M2 Salon

I first saw M2 Salon on Yelp and called the same day to see if I could get a last minute haircut. I originally scheduled it for 3, but something came up so I called to see if I could push it back 30 minutes and it was no problem.

I showed up to my appointment and there was no delay. The salon is modern and clean. They washed my hair and I showed reference photos for what I wanted. I was a little hesitant at a new salon but felt comfortable and confident with my stylist. My hair turned out AMAZING. He did everything that I wanted and my hair feels soft and healthy. I saw Ming and he didn't speak English very clearly but made sure that I liked everything he was doing and was very enthusiastic.

The total was $58 and I left at $20 tip, this included a wash and cut...Ming began styling my hair but I didn't want to use heat so I said no thank you. $58 is extremely reasonable for the services I got considering my normal haircut (not as good and no style) is $90. I will 100% be going back for my next cut!!

Got a man's short haircut and paid $45 plus $4 credit card fee plus additional tips. Pretty expensive but haven't gotten a haircut at a salon since the pandemic.

My hair is simple and there isn't a lot of options so the cut is similar to what I've been cutting myself albeit more tidy and shaped cleaner.

However, I would expect a $45 cut to have a massage and scalp treatment experience or something extra. Not sure if there's still $15-$20 cuts available - if so that's what I'll do. The extra cost doesn't get you anywhere - same experience.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at M2 Salon, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction. I made an appointment for a haircut at 4 PM, arriving promptly at 3:55 PM after taking time off work to ensure I was on time. Upon arrival, I noticed another customer waiting, which is perfectly fine, but what followed was utterly unacceptable.

Despite my timely arrival, I was left sitting there for over an hour without any communication from the staff. The salon workers, who spoke little to no English, did not acknowledge me or explain the delay so the vibe is of a lesser attentive business. Instead, when a stylist became available, they attended to the other customer who had arrived before me, which I understand, but again, no one informed me of what was going on or how long I would have to wait.

It wasn't until 5 PM--an entire hour past my scheduled appointment--that someone finally attended to me. By this time, I was frustrated and had already contacted my wife to voice my concerns. She had to intervene and complain to the owners on my behalf, which should not have been necessary. The lack of communication and customer care was shocking.

What made matters worse was the owner's response. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, the wife of the main stylist (who is also a part-owner) accused me of lying about my appointment time, insisting it was at 5 PM. She wasn't even present at the salon, yet she felt entitled to dismiss my complaint and make excuses. This was incredibly unprofessional and insulting.

I have since read other reviews and noticed a pattern of similar treatment toward non-Mandarin and non-Cantonese-speaking customers. It seems this salon does not prioritize the needs of all its clients, which is unacceptable in any service industry.

I will not be returning to M2 Salon, and I strongly advise others to think twice before booking an appointment here--especially if you don't speak the primary languages of the staff. Customer service should be a priority, and unfortunately, it seems this salon has a long way to go in that regard.

Love this salon! Was a little hesitant trying out a new salon as the last place I went to totally fucked up my hair and charged so much. However, M2 exceeded my expectations so much!

I came in with really uneven hair - my right side was shorter than my left. I showed the stylist, believe his name was Eason, my inspo photos, and he was able to recreate the look perfectly. My hair got cut shorter than I would've liked but that's because my hair was uneven from the last cut. He styled it really nicely and was able to fix my hair. I was super super satisfied with the look - first time ina. While we're what you ask for is what you get.

I even took my boyfriend here to get his haircut and he loved it too. The stylists here have such a great attention to detail.

It's also very affordable and such a good price for the value - especially compared to other salons you'd find the Bay Area like SF or SJ.

Bright and modern hair salon in the middle of a strip mall on the edge of San Leandro. M2 spot is about a year old and i decided to book an appointment after seeing positive reviews on Yelp. I called in to make an appointment and they were able to accommodate me on the same day. I was I informed that a cut is $58 which includes hair washing and styling.

Tip: pay in cash as there is a $4 transaction fee if paying by card.

Eamon was my stylist and he was friendly, nice and understood what I wanted despite not having a photo to reference. They specialize in modern, Asian inspired cuts and color and I highly recommend if you're looking for a new style in 2024

M2 salon is my new favorite!!! I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they did exactly that! I really appreciate that they take their time in cutting hair to make sure it's even. I believe they are mostly Cantonese/mandarin/taishanese speaking but please don't let that stop you from coming in. They're very professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable.

It was expensive in my opinion, but I have never felt this satisfied in my hair. Give them a try :)

This salon is a hidden gem!!!!! It's a Chinese salon so they're knowledgeable about asian hair types and styles. I had my hair cut by Ivan and I just showed him a picture of a layered haircut and he cut it to perfection! The prices are super fair too. I paid $58 for my cut, and I had super long hair. Highly recommend and am definitely coming back!

I'm super excited to finally have found a salon with great service, reasonable prices and consistent quality!! Ive gotten nonstop compliments from people and already recommended two other friends to come.

M2 Salon is Chinese owned and operated, and they were able to cut my Asian hair with amazing technique. Eason is very experienced with scissoring and layers, replicating my inspo pic but also tailoring the style to suit my features. When cutting, he was very detailed with each step, making a seamless cut.
I am super impressed and satisfied and will be returning for coloring next time. I would recommend Eason to anyone looking for a solid haircut and Michael for perm or coloring!

Went to a different salon the day before and asked for a v layered hair cut. I did not get what I asked for. Came here the next day and they understood exactly what I wanted and paid a lot of attention to detail. My hair turned out exactly how I wanted, maybe even better!

Ivan was very good, I just showed him a picture of a haircut I like and he did a marvelous job!
