La Roux

A very delicious place for desserts in downtown Vancouver! We sat in and got two desserts - the apricot bomb and the raspberry strawberry cake. The apricot bomb is one of their unique fall offerings and I loved the look of it. The outer chocolate layer was quite thick and made it hard to eat although once we were able to crack it open, it was quite delicious. The raspberry pistachio cake was absolutely divine - soft and airy - would highly recommend!

One of my vacation's best highlights is my morning coffee and fresh Croissants.
I Googled and found this little upscale French Bakery. La Roux Patisserie.
My wife and I arrived around 8:50 AM, ten minutes before they opened their doors. We noticed we would not be the first patrons, and a few other customers and one of the employees were outside waiting.
The owner and chef opened the door for the employee and announced that they would be opening for business shortly.
Anyways, after we got in, the same employee, with a very positive attitude and a big smile, served our coffee and Croissants.
We got three Croissants and two coffees.
The croissants were fresh, warm, and tasty, and the coffee was fresh, hot, dark, and perfect.
We enjoyed everything from the patio sitting to our choice of coffee and pastries in
La Roux, and most importantly, I recommend you go to this little upscale French Bakery, particularly if you are visiting Victoria. Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Flaky and buttery croissant along with rich cinnamon rolls for dessert, I mean breakfast :) is a wonderful way to start a Saturday morning before lots of dancing!

We loved eating here for breakfast on our last day visiting Victoria! Very nice staff and amazing selection of patisserie goods and hot drinks, loved the atmosphere and outdoor seating lovely. Highly recommend for a sweet treat and lovely place to sit!

What a great place. Everything was delicious and not overly sweet. Perfect place to have a pit stop. Bright and airy inside.

What a treat to find this patisserie! While we were visiting Victoria for part of a week, we ate breakfast here a couple of times. The first time we ate here I had the chocolate tart with passionfruit curd. It had a nice dark chocolate crust with a darker chocolate custard filling. The sweeter passion fruit curd on top provided the perfect balance for the dark chocolate. The explosion of flavors totally delighted me. My honey tried a favorite, an almond croissant, and smiled with every bite. The rich, butter croissant had plenty of almond paste inside, and toasted almonds on top. The cup of coffee "Americano" was top notch as well.
On our second visit my honey had the almond croissant with coffee again. I, on the other hand, thought I'd try another delight, tiramisu. I wasn't disappointed. The tiramisu comes in a round cup, and each layer full of flavorful goodness from the powdered cocoa on top, to coffee liquor on the bottom. (Be careful not to inhale the powdered cocoa on top.) Since I'm sensitive to caffeine, breakfast is the perfect time for this delectable dessert!
Sitting in this Patisserie makes me feel like I'm in France with the black and white tile floor to the French music softly playing (it is easily drowned out by the happy chatter of customers).

This is where you should go if you're craving some French pastries! La roux gives off a clean, airy feel. Our eyes caught sight of those delectable French pastries and baked goodies while we were walking, so we decided to stop! You're going to love this! This location is charming. I adore the design. It almost convinces you to visit Paris for pastries! A chocolate cookie and the Paris Brest were ordered! Omg! Hands down to the best Paris Brest in Victoria! It brought back fantastic memories of my vacations around Paris. The Paris brest consists of the greatest praline crème in and is served with pate a choux. The chocolate cookie was decadent and chewy. It's a perfect cookie. It was a pleasure to converse with the host/owner, and she gave outstanding service. There are seating tables inside for you to enjoy some Patisseries! We shall return. Highly recommend!!!

They sell Silk Road's tea. Tried angel water and liked it. Quaint little French cafe. Seems to have a lot of deserts. Service was timely.

Totally amazing pastries, that's all I got! You will not be disappointed and I'll be coming back for more

We ordered a vegan cup cake, a little pricey. Flavor was good. Presentation was okay. We ordered to go and instead of putting in a box that could hold the cupcake upright, it was put on the side so all the whipped cream was over.
Service was quick and helpful with questions. Nice small place. May go there for vegan options, but it appears to be limited.
