Live Fit Gym - Mission

I joined LiveFit about 2 months ago and can confidently say it was an amazing decision. It is in a great location, has good amenities, is never too crowded, and has a great culture. I did my complimentary training session will Malique, and in that one hour I learned so much. Malique was knowledgeable, motivating, and a good communicator and listener. I would recommend him to anyone looking to start or continue their fitness journey.

Awesome neighborhood gym! Perfect size - not too big where it gets packed, not too small where there's not equipment.

Speaking of equipment, some of the best I've seen at a gym. Top of the line, well-maintained, staff always making little adjustments with placements & new toys here and there to improve. 3 squat racks, 1 smith, 1 bench. Lots of free weights.

Trainers are kind and helpful, no pressure at all. There's usually 1-2 sessions going on, but not invasive to your workout (I even asked questions during these).

Jonathan's very helpful and always looking to make improvements. Give it a try!

I'm amending my review after a billing dispute with Live Fit Gym was resolved satisfactorily.

I had to make a fuss, but they ultimately made the situation right and that is good enough for me. I don't think you should really need a lawyer to look over a contract to join a gym, but I say read the fine print very carefully and if you find it agreeable you will probably have a decent experience here.

Aside from the billing dispute my overall experience was mostly positive.

Pros: Always very clean and fresh smelling. Equipment is pretty new for the most part. Feels like a generally friendly atmosphere. Aside from the fees, the monthly rate is reasonable for what you get.

Somewhere in the middle: People are pretty diligent about using wipes to wipe up their sweat, which is nice but also often the piece of equipment you want to use is all wet with chemicals. I prefer towel service but maybe just more access to paper towels for drying would suffice.

Cons: Could use more equipment like more than one pair of dumbbells at each weight. They do charge expensive fees that no other gym I've been a member of in the last 20 years charged. At times it is so busy if you grab a piece of equipment like dumbbells or a kettlebell, you can't even find a spot on the floor to use them.


Overall I'd give a 3.5, somewhere between okay and good, but that isn't an option so I'm rounding up.

I came to this gym as a novice almost 9 months ago seeking a personal trainer. That's when I met Juan and I've been working with him ever since day one. Working with Juan at Live Fit continues to be life changing for me as I feel my skills improve and my body becomes physically stronger. Not only is Juan great in his critical thinking skills he also has the patience to work at my level and build from there. My confidence in the gym is night and day and my growth has been explosive. I can't express enough how lucky I feel being able to work with Juan. We started at one day a week training and are now at 5 days a week training. His skills are worth every penny and more.

I also see how Juan treats and respects other members at Live Fit creating a really positive atmosphere around him and in the gym.
I'm really looking forward to more growth and my next steps while I continue my work under Juan's guidance. Also, look at this beautiful gym we get the train at! It's a win-win

I like their new location. I used to have a 24hr Fitness membership that I cancelled when the 2020 COVID pandemic hit. I wanted to get a gym membership and this is literally the best location for me. It's a little more expensive but I like the fact that it's not crowded at all and no wait to use the equipment. It's also more clean inside compared to 24hr. I'll definitely check out the other SF locations since this one doesn't have any group exercise classes.

As a side note, this is an interesting location for a gym. It used to be a clothing brand store and then it was used for small art installation pop-ups before it's current iteration as a gym.

Love all the TVs at this gym! I'm here early in the mornings - many of us gym goers are - I need all the motivation I can get in the ams ie being able to change the tv to a station I want. the biggest They don't let you change the channels - so it is infomercials x10 - it is a bummer for $100+ month I can't be trusted to change a channel on a TV

BEWARE:
This gym DOES use predatory billing practices. The reviews are true, cancelling your membership is not something they are keen to do. They will ask you to jump through a ton of hoops (visit at the right time, speak to the right person, call, email). And once you've done all of these things, they will leave you hanging and CONTINUE to bill you until you notice and dispute. Disputes will not be resolved easily, so HOLD ONTO ANY COMMUNICATION you receive from them.

If you do intend to cancel your membership, order a STOP BILLING from your bank first, then dance their dance. They do not care and will not be communicative.

WORD TO THE WISE: DO NOT SUPPORT THIS GYM WITH YOUR MONEY, DO NOT SUPPORT PREDATORY BUSINESSES.

Live fit was my neighborhood gym and I've had no complaints. Great, friendly staff, it has all the machines I need. Love the space. It's very conveniently located near restaurants as well.

I come to this gym regularly. The staff and trainers are all very welcoming and accommodating to your needs. I had my free training session with Malique, and he gave me a fair, unbiased assessment on my physical condition and training needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to anyone looking for an experienced and knowledgable trainer!

Gym itself is great! Larger than you'd thing for the mission, clean, and accessible. Signing up was straight forward.

I guess this is more of a complaint of the clientele than the gym itself but it seems machines/benches/etc are rarely wiped down after folks are done using them...could use some signage reminding folks of this basic gym etiquette!
