Our 19th Hole lunch. To order you have to scan barcode on your phone. It was busy but we were able to get a table for 8. Parking lot is shared with Safeway and CVS but beware it's 2 hour limit and we did see tickets on some of the parked cars.

Good food. Nice ambiance. Good portions. Service is OK and good at the same time! We ordered 5 dishes to share. We ordered too many rice dishes but we will be back to try some of the other dishes. We ordered Baked Pork Chop over rice, Baked Chicken over rice. These two dishes tasted the same; difference was only the pork chop or chicken. Minced Beef with raw egg over rice (you can choose raw or cooked egg). Beef Chow Fun (dry) and Beef Chow Fun with Black Bean (gravy style). Will want to try some of their clay pot dishes or we should have tried Baked Spaghetti since we had ordered too many rice dishes.

I am sure we will be back to try other dishes. I'd actually give Leisure Cafe a 3-1/2 star rating.

Ordered take out from Leisure Cafe. The staffs were friendly and the food portions were huge. Usually, I don't complaint about big portions, however, with the amount of rice/pasta, there were not close to enough sauce that comes with them. Kind of a shame- I'd rather have regular amount of everything.

Will try other dishes again some other time!

Came here because of a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. The cafe had more of a modern feel to it but the food was as traditional and comforting as you can get. Came here on a late Saturday night, it was busy, but we were still able to get a table really fast.

To order, you have to scan a barcode on your phone. This was a little difficult considering most items didn't have a photo associated with it, but we made do.

The food was some of the best Hong Kong style food I've had in the area. We ordered the Baked Pork Spaghetti w Red Sauce, Baked Steak Spaghetti w Black Pepper Sauce, Curry Fish Balls, XO Sauce Rice Roll and two Red Bean w Fresh Milk.

Although the fish balls and xo rice rolls were labeled as "snacks", the portion size was HUGE. I felt like they could've been entres by themselves! The actual fish balls weren't as textured as I like but the curry sauce was great. Both the spaghettis were super flavorful and again HUGE portions. Considering the price, we were getting two meals in one.

Would definitely come back again with my family and see what they say about the food. All in all, i throughly enjoyed my dining experience and food here.

Leisure Cafe in San Leandro is a delightful no-frills Hong Kong style eatery that offers a comforting and nostalgic dining experience. This unpretentious spot serves up a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes, including baked spaghetti, rice and beef, and an extensive selection of noodles, all reminiscent of the casual cha chaan teng cafes found in Hong Kong.

The baked spaghetti is a standout, perfectly combining al dente pasta with a rich, savory sauce, topped with just the right amount of cheese for a satisfying bite every time. The rice and beef dishes are equally impressive, featuring tender, flavorful meat paired with perfectly cooked rice that soaks up every bit of the delicious sauce.

For noodle lovers, Leisure Cafe does not disappoint. Whether you crave the simplicity of a classic wonton noodle soup or the robust flavors of beef chow fun, the menu offers something for everyone. The portions are generous, making it great for sharing or for those who enjoy hearty meals.

The ambiance is simple and straightforward, focusing on the food rather than frills, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. The service is efficient and friendly, ensuring that your meal is enjoyable from start to finish.

Overall, Leisure Cafe is a hidden gem in San Leandro, providing an authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine without the need for elaborate décor or high prices. It's a perfect spot for those looking to enjoy comforting, well-prepared Chinese food in a relaxed setting.

Staying in Orinda, CA and wanted to try some of the close by (within 30 minutes drive) Hong Kong cafe style restaurants. Found Leisure Cafe in San Leandro and decided to try it. Parking is easy because it shares a big parking lot with Safeway and CVS.

The interior is nothing spectacular, basic cafe type of vibe. It was around 12:30pm on a Sunday. The place was almost full but we were seated within a few minutes. We got one of those pink booths which didn't really go with the rest of the decor, but at least it was spacious and comfortable.

We ordered Hainan chicken rice, baked pork chop with red sauce over rice, Portuguese style baked chicken over rice, stir fried tender greens, and a red bean drink. Service was friendly and efficient. Food came out surprisingly fast, especially for the baked dishes. The three of us shared everything family style. Portions were huge and the food was delicious.

Hainan chicken rice was the standout, very generous amount of yummy flavored rice and good mix of chicken pieces (a whole chicken leg and a few pieces of chicken breast). The ginger sauce was also very tasty and not skimpy. Baked pork chop with red sauce over fried rice was very good. There were two pieces of pork chop and the sauce was tasty. Portuguese style baked chicken over rice was decent, it could use more coconut flavor. They used boneless dark meat and it was tender. The plate of stir fried tender green 清炒菜芯 was really huge and fresh, it was excellent. The red bean drink was not quite up to standard. It didn't seem like evaporated milk was used which's the norm.

Prices were really good (the three rice dishes were all either $12.95 or $13.95) and we had enough leftovers for another meal! They do automatically charge a 15% service charge which is okay, they should mention it to customers though.

Overall it's a very solid and reasonable Hong Kong style cafe. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes (saw their beef chow fun with sauce and tender green 菜遠牛河 on a neighboring table and it looked awesome).

Great food for the price. Portions are quite large. I got the ground beef with rice. I tried my friend's dishes and they were good as well. Also enjoyed their desserts sadly they did not have any of the durian desserts available.

We discovered a hidden gems that serves HK style cafe food as well as desserts. We didn't opt to try their food only the desserts since we had our meals already. Wow, unexpectedly delicious desserts close to home. Taste was on spot and reasonable portions. Must try if you are in the area. Plenty of ample parking. We will for sure be back to try their HK style food as well. Looking forward.

4 stars for their garlic beef over rice in stone pot with fried egg! Solid dish with good flavors.

I came with a couple friends and for what it's worth, this place serve you huge portions for their price point. Each dish can probably feed 2-3 person.

Service was average but as expected from a HK cafe.

Nothing fancy about this restaurant but their food is better than other HK cafes in the area. A lot of things we want is not available but still on the menu. A bit disappointing.

Ordered silky egg with shrimp over Ho Fun and salt n pepper calamari. Calamari had a lot of msg and salt. Quite salty for my liking. Silky egg over ho fun was good but needed more gravy. Would order with extra gravy next time.
