Is there any way to get a hold of a live person at this store? Every time I call the phone just rings and rings and hangs up on you.
A:
Seriously. I've called 4 times and waited on hold for over 10 minutes. No one answers the phone.

I recently visited the Lowe's at 491 Bayshore Blvd in San Francisco with the intention of purchasing plants and soil for a neighborhood beautification project. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was extremely frustrating and disappointing, leading me to abandon my project altogether.
First, I discovered that to use a shopping cart, customers are required to pay a quarter. In today's cashless society, it is rare for people to carry cash or change, making this policy outdated and highly inconvenient.
Despite this, I had a dollar bill with me and approached the cashier to request change. Shockingly, she informed me that she couldn't open her register to provide change unless I made a purchase first. I explained my situation, but she insisted that she couldn't help and directed me to customer service.
By this point, my frustration had peaked. Instead of purchasing what I needed at Lowe's, I decided to leave and save my money. This experience was disheartening and counterproductive. The policy requiring customers to pay for a shopping cart, combined with the staff's inability to provide necessary change, created a barrier to making purchases and left a lasting negative impression.
Policies like these may be intended to prevent crime, but they end up inconveniencing and deterring honest customers. Lowe's should reconsider this approach to make shopping more accessible and customer-friendly. My experience at Lowe's was far from seamless and certainly not in line with their claim of prioritizing customer satisfaction.
I hope Lowe's management will address these issues and improve their policies and customer service to prevent similar experiences for future customers.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Doug W.San Francisco, CA808468Jul 17, 2024
Not happy. Bought a refrigerator Monday night. They said I'd get a text by Tuesday 5 pm to confirm a Wednesday delivery time. By 5:45 pm no text do I called in. They advised delivery would take place between 8am- noon. That I should get a text shortly.
I arrange to work from home in the morning... still no text. I call in again Wednesday morning to get the text. Now the auto voice reply says the delivery is now set for noon to 4pm !!! After I arranged to be home in the morning. I've been on hold now for over an hour!!! Thanks Lowe's!!! Wondering why I shopped at Lowe's when Best But and Home Depot have the same prices???Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 2 - Jonathan L.San Francisco, CA20255209Jul 14, 2024Updated review
What a difference! As you can tell from my previous review, I had a very negative experience at this Lowe's location in the past. In fact, it was not my choice to return to this place at all. However, I was accompanying someone in picking up a water heater that was listed in stock, and that we thought would just be on the showroom floor.
As luck would have it, the water heater was in stock, but was on a shelf, so we had to call for help. It took a few minutes to find someone, and we were told we would have to wait. Immediately, my heart sank, and I was afraid we would be waiting for hours like last time. However, to my pleasant surprise, someone came over in just a few minutes, and we were out the door and back on the road a little bit after that!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 29, 2022Previous reviewTL;DR: go to the Lowe's in San Bruno or the Home Depot in Daly City or Colma instead of the San Francisco Lowe's.
I'll start out by saying that initially I was very excited to have a home improvement store back in the area after Goodman Lumber shutdown (and talk about a crazy story there, in terms of the father leaving the business to the son and property to the daughter, and a failure to work together that drove that whole business down into the ground). While a few interactions were good, there are several events that lead me to giving this location 1 star.
First, in the latest entry in the series of cursed parking lots in the area, this is the only place where my car has been damaged while parked. The area is dim and confusing, and if you don't have any heavy or bulky material, I recommend parking on the upper level.
Second, and even less forgivable, I ordered a big item and had it shipped to store for pick-up. Cue a 6-hour ordeal during which I and someone else ended up checking in with customer service every hour or so while someone tried finding the item, then needed to get a forklift to get an item, then needed a forklift operator, then needed to wait for a shift change to get a new forklift operator to grab the item. I would have been much happier to have been given a realistic ETA so I could leave and then come back, rather than being strung along minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour.
Finally, during the ordeal above, I could tell the front-line stations were understaffed and overwhelmed. I cannot say the same of the supervisors circulating around endlessly, overseeing and not working--while they wore the same red vests as everyone else, they were easily spotted by their dress shoes. I cannot fathom how this Lowe's can be so top-heavy and poorly run; at least at other stores, I see both shortages in workers and managers, but at the situation at the San Francisco Lowe's reminded me of the attached cartoon.
I would highly recommend going to the San Bruno Lowe's. My experience there in contrast to the one above like a glass of water in the desert: I was helped promptly, my items arrived quickly, and they even had security cameras monitoring the parking lot.
I hope that the San Francisco Lowe's improves, but unless I hear so from others first, I will be going to the San Bruno Lowe's or the Home Depots in Daly City or Colma instead. - Ed H.San Francisco, CA482432Aug 29, 2024
I recently moved back to San Francisco, and I've been doing some renovations and repairs to my new place and the closest shop to me is this Lowe's on Bayshore. While the wait times for certain departments are a little bit hectic. I've only had good experiences with the team at the store. One instance, I was looking for blinds to add to my place and gentlemen by the name of Valentino was instrumental in helping me choose and determine what size I needed for my place. One thing I can suggest is get there during an off time. Early in the morning or right after 5 PM. Additionally they had a brand of blinds that could be cut to size on the spot and not too expensive either. That alone saved me a ton of money by not having to order custom sized blinds. My only gripe is having to put a quarter to grab a shopping cart... I don't remember the last time I had loose change on me... lol. Maybe they'll eventually make it an app thing where you can scan your phone and get the cart?? ? LOWE's IT Overlords... I hoping you're listening!!! Overall, be patient, the staff is friendly and this is SF. Nothing is going to happen immediately.

Associate kept harassing me and my dad when we were looking at the item and deciding on the color. He approached us twice when we clearly did not need help. He was not friendly from the start and we felt rushed. If he had approached us with a different tone, maybe I wouldn't need to write this review. He hovered over us the SECOND time and asked what the hell we were doing. In no way were we acting sus or making any damages to the product so I don't understand. We told him we were double checking if the item would be suitable before taking it home and he completely mocked my words. He felt the need to pick a fight like he owned the store. Please mind your own business and take that nasty attitude somewhere else.

*had to edit this review as this new fridge is faulty, and it's taken TEN+ attempts to have it replaced; completely inconvenient to have to manage*

Lowes is defrauding people along with Frigidaire. Lowe's won't tell you Frigidaire has a 1.7 rating with consumer affairs and a horrible score with the bbb. When your product is under warranty still they won't take responsibility, they just pass the buck and claim to " only sell Frigidaire products".
Before you buy products at lowes look at the reviews and remember there's always a home depot close by. Lowe's only wants your money, after that, "f-u". Lowe's can care less, buy an expensive item and get the warranty if you want to find out the hard way. Don't believe me, believe the 1000 other defrauded customers. My fridge is cracking and poses a safety issue for my little children, Lowe's and Frigidaire could care less. Lowe's told me to sue Frigidaire if anyone is cut of swallow a piece of broken plastic because they " only sell their products ". I've spent over $30k in Lowe's this year. They could care less.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Miguel L.Richmond, CA0282Oct 25, 2023
