Great Dim Sum, Squid and Crispy Chicken

We went for Sunday lunch and we were Not disappointed.

The squid was really good, fresh, tasty and a big portion. It was a bit spicy and peppery but the spices were not too overwhelming.

The Har Gaw and Sui Mai dim sum were really good too.

The service was very attentive and the servers were friendly.

      We will definitely go back.

Good Chinese food and fast, friendly service--that's how I'd best sum up Lee's House.

My sister and I came in roughly an hour before closing, and were quickly seated to a table of our choosing. At the time, there was only one customer, but it seemed like there were a number of takeout orders being completed. Our servers were all extremely courteous--from getting us chili oil, to switching out a pair of chopsticks. It made our experience all the more pleasant.

BRAISED VEGETARIAN TRIO ($5.50): Though this is an appetizer, I thought that there could've been more tofu and seaweed as both are sliced so thinly. It is served cold to room temperature, so do keep this in mind if you prefer hotter food. I also found it to be too salty for my liking.

PORK DUMPLINGS ($6.95 for 10): I thought the skin was on the thicker side, particularly near the seam. This made the skin to pork ratio off-balance as the latter is not that generously given. With that said, my sister did say that this would've been her favourite dish if it was actually served hot. Unfortunately for us, it was barely room temperature. The dish itself has a light sauce dressed over it.

BRAISED BEEF BRISKET IN SOUP WITH NOODLE ($8.95): If you're craving a Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, I definitely recommend ordering this with the noodle (not vermicelli) option. The soup is savory with great dimension and served piping hot; the beef brisket is tender and fatty; the flat noodles are thick with great elasticity; and the Chinese mustard leaves and bok choy add an additional flavor and textural component. In short, this was a very slurpable bowl of noodles!

TOMATO STEW BEEF BRISKET IN SOUP WITH NOODLE ($9.50): This was my sister's dish, but she much preferred mine in terms of both the soup and noodles. The soup is thicker than the beef noodle soup, and has small pieces of softened tomato floating about. The noodles are not the same kind as the beef noodle soup: they soak up their soup more and are not as flat or thick. This too was also served piping hot, which was much appreciated!

BBQ PORK FRIED RICE ($9.00): Finally, this was a last minute order and was served within minutes! The "wok hei" was absolutely incredible--the rice was perfectly fried and shone despite the other ingredients (egg, peas, BBQ pork, green onion). It was truly an example of how to master a simple, humble dish. Hats off to the chef!

Considering the exceptional service and the stellar execution of two of the dishes, I hesitate in giving Lee's House 3 stars instead of 4 stars. However, I feel that the former more accurately reflects my overall experience given that the first two dishes missed the mark. For what it's worth though, this is my second time here and I do intend on coming back in the near future.

Placed my first delivery order there tonight. The food was hot, fresh & delicious. Great having a decent chinese restaurant in the 'hood. I'll be ordering from them again.

      Beef Gai Lan, delicious.
      Chicken Chow Mein, not bad.
Deep fried fish with sweet and sour..awesome

My only recommendation is to serve the sweet and sour sauce separately so the fish doesn't get too soggy.

This food is horrible over the 100 items on the menu I had asked for the rice curry dish they explained that it was spicy i asked for extra spicy.
Literally mello rice a couple potatoes and 2 pieces of meat no spice horrible dish.
I then ordered the minced beef and Chinese parsley soup. All I can say is I had one sip. Worst soup I've ever had thank god I have a friend that's a garburator soup was sticky and looked like somebody cam in it you will be horrified when you see the pictures will never eat their again horrible just horrible

I'm giving Lee's four stars because they have they boba/tapioca/pearl drinks. For those of us near UVic, the drinks are much better than rival Yang Yang. I just wish the drinks were a little cheaper.

The food is less stellar. The menu at Lee's is expansive, offering mainland Chinese, Hong Kong-style, and Taiwanese dishes. I understand that they're trying to appeal to a wide variety of Asian tastes, but it sacrifices quality in the process.

Don't expect stellar service. It's run like a family restaurant. I'd be surprised if the servers have any previous, formal food service experience.

Ordered beef tomato soup, got one with noodles all stick together and 2.5pieces of beef.
I didn't even finish because it's just too bad, the soup is sour like they put half a bottle of vinegar.
About $10, I give a tip of 50cents cuz that's all the coins I had left. The owner gave me this really bad face, like I didn't pay---. While everything the waiter did was to give me the noodle and not even refilled my water. U know what, the tips are appreciated but not mandatory, stop trying to argue with me like why don't u pay for 15% tips blablabla. Now understand why u care about the 1 dollar cuz rly no one eats there.

Horrible food quality, horrible service with cheap management ( not negotiable about the combo options) and a bad english accent old server.
Prices are unreasonable and all their dishes come without any toppings or rice (you have to pay extra for every single thing EVEN GREEN TEA). No hospitality tea. All you get is a pair of chewed up plastic chopsticks and smudged up glass of water.
Absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant experience I ever had so far.
I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately the system wouldn't let me

Good if you like fake chemical-tasting bubble teas, bad for food. We ordered the minced beef and chinese parsley soup and got a big bowl of disgusting slop. Had to puke it up immediately when I got home. Can't believe this passes for food, will NEVER return. The C Combo was decent enough if you're looking for greasy fried junk food.

The waitress was good and attentive, she should work elsewhere.
