaurant transports you out of petaluma to a place where life doesn't seem so stressful. Great service, fun game, and they even have live music for the first Friday of every month. You are truly missing out if you don't go check out Kapu Bar.

What a delightfully different vibe in the middle of Petaluma!

The vibe of Kapu targets 20-30 somethings with colorful flashing lights across its walls and ceilings, and half a dozen machine games to the left when you walk in.
The Maitre'd was polite but not particularly friendly or inviting. She seemed a bit overwhelmed.
For all its dim coziness, the vibe is busy and engaging. On a Friday night with no reservations. I took a seat at the bar.
Ordered a Presidente drink and chicken garlic pupu. The drink was excellent with a wonderful twist of tangerine.

Service was slightly confusing in that the bartender forgot what I ordered and it had to be repeated. The garlic chicken pupu was overdone, and the meat was dry, but the seasoning was very tasty. A good combo all in all.

About 4-5 men in Hawaiian shirts walked around scanning--perhaps verifying--the order activities, which seemed to be a method of overcompensating for previous issues, but that's just a guess! All in all, it was an interesting and positive experience.

Park on street or in next door parking structure.
