This place was fantastic! They were sold out of the avocado toast which was my first choice, but I ordered the breakfast sandwich instead and was not disappointed. The croissant was very fresh and flaky and the omelette was fluffy and refreshingly herby. I also ordered the special lychee sakura drink and "La Vie en Rose" entremet. The drink had a strong floral and fruity flavour. The whole lychee fruit was a nice touch. The entremet had a similar flavour profile to the drink, with fluffy rose-flavoured mousse surrounding a juicy lychee compote centre on top of a shortbread base. The pairing of delicate lychee and rose was a winner; this was as tasty as it was pretty. I found it very helpful when choosing my dessert that they had little diagrams showing what was inside each entremet, since these are multi-faceted desserts and the outward appearance doesn't always give away everything long on inside!
Besides the food, the interior is also very pretty. There are lots of seats, and the layout where the counter and line are on one side and the seating is all on the other side of the shop works well. The staff was friendly too.

Amazing confections! It's like eating those desserts that were showcased on Zumbo's Just Desserts. Layers and layers of beautiful flavours complement each other, and textures are silk and soft. Muah~

      Updated review

I have visited this bakery several times since their opening. They offer a variety of baked goods, such as croissants, scones, pastries, and chocolates.
It's so hard to choose which baked goods to pick.

      What I tried:
Matcha Croissant, Earl Grey Croissant, Garlic croissant- Their croissants are solid and come in Garlic , matcha or Earl Grey flavors. I prefer a croissant with a slightly crispier texture on the outside and a moist inside. However, they are still okay.

Cheese scone - It was just okay. The outside was a bit crispy, and the inside was moist. The cheese flavor was fine.

Flat croissant - They have some of the most Instagrammable croissants, and I got the matcha and strawberry flavors. The covered chocolate was very delicious; however, I prefer the croissant to be a bit crispier. I enjoyed them.

Crookie with vanilla gelato - I got one of the items from the Nomsmag Ice Cream Festival. The "Crookie" was chocolate chip cookie dough on top of a round-shaped croissant. I expected a hybrid texture, but it was just a cookie on top of croissant dough. The vanilla gelato was just okay.

My experience with the baked goods at this shop was just okay. However, I really enjoyed the variety of flavors. There are so many cute-looking pastries, and next time, I definitely plan to try these adorable pastries.

Can't wait to come back to try more pastries!! Tried out the mango flat croissant today and it was soooo buttery and flaky! It reminded me of a butterfly/palmier cookie! The mango white chocolate part wasn't screaming mango but the flavour was there. Love that they have sooo many cute cakes and also serve drinks too! I can't wait to be back to try some of their other treats like the mojito cruffin

The bakery is quite nice. Traffic was constant. The air con was barely on. It was quite warm and it wasn't that hot out today. The desserts looked good but the prices are sky high. Ordered some medium and large drinks and they were almost $7 each. Pretty pricey.

This neighbourhood feels up and coming, so La Saison de Patisserie totally fits the vibe. I can see parents gathering here or kids hanging out after class (there's an elementary school less than a block away). There's a lot of foot traffic, but plenty of space for everyone, so even though it was quite busy when I was there, it never got too loud or distracting. Lively, yet calm -- exactly the kind of atmosphere I love at a local cafe.

To drink, I had a small (8 oz) hojicha latte. It was unsweetened, which is how I prefer it, but you can ask for extra sweetener if you want. My mom got a medium (12 oz) half sweet chai latte and said it was okay. Probably could've used more spice or less milk. I didn't try it though, so I won't factor it into my star rating.

We split the double fromage cheesecake and a black sesame white chocolate cookie. The cheesecake was superb! Not too sweet (the best compliment for Asian desserts, haha), slightly tangy, and soft and creamy in texture. I was wary of the red chocolate wrap, because it looked like coating chocolate, but it was pleasant (not coating chocolate!). The chocolate was perfectly tempered (glossy and easy to snap into smaller pieces) and added richness to the otherwise very light cheesecake.

The cookie was taken to go, because we were quite full after our drinks and cheesecake. I took a small bite and instantly loved it. The earthiness of the black sesame, melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate chips, soft crumb, and slightly crisp edges made it an instant favourite. No doubt the rest will be devoured later tonight.

Didn't see many savoury options, though their menu online shows sandwiches and pastries. Maybe it was because I was there around 4 pm. I'll definitely be back another time!

...so in my neighborhood we are missing a weekend coffee hangout....
...we now have la saison....in the same complex as Chong Lee supermarket on Rupert and 22nd ave....
....parking available on the street and below the complex
....I had a large drip coffee and their cromuffin...
      ....seating is plentiful and roomy....
....cromuffin was crispy/crunchy/flaky with a soft buttery interior...
....coffee was what I expected from a drip coffee...
...the staff were pleasant and quick with the order...
...the bill was about 10 bucks...
...now I have a weekend hangout and will be back to try their other items...

This new patisserie on the Rupert Street is definitely a must-go for their signature chocolates and croissants. I went there for afternoon tea on Sunday and there were people queuing up for the pastries. Luckily I could find a table by the window. The cafe is spacious with good ventilation. Washrooms are tidy and clean.

I ordered an Earl Grey Croissant and a cup of medium latte. The croissants sold out quickly and I was lucky to have one. The Earl Grey Croissant was surprising tasty with a rich cream and syrup of Earl Grey tea and it was sweet and natural. Some cafes I tried before their Earl Grey cream or syrup were so artificial. The croissant was baked to its best shape - neither too hard or crumbling. This one is definitely satisfying.

It took a bit longer for the coffee to serve, perhaps this business has just newly launched so it takes a few days to streamline the operations. This is understandable. The coffee tasted alright and medium size 20 oz is just enough for me.

This place will definitely become popular to the neighbour as I found many people walked pass and went inside. There are plenty of roadside parking along Rupert Street and the streets behind if you drive to there. There are so many pastries to try so I will definitely return.

      Right Saison for some sweets?

I noticed this place during its renovation stage awhile back and finally gotten around to paused a busy life a bit and relaxed to something sweet, could this be the saison for goodness?

This place is located on Rupert street, just around the corner of the newly renovated Chong Li supermarket. Inside has simple yet modern cafe layout, nothing too crazy. A dozen of tables and chairs to one side with the counter to the entrance.

      Here were the drinks and sweets I ordered;

      1. Iced moch. Pretty basic, nothing special.
      2. Iced matcha latte. Once again nothing special, had better grade matcha elsewhere.
      3. 6pcs assorted macaron box. They were okay, one or 2 inconsistent in texture.
      4. Double fromage cheesecake (small). Tasted okay, honestly nothing special.
      5. Croissant (Lunar New Year edition). The cream fillings were quite overwhelming and once again nothing special).

Overall, I tried to order a few more assorted sweets to try but an auntie in front decided to order boxes of them to go.
The services here were pretty basic, could be a little warmer and welcoming especially it's more then the usual $2/bun at Maxine (actually the ladies at Maxine are better with their services now lol).
I would categorize the layout and atmosphere here as very casual and basic, certainly no wow factor. I kind of expected a little more considering it's a French style patisserie?
As for the drinks and sweets, I can only speak for what I tried so far, nothing special and the quality didn't meet the higher price.

Unfortunately wouldn't be a repeat for me anytime soon. This saison is not the season for me.

I really liked the interior design. They are friendly about service. It's a heartwarming place and the desserts are delicious.
