Kevin's Gardening Service

They weeded / manicured our front and back yard, which hadn't been touched (aside from some occasional lawn mowing) for over a year. They also gave me some reasonable estimates on return quarterly visits. I will definitely use Kevin's Gardening again!

UPDATE and correction: I assumed I would receive a phone call after I reached out to Kevin on Yelp, so when that call did not occur I assumed that was "no response". Kevin reached out to me after I posted this review to say he had messaged me through Yelp, which I had not checked before posting that he did not contact me. I appreciate his communication and I am proceeding with my request to have him come out to give an estimate for monthly service in Alameda.

I found Kevin's Gardening Service through a flyer sent to my home. I saw the great reviews online and decided to give them a call for a consultation.

Tom was very informative and shared some cost saving options to update our front and back yard space when we met. We started off with a front/back yard clean up and OMG what a job they did! We hadn't performed any maintenance on the yards since it had been raining and it had gotten so embarrassingly out of hand. Our space is small, but Jamie and team knocked out the clean up in only 2 hours! They even helped to break down a planter box that was falling apart, relocate the soil and take out an old post that had no use. We did two walk throughs and Jamie and I chatted about future projects we'll want to do - again the knowledge and suggestion this team has was so helpful because I am otherwise clueless. We'll definitely be calling them again for a few more updates!

Kevin and his team removed the weeds in the backyard patio, which was fast and efficient. They finished in less than an hour! His team was also friendly and respectful!

Customer Service: Easy to call and confirm dates and times of arrival and completion of project.

Timeliness: He was right on time of when he would be able to arrive.

I cannot tell you how much I love the work that Kevin's Gardening did in my yard. I gave a vague description of what I wanted and my budget and Tom created the yard of my dreams. There were even little solar lights that looked like tiki flames when it gets dark. The crew worked quickly and cleanly.

Kevin and his nephew, John, has been very responsive and helpful in taking care of our back yard. They replaced the irrigation system and fixed all the issues. A bit pricey but overall I recommend them for any gardening services.

I had Tom Thai out for a tree removal project - I had two medium sized Loquats that I wanted removed in order to plant an avocado tree. While the service was on the expensive side the work was top-notch. They removed the two trees so well I'm having a hard time believing they were there! They removed all the trimmings and left my side yard very neat and clean, all within about two hours.

I hired Tom Thai and his crew for our landscape project. They did a nice job for a fair price, speaking as a picky architect. We had a 66-foot long property line fence replaced, various plants and mulch installed, some minor concrete cutting/patching, replaced a small area of sod, and constructed a small wood shed. They even included some basic complimentary pruning and weeding. Overall fine work, diligent and pleasant crew that came every day on time, and were very accommodating. Tom was an excellent communicator which is appreciated.

I think the shed was the tough part of the job. To be fair, Tom did say he didn't have experience building sheds, but assured me he was willing to take it on. It took some rework and more effort and time than I'm sure they bargained for -- and ultimately, the craftsmanship suffered. Knowing that the guys went above and beyond with this tough portion of the work, and that they wanted to move on the next job, I didn't bother them with it. My recommendation is that they are great for all things landscape, but shed building experience is on a learning curve.

Kevin and his team did a fantastic job removing weeds, dead overgrown bushes, trimming the trees and shrubs, checking sprinkler system and cleaning after the work was done. The team arrived on-time, they completed a huge clean-up job in one day. The front and back yard looks so good! It's a pleasure now to be in the space. Huge thank you to Kevin, Jon and team. We will continue working with Kevin on additional projects.

We are super happy with how our project turned out from Kevin's Gardening Service. The entire process was top notch from start to finish. Tom was very personable and helpful along the way, keeping us updated every step and accommodating our needs. The crew led by Jamie was great too, very respectful, hard working, and finished the job quicker than we could have imagined. They did great work and always cleaned up at the end of the day. I would highly recommend these guys for your next project!

Tom was excellent to work with. His communication was exceptional, especially given I am remote. He was flexible in terms of what I wanted to do (he created an a la carte proposal), and didn't bristle at my taking on certain elements myself. I ended up hiring his team to clear my yard of weeds, install a decomposed granite patio, and plant plants I selected and purchased myself. And he did this all on short notice, squeezing me into his schedule, at a competitive cost. I couldn't be happier with the results.
