Mae's Acupressure Massage & Acupuncture

I have back and neck issues. My neck and shoulder had been bothering me for weeks now. I found Mae's online and decided why not. I've been to a few places here in Sacramento and they've been decent, but I think I found the (1).. Guozhi, has magical hands and knew exactly where to add pressure and eliminate the knots and kinks and everything else!!! I felt so good, I could feel the release of everything as he was massaging. I then had cupping treatment afterwards ans it was the best way to end the massage. Thank you Guozhi! I will be back for acupuncture and massage and cupping again.

The low reviews on here are true from first hand experience. Setting the appointment was confusing, parking is confusing, I also almost wasn't able to get into the building (the other businesses next door had no idea how), and if you make it past all of those hurdles, good luck figuring out the next steps.
It is too bad because I work 1 block away and was looking forward to walking here regularly for treatment several times a month.

Had a 60 minute message that felt amazing. I was in much shoulder pain and he focused on that. I would definitely go back again and would recommend to all my friends.

Loved!!! I loved this place so much that I went back a second time and am preparing to book a 3rd. The acupressure massage has been life changing for my back. I like that it's in a safe building (code access only). Across the street from the 24hr parking garage. The garage has always been attended and it's around $6.

All in all I absolutely recommend!

It was my first experience with acupressure massage. Guozhi, the practitioner, was great! He was quiet (totally my preference!) but was really skilled and adjusted the pressure when I needed it.

He paid extra attention to my neck and scalp, which had been giving me a lot of grief. By the time I left, my neck and shoulder pain was much better and it stayed better!

I have been going to Mae since 2016, which has been 7 years now. Mae has been the only one that was able to help me as I have very severe back pain due to scoliosis and sciatica. I have gone through many therapists in the Davis and Sacramento area and none of them could truly help my pain.

I am Active Duty Military and a Powerlifter so my body gets pretty beat up. Back in 2016, I came to Mae due to my shoulder pain from being dislocated. I couldn't raise my arm past my shoulder without radiating pain and a nerve pinch. She did a deep tissue massage for 30 minutes which was awfully painful but necessary to release whatever it was... but boy did she get it. Within 3 days after healing, I was back at the gym snatching 155lbs.

Deep tissue massage is not the Western type of massages... they get down and dirty with those knots and it can be painful which can take a few days to heal. You can feel bruised at first but it goes away. I always tell her to do whatever she needs to get done to release the tension. Like I said, it is deep tissue massage and it is painful... but that's how it is. Many of the friends I have recommended to go here all say the same thing. They say that they feel like they got beat up, but within a few days of recovery from the massage... they then say that their body feels good as new. She has also helped my mother with her frozen joints due to arthritis.

We will continue to go here and keep recommending her business. Mae has always been good to us and for that, we have been a loyal customer for over 7 years!

DO NOT TRUST THEM. I booked an hour couples massage online for $85. I called and was told we (my fiancé & I) could be in the same room just two different therapist. When we got to the place, they separated us(red flag #1)
No big deal. I was massaged by a man(Asian about 45) and my fiancé was serviced by a woman( early 30s white woman). I choose to be topless so I can get my back massages. I placed my bag(ZIPPED UP) and wrapped my shirt around my bag. My bag is located in a chair by my feet.
The man's massage was nice. He rubbed the knots from my spine and shoulders but when he would go down to my legs(also didn't ask for a full body, just back), I notice he only had one hand on my leg and the other was not anywhere near me( reflag #2)It went on for a few minutes then he would come up to my back again.
By the end of my massage. He announced he was leaving when he was by the door already heading out. I got up and my shirt was off my bag and my bag was open.
Nothing was missing (I just happened to forget my wallet) but still very suspicious.

So I'll start off with some context - I am a deep tissue massage fan. I don't like paying for someone to rub lotion on me (I can do that myself). This place is a good old school Chinese massage place where they use elbow. Don't go here if you're a "light pressure" massage person. Also, I got gua sha and cupping yesterday and I'm still sore today. Note - this place is next to a lot of lawyer offices, so don't be shocked when you walk by 10 office building rooms and then end up at Mae's. It's in an office building, and you'll need a code to get in (they email it to you prior). As someone who has gotten this type of massage before and also cupping, it was good for that type of massage. They use vacuum cupping and not the light-a-cotton-ball-on-fire-cupping, so it did feel less scary than some of the ones I've been to in Asia. IYKYK.

Mae is great. Let me start out by saying so. I made an appointment and was lucky to get in quick. I had no idea what I was in for!

I signed up for the advanced acupressure treatment for an hour. It has been a while since I've had a treatment and it showed. It was one of the most painful yet rewarding experiences I've had in a while.

She went deep! I had back pain, recently strained my hamstring, and she did her thing. I lost a contact in the process but it was worth it.

I am looking forward to the next session as I was all bunched up. She hit spots that I didn't know I had! I'm utterly grateful for the experience and I feel good.

Give them a shot and you won't be sorry!

I can't wait to be back. I am recovering from a bad hit and run T bone/ side swipe accident and this has been my healing grounds. Mae has a healing touch. I came in for my first ever gua sha treatment and let's just say I can't wait to be back. I finally feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel with getting better and I can't wait.
