Relatively new when we finally gave this Japanese spot a try. The menu is pretty extensive with appetizers, sashimi, rolls, sushi, robata, soba noodles and much more!
- Quality and presentation are on par with some of the better Japanese restaurants in Vancouver.
- Service is friendly and attentive.
- Highlights:
*Robata items done very well, tip: take your time to order and stagger the items so that you get them fresh off the robata grill!!
*Sushi is very fresh and the rice / fish ration is just right! Having too big a piece of fish may not be the best combination of taste and texture, but that trend had been made popular in Japan where fierce competition had created a "school" of Sushi Chefs that pride themselves with making extra large sushi, personally, I still prefer the "one mouthful" size.
*Soba was done el dente, and the dipping sauce provides just the right savoury/sweet taste to highlight the smooth chewiness of the soba noodles.
All in all, this is an outstanding Japanese "Izakaya" style eatery that provides a higher standard in both ingredients and presentation, if you just wanted to come in for some sake or an ice cold beer, this will be a great place for you to relax and enjoy your drinks with some good quality dishes!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Gladys C.Vancouver, Canada17167749May 23, 2024
Blue fin sushi melt on your tongue worth your money you'll be smiling after
The ebi tempuras were okay. They put mushroom tempura on full order.
The oyster motoyaki was little disappointing. I really thought it was "oyster " but I saw 2 mussels in shell covered the cream.
The last, .... The sukiyaki it was a bomb! I've been looking for authentic good sukiyaki and I found a contender. It was verrry good sukiyaki I was full and happy
Service was good too.
The place was cool and Japanese ambience you can do "dating mode" , "family mode" and "get together mode " in this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 21, 2022

Prices are quite high but the food itself is quite good and service is impeccable!
We Ordered:
Seafood Nabe - star of the night, a huge hot pot full of veggies, an assortment of seafood, glass noodles all soaked in a savoury and flavourful broth. They bring the pot to you with a gas stove so it stays hot and cooks right before your eyes!
Soft Shell Crab - small portion for the price but nice and crispy.
Chicken Karaage - again, a small portion but this was very good and eaten up very quickly! Crispy and flavourful, they do their hot foods well!
Tuna Tataki - thin slices of fresh tuna in a tangy ponzu sauce with a little bit of mixed greens to cut the acid.
Beef Carpaccio - similar to the tuna tataki, tender slices of beef in a nice ponzu sauce. In hindsight, a little bit too similar to the tuna so I would suggest picking one or the other.
Assortment of Skewers (yakitori, tsukune, beef tongue, chicken gizzard, pork intestines, pork toro) - all were small but came in servings of two. Flavourful, not overcooked and great opportunity to try a variety. Can definitely get pricey!
Snorlax Roll, Charizard Roll and one more Pokemon roll i forgot the name of but has chopped scallop on top. The rolls are not too bad with a little bit more rice that was VERY vinegary (not that I minded too much). My favourite was the snorlax with a little bit of pickled radish in the middle along with Tamago and also some tuna.
Overall, a place to go if you're looking for a variety of dishes. Open late and nice service but you can very easily spend a lot here!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 27, 2021
I've been so addicted to this steak so but I since we got it for take out a while back. We keep coming back JUST for this now. Perfect conurbation of sweet and savoury. Aside from that we got a good variety of tapas from their menu as well.
We took baby with us to dine in this time and they were nice enough to provide a set of cutlery and plate to keep baby entertained.

I came here for dinner recently. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere and service was decent. In terms of food, I tried their Beef Carpaccio (Tataki), Tuna Tataki, Takoyaki, Sukiyaki, Assorted Sashimi, Dungeness Roll, Pikachu Roll, Salmon Oshi, and Unagi Oshi. For the tatakis, the beef was very tender and a bit on the thicker side and the tuna was slightly more sour than expected. The assorted sashimi was decent. The takoyaki, sukiyaki, and pikachu rolls were pretty good. What stood out the most were the dungeness roll with real crab meat and a nice balance of ingredients and flavour, and the salmon and unagi oshi with a nice flavour and good amount of salmon and unagi. Note that they have a minimum spend ($40) before credit cards can be used.

The robata was delicious and very well priced. Sushi was fresh, but on the more expensive side.
Get the quail egg wrapped in bacon, beef wrapped enoki and chicken liver. The grilled squid was tasty.
Overall we enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.

We found this restaurant thanks to a quick Yelp search. Parking was extremely limited on the lot, but there is paid street parking available. We were seated after a short wait at 8 pm for a late dinner.
We ordered a number of items and spoiled ourselves with some premium sashimi, nigiri, robata, and udon. There was complimentary cabbage to start. The sashimi and nigiri arrived first. The robata items arrived next before the udon. I was surprised the udon took so long because we finished eating everything else by then. It made for a nice lunch the next day.
The sushi and sashimi were amazingly fresh. There were some unique cuts of fish not found at the average Japanese restaurant such as kama otoro and chu toro bluefin tuna. The grilled items were pretty good. The udon I did not enjoy until the next day because I was too full by then. The meal costed just over $170 for two adults. Definitely, this was a treat once in awhile and not an every weekend type of meal.
Service was great. The restaurant was child friendly with kids bowls, cutlery and high chairs. Staff stopped by regularly to clear plates.
Covid precautions were in place. Temperature checks was done at the entrance. Hand sanitizer was available and contact information was collected for tracing purposes. Staff wore face masks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Matthew L.Richmond, Canada1463Feb 17, 2023
The food is great but the portion size is way too small for the price they charge. Service is pretty standard.
