      Craving Japanese food to go.
We ordered a Tonkatsu Soup Ramen with an extra egg and spinach and Shoyu Soup Ramen.
Both were delicious and the broth was flavorful.

I saw this place on YouTube offering their all you can eat menu and it got me really excited! However it became one of the worst sushi experiences of my life. I came in at around 6:30pm and I waited until 8:15pm for only the first round to finish! They even only limit you to 15 dishes at a time. The place wasn't even packed. There were only 4 tables in use.

On top of the slow pace, the sushi tasted really off. To the point that my friends didn't want to eat it. The uni was bitter, the toro had tendons in it, and some of the fish just tasted off. However the fried chicken and the fried rice was good.

At the end of the meal we had half fried rice leftover we didn't want to finish and our waitress scolded us for ordering too much. I thought that was really rude and told her we have been here for 3 hours and none of the food was coming out, who eats continuously for 3 hours?

Overall, a really disappointing experience. It just felt stingy and as a customer I feel a little cheated.

Another good family dinner. My mother in law had a hard time ordering wine. After talking to the other waitress, it seems our waitress didn't know what wine was or didn't know the English word for wine. The other waitress had to explain to her what we wanted and called it something else. In the end my mother in law got her glass of white wine. A must for dinner. All but, one time they didn't serve wine. It was almost a deal breaker. She's used to having wine at dinner. We saw someone brought their own bottle of sake. Maybe we should just carry our own bottle of wine just in case.

They redecorated since last time we were there. They removed the room divider near the bathroom and put up a fabric room divider on the door so the entrance to the bathroom is disguised. With out the room divider and their bookshelf it really opens up the room. It looks so much bigger with more tables. They got rid of the long table too. Now they just have 4 seater tables. I assume if you have a larger party you can put two tables together. They also add fabric runners on the ceiling with a Japanese motif. They also hung lanterns. It's really nice. They still kept the plastic pumpkin basket on the sushi bar along with the waving cat.

Dinner was good. I ordered the bento box. I had the California roll and fried tofu appetizer . It comes with miso soup a salad with superb dressing. I believe it's miso dressing and rice.

Service was good other than the miscommunication about the wine. They took our empty dishes when they brought the different courses. There was only 2 other parties there while we were there. It was a very relaxed environment. We weren't rushed out. We never have a problem getting a table. We were a Friday around 6:30 p.m. They also have their own private lot. There was plenty of parking space this time. Some times it fills up, but we've always gotten a spot, sometimes the last spot, but that still counts.

Honestly, we had decent service and food was tasty; however, I looked at other tables and the tables were occupied for a protracted amount of time due to only one server during dinner time and orders were slow to get to their tables. Two sushi chefs who I'm not sure speak any English were not very helpful when I approached them for assistance while the server was in the kitchen prepping bento boxes. Honestly can't blame the server as she assisted us whenever we waved her down, but she definitely needed HELP.

The four of us shared a dinner bento of Kalbi, Chicken Katsu, and Tempura. It was very good with two nicely done strips of Kalbi, tempura that was crisp and hot, and one of the better Chicken Katsus that we've had in a long time. We also ordered a Sushi/Sashimi/Roll platter that consisted of 9 pieces of chefs' choice nigiri, 15 slices of five kinds of fish (salmon, maguro, albacore, toro, Haimachi) and three rolls. We thought it was a good deal and the fish was fresh. Maybe our timing was right as we got there before most of the crowd and ordered quickly.

Oh well, get some help as the food is good.

Small little spot off a main street, can't miss it, with adequate parking available. Service was great and accommodating.

Karaage - (3/5): Great crunch and flavor, though pieces were very small

Shoyu ramen - (3/5): Decent portion size, the pork belly was a bit fattier than I typically like but I enjoyed the ample amount of it.

Omakase nigiri - (1/5): Never again, I not only had repeat pieces but some of them made me gag and I couldn't chew some of the pieces. I did not end up finishing the box. The fish was not fresh and some fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Hard pass.

Love this sushi place as food is always fresh and tasty!

Sashimi is so good, and we got filled up already by having sashimi only.

Staff and servers are so friendly and attentive.

Kigawa is located in a very small plaza, so it may be easily missed. There is very limited parking here, so it is not the most convenient. I usually get my food to go, as the restaurant is tiny inside with very limited seating. Service is decent and the prices are a bit pricey for what you get.

I usually order their Sake Maki and Salmon Nigiri. On my last visit, I added a couple of different hand rolls as well. The salmon tasted decent, it had this aftertaste to it, but it was okay. Overall, the food was alright, but the quality of the fish did not justify the price point.

Above average sushi spot. Had the kamikaze and rainbow rows and miso Ramen. The bowls are decent size and come with a split egg, seaweed, pork, etc. the service is very good. All the sushi rolls and ramen bowls all started at around $12 - $15. Bento dinners are $22-$25. Parking lot is small but there is street parking

Kagawa is one of my favorite sushi spots in the San Leandro marina area. Every visit is a delightful experience! The Alaska ham is my go-to, along with the fried tofu--both are consistently excellent. Today, I decided to try the scallops, and they were delicious as always. The quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients, and the friendly service make Kagawa a standout. Highly recommended for sushi lovers!

My friend and I went to Kigawa for brunch on the weekend. We got there right when they opened. For the 2 hours that we were there, we didn't see any other guests, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Right after we got seated, our server brought us hot tea while we looked at the menu to decide what we wanted to order.
We tried the frog legs skewers, omakase nigiri, and the sushi combo. The sushi combo included 8 pieces of nigiri with 1 roll of your choice (California roll, spicy tuna roll, or spicy salmon roll).

The prices of both the omakase and the nigiri deluxe combo were pretty good, and the cut of the fish in each nigiri piece was pretty big. Some nigiri pieces were too fishy and chewy, so we weren't a fan of those. The uni was not as fresh, and the wasabi was a bit overpowering in some sushi. My friend liked the frog legs skewers. In the end, we also got a small dessert drink free of cost to finish things off. It was very smooth and sweet.

Overall, it was a decent experience.
