What's the parking situation like?

The mall has free 3 hour parking. The gym does not validate parking so anything beyond the 3 hours you'll have to pay when you exit the parking garage.

After changes made to the club I have changed my review from a 2 star to a 4 star overall.
Firstly, the club has changed their group exercise policy and it is now more reasonable. Essentially, in the past the club would take all of the squat racks from 6-7 am on Wednesdays and Fridays. Preventing anyone in the gym outside of the group workout from using them. However, they have now changed this policy so that 2 of the squat racks are always open, as well as ordering an additional squat rack to be placed outside of this area. This is a massive improvement for me, as I could only workout my legs at 6 am and now I feel that I can finally use the club according to my own schedule.
Why not a 5/5?:
The club has a few minor areas holding it back. Firstly, some of the machines in the gym do not feel biomechanically sound/I just cannot make them work for myself. The best example of this is the assisted pullup machine. I have always used a wide range of assisted pullup machines, as they are amazing for back development. However, the 2 assisted pullup machine at this location are very strange/I cannot find another "nicer" word for them. They have a rock climbing grip, and two other grips that are very "unique" compared to a traditional assisted pull up machine. I cannot make any of these grips (that are forced in place) to not hurt my shoulder. Besides these two machines, some of the row machines, overhead press machines, and a few of the other upper body machines are "unique" in a similar way. They just do not feel "right" despite myself being very experienced and versed in executing the lifts they are meant to express.
Secondly, I would really appreciate having more diversity in the attachments. More specifically, the singlehanded cable-grips. Currently, the club only has one type of single-handed-cable-grip-handles that have a wide palm grip. This causes irritation in my shoulders/I have always had to use skinnier handles to avoid this but cannot due to the club not having them. Additionally, there is a landmine attachment for every squat rack, but no landmine attachments for the barbell itself. This makes it impossible to perform a landmine row/it is a little silly that the gym has a t-landmine row attachment in all of the squat racks but no landmine row attachments for the barbell.
Also, although I am not going to be extremely picky here because it is out of the clubs control to a certain extent: The club is a bit smaller/the basketball court is slightly shortened/the pool is not heated/the floor is uneven in some areas/the mens locker room only has 2 stalls/the smoothies have caffeine but the staff doesnt know how much caffeine each smooth contains/the parking is not free after 3 hours. Overall, the club attempted to achieve so much but is limited in space- and that is felt when you use the gym.
The good:
The club is stunning, and all of the actual gear (dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells) look and feel to be a high quality. I cannot emphasize enough that the club is extremely stunning. I do however, understand how some people feel that the club looks like "a nice hotel." Although, I actually like this aesthetic and would not change anything in regards to how the club looks. Also, the locker rooms are great. They are always kept spotless and the sauna, steam room, free mouthwash, shaving cream, deodorant, and water pressure in the showers is 10/10.
Closing thoughts:
If you want the best that the area has to offer while also feeling like you are getting that "club" experience you are in the right place. If you are a bodybuilder like me, the club has a few small shortcomings in regards to upper body attachments/machines. Also, if you want to play basketball, swim, go in the sauna more often and get amazing training from their group exercises this gym should be on the top of your list. The wide range of yogas, lifting classes, and stretching sessions are great. Currently, a 4/5 is suitable for what the gym is currently capable of, and I enjoy my time in the gym.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Matt Z.La Jolla, CA20514Jun 27, 2024
Have been attending since the grand opening - I honestly think that it is worth the price if a person wants to utilize the amenities and have a nice, clean space to come to.
It really is more than just a gym, it's an athletic club. Personally, I spend most of my time in the weight area, and I love that I can come at any time of the day and not worry about waiting for machines or the place being disorderly. Contrary to other reviews, it has all equipment and free weights that anyone could need.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2 - Jay P.Mission Viejo, CAAug 20, 2024Updated review
As a founding member of LifeTime Fitness in Walnut Creek, I previously shared my disappointing experience with the management's handling of baseless accusations against me. Despite my efforts to resolve the situation and my longstanding positive presence in the LifeTime community, the management continues to refuse accountability.
After speaking with many members of the LifeTime community who support me, I've learned that several have voiced their disappointment directly to management regarding how this situation was mishandled. Despite this, management has shown no interest in owning up to their mistakes or taking any steps toward rectifying the issue.
Recently, I've run into several members of the LifeTime community who have asked me where I've been and expressed that they miss my presence at the gym. It's clear that I have made a strong positive impact on the members at LifeTime. For example, a father named Santiago shared with me that his son sees me as a huge role model and always looks forward to seeing me. I've always taken the time to give his son positive advice, encouraging him to stay focused in school and listen to his dad. This is just one of the many examples of the positive influence I've had on the community at LifeTime.
Despite my willingness to provide a list of 20+ members who are prepared to vouch for my character as a kind, respectful, and inspirational person, management has continued to ignore my side of the story and refuses to take any responsibility for their actions.
This ongoing lack of accountability and disregard for the well-being of dedicated members is deeply disappointing. LifeTime Fitness promotes itself as a community-focused organization, but my experience tells a different story. I hope that by sharing this update, other members will be aware of how such situations are being handled, and that LifeTime management might reconsider their approach to member relations.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 20, 2024Previous reviewI have been a member of LifeTime Fitness in Walnut Creek since its grand opening. As a founding member, I have always been deeply committed to the community and have built strong relationships with many of the members and staff. However, my recent experience has been nothing short of disappointing and unfair.
Recently, my membership was wrongfully and temporarily revoked due to baseless accusations made by a member named Noel. This individual claimed that I had been harassing or intimidating him, which is entirely untrue and without any evidence. It is worth noting that Noel and I were once friends or acquaintances at the gym, but things took a strange turn when he began exhibiting negative and envious behavior towards me. I believe his jealousy stems from my success and the attention I receive for my fitness achievements, such as performing advanced workouts and pro-level boxing.
The situation escalated when, one day, I was driving by a restaurant called Gott's Roadside, located across the street from the gym. Noel and his friend were there, clearly intoxicated, and gave me a very envious and negative look as I drove by in my six-figure sports car. Shortly after, they walked over to LifeTime in their party clothes and made sarcastic and insulting remarks, saying, "Hey man, how many pull-ups can you do?" They then proceeded to talk negatively about my physique and walked away laughing.
Despite reporting this unusual and hostile behavior to a staff member at the front desk, who assured me they would note it down, the general manager never reached out to hear my side of the story. Instead, Noel's baseless complaints were taken at face value, leading to my temporary suspension. I have numerous eyewitnesses to this altercation and a list of over 20 members who can vouch for my kind, social, and friendly behavior at the gym. Yet, the general manager has refused to consider this evidence or even speak with me directly.
This experience has left me feeling deeply disrespected and undervalued by an organization I have long supported and been proud to be a part of. LifeTime Fitness claims to foster a community of respect and support, but my recent treatment has been anything but that. I hope that by sharing my story, LifeTime will reconsider their approach to handling member disputes and ensure that such injustices do not happen to others in the future.
To anyone reading this review, I would advise caution in associating with Noel and his associates who display toxic and envious behavior. In my experience, Noel took the trouble to stop whatever fun he was having with his buddy at Gott's just to walk over to LifeTime and harass me. This type of conduct undermines the supportive and respectful environment that LifeTime Fitness strives to maintain. - Elizabeth S.San Jose, CA2417132May 18, 2024
Longer review to come! In the meantime, I can highly recommend Life Time as a fantastic place to nourish yourself in mind, body, and spirit. I fully enjoy the classes offered because all of the instructors are truly top notch. They are not only amazing at what they do, but they develop a professional rapport with the clients at Life Time that truly support and motivate you. Shout out to my favorite instructors: Rebecca, Karen, Priscilla, Tiana, Pamela, Mikaela, and Kristine. They truly push me to be my best version. Also, I am thankful for the weekly stretch sessions i have with Jonathan! He's awesome and helps me with my recovery in between my workout days. Relaxing there is also wonderful--from the spa amenities, pool, and the CBD massages I get. I can quite literally spend every day there, haha! Professionally, I am grateful for the work space provided to the clients including the private booths when I need to be on a confidential call or zoom meeting. However, my top part of LT that I appreciate is the parent night out's with my kid's membership. My husband and I don't have trusted childcare in the area and the parent night out's have given us back an opportunity to have a date every now and then. I am so appreciative for the love, care, and compassion the team provides my child. She has a great time every time she goes whether it's for date night or when I'm there to do a workout. And of course, another shout out to the concierge team who make the environment feel welcoming and safe--specific thank you to Lee and Kyle.
I have formed a wonderful community of friends who can agree on all of the above. We love meeting up for workouts, relaxing over a coffee, or a family pool/splash pad day. Thank you Life time, for providing such a great place to escape to!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hamid K.Walnut Creek, CA01830Jul 10, 2024
I'm only writing a one star review to get the management's attention! There are gym bags ALL OVER the floor while they have a no bag on the floor policy. How hard is it to kindly ask ppl to leave their bags in their lockers?!

The place is really beautiful and full of amenities such as a pool, whirlpool, sauna, etc. Definitely feel this place is for a social status though. Plenty of gyms have the same stuff at a better price. Lots of staff on-site and all the staff was friendly. No pics as that can come off a bit creepy especially when people are working out. All in all, I had a great work out, but didn't think it was anything special.

Overall-
I've been a member of this gym for several months now, and while I initially gave it some leeway due to its newness, today's experience was quite disappointing. Like others who have left negative reviews, I find the environment lacking in client-friendliness and convenience. The front desk staff should be well-informed about all the necessary rules and paperwork for guests seeking authorization to become guardians for the day. Moreover, the gym should offer more flexibility for both members and guests who wish to sign up. Transitioning to a paperless system (was initially told I must come in to complete documents until I insisted over the phone that we are in the 21th century and things can be handled electronically, especially considering I'm giving them more business by adding a member) would also greatly enhance efficiency and convenience for everyone involved.
Childcare professionals - excellent:
I genuinely appreciate and admire the childcare professionals onsite. Any issues with inflexibility and unclear paperwork that needed to be addressed at the front desk were not the fault of the childcare professionals. I hope that management can transition to a more paperless and flexible system for setting and implementing rules.
Facilities - room for improvement:
As for the facilities, I can't say they feel particularly luxurious. From the not very new appearance of the toilet stalls in the locker room to the frequent out-of-order status of the hot tubs, there are several areas that need improvement. Additionally, there are small inconveniences, such as inconsistent towel in drop-off locations, very loud music in the relaxation area with massage chairs where everyone puts on their own headsets to block out the noise, and malfunctioning body wash dispensers, that detract from the overall experience. Even the steam room, at times, lacks essential oils or emits overpowering scents that irritate members' eyes.
I'm writing this review not merely to vent my frustrations, but in the hope that constructive changes can be made to enhance the overall experience for all members, especially considering the high cost of membership. I've heard from others that they preferred the experience at a Lifetime gym in another state over this one in Walnut Creek.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2 - Dec 16, 2023
Wait, I was coming here to go to the gym, right?
Finding the front entrance from the Main Street was a bit confusing, but eventually used my intuition and figured to keep going towards the street that is connection to all of the shops. As soon as I entered, I felt like I either had walked into a luxury apartment complex, high-rise business building's main floor, or something of that nature. I was a little thrown off. I was invited to check out their space through family who are members of this sports club.
The space is quite fancy, much bigger and nicer than I had expected it to be. They have a cafeteria / juice bar / store area, an actual full bar, various places to sit if you're meeting someone or need to catch a call or do something on a laptop - on the first floor. There were large TV screens that showcased today's classes by the flight of stairs that led downstairs - right before the elevators.
Daycare available for anyone who has kids. Basketball court, sauna with steam, dry sauna, cold plunge pool, hot tubs, pool and additional spas on rooftop, full weight and machines floor, classes (i.e. heard pilates is an extra cost if you have a membership, you will need to pay for the special class), they had a spa area near the locker rooms where you can make an appointment for nails, hair, or a massage which I really took to a liking. You also do not need to be a member to book an appointment with them. If you do schedule something, you will be able to have access to the entire gym that same day. The basketball court was fun to use as I used to play when I was younger but had been a few years since I had tried shooting. This place definitely got crowded, so I kind of wish they had 2-3 courts for people to use. I think they also use it for pickle ball or something like that.
I loved the lockers, the saunas, I wasn't in the mood to try the cold plunge or hot tub that day, but will definitely try it next time I am there! Would also like to schedule a spa service someday. I liked exploring the weight / machine floor, though for some of the machines, I wish I had known how to use them so I could try them out. I only used a few that were easy to figure out or had pictures or a guide to demonstrate.
I would say... the gym membership here is worth it... for all that you have access to it is around the same price as my Pilates membership... a little less which makes me kind of want to go here and end my other one.. but there are pros and cons. I still would need to pay extra to go to their pilates class here and I'm not sure if it is with a reformer. I don't like crowded classes either, which is a reason why I did not choose to get a membership with Tru Fusion which is near Plaza Escuela. If Life Time were never really crowded - easy to use lockers, machines, weights, props, court, pool, plunges, and saunas then I would definitely say this is a great place! I just don't think it would be good for me if I had to wait to use things (lol, cause I don't like to do that). Definitely keeping Life Time in mind! I think this is one of the coolest upscale, clean, gym establishments I've ever been to so far.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 2 - Daryl C.Walnut Creek, CA45222Mar 24, 2024
Super fancy gym but not mad about it.
Their child care area is pretty nice. Separated by infant, toddlers, etc. and their staff takes child care seriously which I greatly appreciate. The waifu and I don't have much anxiety dropping off our daughter since we know she in good hands.
The place is pricy but absolutely would recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Marcie A.Walnut Creek, CA312284255Feb 20, 2024
I want to love this gym considering how much I'm paying for a membership but I often leave feeling annoyed about something.
Pros are that the gym is new and pretty clean though I do notice most members not wiping equipment clean after using. You do get tons of nice amenities that you usually won't get at most gyms: cafe, work area, daycare, cycling studio, tons of different group exercise classes. It does make sense to cancel any other memberships you might have at different studios since lifetime will probably have a great alternative. They have a recovery area with massage chairs, Thera gun, compression leggings and my favorite, vibration plates.
Cons are that there isn't tons of equipment in the weight area if there's a group exercise class going on. Example- squat racks; there's only one since the 8-10 squat racks will be used for the group exercise class. Also, there's always something broken/out of service in the spa. I mainly got a membership to use the spa: hot tub, steam room, sauna, cold plunge but something has always been broken in the 1.5 months I've been a member. It's been very annoying to go to the spa and not be able to use one of the amenities that I solely went there to use. The root top pool is always out of service too. Not much a concern now but hopefully it's good to go by summer. Hoping lifetime can have their spa permanently fixed in the near future.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2 - Pokpok B.Piedmont, CA017Jun 28, 2024
For the price of membership, parking should be completely FREE! The garage parking for 2 hrs (free) is not enough.
