M-Spec Performance

The hood release cable on my BMW X5 was stuck, and the hood couldn't be opened. According to what I've seen on YouTube, it's a common problem with older X5's.
I brought the car to M-Spec, and they were able to open the hood and replace the cable while I waited. They also charged far less than the dealer would have and the dealer would have wanted me to leave the car.
I've been bringing my two BMW's to M-Spec for several years now, and have always been satisfied with the work, and the fair prices.

Very reliable customer service i.e. talks on phone & texts with the service manager were very satisfying as I am a car enthusiast and expect the techs and service personnel to be the same- which I experienced here. I was able to communicate my exact needs and discuss them in detail and Mpsec was very honest as to how they would address my expectations. Audi CEL intake & evap not many shops will tackle it with dedication but I was impressed with their videos and photos which is all part of the repair experience. Highly recommend.

Place is a rip off. Brought my car here and spent 29k and they couldn't fix the problem. Each time telling me 4k here, 8k here and 10k etc.... Each time reinforcing me that it will be fixed but couple of weeks or months more problem. Should've went to the dealer with warranty.

Dude, 5 star all the way for M-Spec. One of the FEW TRUE Mechanic Shops of an extremely HIGH QUALITY that cannot be found anymore, anywhere. They do QUALITY WORK and so their labor rate is very fair imo. If you drive something of value, you'd only want the best to touch it and work on it if you're aware of the poor work almost all (other) shops do. They treat their employees fairly and truly incentivize great work from the bottom-up. Truth be told, 7+ years later and I've found no shop rivalling in trust or quality. Walked in for the first time with a 2000 Porsche 911 with 37000 miles that I just bought from Gary Motors Vantage Auto in Lodi N J. The car was delivered to me with many issues.
The car needed New tires, shocks and struts, new gaskets, oil leaks and transmission pan leaks. I also wanted the IMS bearing replaced as it is something you do if you own an older Porsche.

Phil, Glen and James answered all my questions and text messages and made me feel very comfortable with the fact that they were going to put this car back together again and make it brand new!
I felt like I could trust them with my car and that they were honest and experienced with Porsche and I felt at ease.
