About the Business
Centrally located in Vancouver's Coal Harbour, the Lions Pub is the only part of Vancouver's Terminal City Club that is open to the public. The English-style pub offers traditional British fare, including bangers and mash, Yorkshire pudding, truffle and parmesan potato fries, daily house-made savoury pie and much more. The beverage menu features 27 draught and 25 bottled beers, as well as a fine selection of wines by the glass, and premium spirits. With its rich wood décor and charming ambiance, the Lions Pub is a favourite hangout for Vancouver locals and tourists. Guests can sit outside on the patio or step inside where high definition flat screen TV's show all the sports you could want to watch.

This was one of those surprises in the downtown area. By surprise, I mean the english pub style action they have going on.
It's surrounded by Canada Place, expensive waterfront hotels and generally touristy stuff. It's great as an alternative to what you can get accustomed seeing around this part of the city. This is what made me wander over to this place.
It opens at 11 am and fills up really fast. I was surprised! It is very much pub food you will be going for here. So with that in mind, I ordered the shepard's pie. I was disappointed in how soupy it was. Ya know, you can't have soupy shepards pie! I went to England and I tell you a traditional pie is not soupy!!!!
This does not deter me though. It has a really busy, relaxed atmosphere which I can imagine after work would be a great place to hang out. There's a sports bar feel to this place too. Well, I guess the sports playing on the screens should have made me guess that one.
Go there, for a relaxed time. Bring a group of friends for a pint or two. They definitely carry a multitude of beer fare to choose from.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pete G.Walnut Creek, CA13322Jul 13, 2024
I travel to VanBC fairly often (not often enough), and the traditional first stop is the Lions Pub. Great pub fare, fantastically friendly folk (see what I did there?). Other than the Liverpool nonsense on the wall, my favorite place in Vancouver.
So, meant to be going tomorrow on a business trip (brutal trip: I'd get to hang out with people I really like and talk about ships and cargo). I'm battling the effects of long Covid, so I'm not going. I've been sitting here for an hour trying to convince myself I'm really JUST FINE so I can go to the Lions Pub. Grumble. Wanna go. Girlfriend won't let me. She's mean to me!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 26, 2024
Great convenient location, big TV and nice food options.
I wanted to check out this place for a while now. Had the chance to come with coworkers and tried out their fish and chips. For me it was the fish and yam fries.
The portions were very decent with pretty good flavoring. The salad and pies my colleagues had were just massive. Most of them had to pack some away.
We came in a big gang, so the orders were somewhat confusing. And the service was surprisingly nice, especially knowing how annoying we were.
Overall great experience. Very nice atmosphere for watching sports. I'll definitely be back.

Service on the patio was pretty slow when we arrived. Maybe a server was on break. She was good once she showed up. Beers were good. Cottage pie was amazing, huge serving, probably can split with 2 people. Short rib grilled cheese was very good. Nice atmosphere outside. I would've left 5 stars if we didn't sit for 10 minutes without being greeted. Will definitely be back. Many more items on the menu to try

Tried the (happy hour) wings. The wings here are pretty solid I must say. Nice big chicken limbs. Definitely worth checking out.
The happy hour (discount) beer selection is quite narrow, and doesn't apply to all beers. Something to keep in mind.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 13, 2011Previous reviewCame here to watch the Canucks.
The venue is quite large, but was completely packed. It was a war zone, which is to be expected. There is an outdoor patio available which should be nice, but
I had a chance to try their appies platter, and wasn't too impressed. There were 2 types of wings and some carrot and celery sticks, but they didn't taste that fresh. (read: soggy)
The Lions burger was quite disappointing. The patty was too small (but it was thick), so I ran out of meat about 3/4 of the way into the sandwich. The toppings were generous (ie thick slices), but for a burger this is a bad thing, as it meant everything fell (or should I say squished) out as soon as you bit into it. Lastly, the bun was over-toasted. The top bun cracked in half when I attempted to squish down with my hands, in a futile attempt to keep the toppings from flying out the sides. In terms of taste though, the burger is decent. So were the fries.
Pints of Bud and Bud Light were on special for $5.xx (closer to $6) today. Not much of a special at that price if you ask me.
Lastly, my other complaint is that the layout kinda sucks for watching sports. Because of the way the tables were oriented, everyone had to turn their heads sideways to watch the game. Our table had to look in opposite directions to catch the game, effectively killing off any and all conversations. Also some of the screens are simply too small, such that they look like non-HD TVs from afar. Can't even see the puck on some of them.
It's not a bad place to chill, but to be honest, it's also not the best place to catch any sports action. - Tony R.Midtown West, New York, NY01Jul 18, 2024
Rodent infested place. We were informed that the health department frequently inspects the restaurant and this is not issue. Not very ideal to dine under these conditions.

You MUST get the Cottage Pie...absolutely hearty and tasty. Was visiting from California and just happened to stumble on this place while parking - which is insanely expensive in Vancouver - but the pie made up for the frustration. Glad I stopped by.

The food is excellent, especially the mini yorkies and the chicken pie. Servers all very friendly and helpful. Nice drinks and great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This pub is located in downtown Vancouver. They serve drinks and bar food, such as poutine. During our visit we only ordered drinks, the drinks were very good as well as the service. If you'd like to try Canadian whiskey, I'd recommend JP Wiser. Overall this is a great pub with great ambiance.

HEALTH HAZARD!! Do not go here, there are rodents on the ground inside the restaurant, we told the waitress made us pay the full check and nothing was done,

Stopped in for a quick lunch before boarding our cruise ship. It's located in downtown Vancouver with a nice outdoor patio, perfect for breezy summer days.
My sister was excited to try a beer, especially after seeing reviews that they have a large array of them and asked our server for recommendations. She didn't have a lot to say and wasn't sure what to recommend so my sister just ordered. Not too impressed with this.
The food, okay. I ordered poutine with beef and it was... a little underwhelming. The beef was pretty fatty and the cheese was... weird? My sister had delicious tacos however and my mom enjoyed her sandwich.
A little pricy but I've come to realize everything in Vancouver is.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1
