We purchased a 2017 Kia Sorento last year (2023). The car buying stage went well. Our mistake started when we purchased the extended warranty from them too, which of course they pushed hard in the closing, but the sales process had gone so well through that point so we were inclined to trust them further.

We loved the idea of an almost bumper-to-bumper extended warranty to help cover repair costs for the little electronics that are bound to fail over time but typically cost a lot to repair.

Bad mistake. The $3,000 extended warranty now feels like it was a total scam. Every time we've called the service center about anything, even regular maintenance, the service department never gives us a straight answer on whether the work would be covered (obviously the regular maintenance wouldn't be, but they charge exorbitant prices for it anyway). They also always charge a considerable inspection fee, so you're out at least $200-$300 just to have them tell you something won't be covered, which it almost never would be thanks to small print they conveniently hide behind.

It's all just a big scam IMO. Buyer beware. If all you want to do is buy a car from them, or you're only going to purchase a new vehicle with the manufacturer's factory warranty, then you'll probably be alright, but I'd strongly advise against purchasing an extended warranty from them. Save that $3,000 or more and put it toward the eventual repairs you'll have to make at a better garage.

I wasn't looking to buy a car as I was content with ny 2007 Toyota Yaris in which it has been an awesome car. For some strange reason I was drawn to checking out a Kia Stinger. I've always liked and admired those cars thinking it looks so mich as a luxury car like an Audi A7 with the hefty price tag. I saw this hardly used 2019 Stinger with 24,608 miles, immaculate condition.
I decided to call and Hugh answered the phone who was very helpful and I told him I would be coming down from Oakland. On my drive I was thinking to myself "do I need a new car? "Do I need a car note". I was almost going to changw my mind but my gut was telling me GO FOR IT!

I parked my yaris in front and summons for Hugh to the first sales guy I saw. He said "ooh Hugh seems to be popular today, let me call him". Hugh emmerges within 3 minutes and locates the car. Of course another car was blocking it so by the time he got it out, we were ready to hit the road. He asked for my DL in which he made a copy. When he returned, he handed me the keys and yes take it around. I was like excuse me? You mean your not going with me. Im not from here. He said ok and called a wonderful young man name Cory. Cory had an infectious smile and an awesome personality.

I went to test drive and noticed how awesome this car is. Has all the bells & whistles as the luxury car. I checked and the wheels were free of curb rash, had the owners manual and a set of key fobs and did I mentioned has

I decided Im taking it. Running credit and going through all that wasnt that long. I shortly met April who was also great in helping me. Overall I had a wondeful experience and glad I drove all the way to Novato for my dream car.

Eddy at KIA of Marin was extremely helpful. They provided updates on my repair status and recommendations for future repair actions for my EV .

They do an excellent updating all the firmware and software for my Nav & Audio system.

Kia of Marin always takes great care of my care and goes above and beyond cleaning, charging, and washing the car prior to me picking it up.

The service at Kia is way better than I expected. I have had an Audi for the past 9 years and thought, at first, their service was great. It has greatly deteriorated. Now, you wait weeks to get an appointment and your car is never ready in one day. Unacceptable!!

I've had two service appointments at Kia in my first 6 months with my Telluride. Each time, everything done on time, properly communicated and well done.

I give Matthew Forsyth, service manager, an A+ for being customer focused, honest and reliable. Great job, Kia Service!

I'm on my third Kia and have been very happy with the cars. I had my last two for 12 years each before trading them in. The service team at Marin Kia is also excellent.

However, stay away from Kia Finance! I need a copy of my title from KF to get commercial plates. I have requested it six times over the last six months. Each time they say they will send it, but never do. Also, each time they make it harder to request. First it was via text, then via email, then I sent request from DMV, then I had to mail a request letter to KF via USPS. Last time I had to fax the request because they said they could not receive emails (welcome to the 20th century)!

I also have to fault April at Marin Kia. When I bought the vehicle, I told her I wanted commercial plates. She told me in order to get commercial plates I had to get the title from Kia Finance, which led to my problems. Later I found out that the dealership should have applied for the plates, which is how I got commercial plates for my last Kia.

In sum, buy a Kia, get service at Marin Kia -- but DON'T USE KIA FINANCE.

Kia of Marin is a great dealership. Their service department especially Matthew Forsyth was great. They provide fantastic customer service and understand what my needs are.
I have sent my friends who live out of the county to Kia of Marin. They mentioned they will continue to drive to this dealership because everyone is friendly and responsive.
Personally I will continue to recommend Kia of Marin because of Matthew great service.

Eddy was very friendly and took the time to explain everything to me regarding my vehicle repairs. I was happy with how quick my vehicle repair was. I'm glad I brought my car to KIA of Marin!

I would never recommend this Kia dealership! I had a Kia in the past and always had great customer service at this location. My next vehicle was a Hyundai and I ended up selling it because of the horrible customer service and ended up going back to Kia. Today I call the Kia service to schedule an appointment to address 2 recall issues and get my oil changed. I am informed that they will need my car for the day. When I asked for a loaner they told me that I could pay to rent one. This was never the case before, I was always just given a loaner. I cannot believe that they are expecting me to pay to rent a car for an issue that is a recall. I was then told that the new owner made this decision and it has nothing to do with Kia. Looks like it's time to sell the Kia and find a brand that sees value in loyal customers.

Shout out to Kia service department and to Matthew for excellent customer service. My Kia needed major work covered with my policy. It was going to take time to get approval for the repairs, so they gave me a very nice loaner. A few weeks later, Matthew called said it was ready forfor pickup. Was clean inside and out. Everything was explained to me about what was done, and I drove away happy. My 2013 car is running fantastic with 115k miles.
      Thanks Kia!
