Service service service. Like location in real estate, service is the foundation of retail, restaurants, and...um...services.

Dry cleaners live in the world of the what I call the "drive-thru paradigm" (copyright pending). It's a service that you don't spend much time at. You walk in, drop off, and walk out, so most are cold, lifeless places. Drop ya ish off and leave. Come in, pay, and leave.

Here it is different. The owner is warm, funny, and remembers people. She remembered that I had my snowboarding gear laundered there weeks ago. With the amount of foot traffic a dry cleaner/launderer must get, this is impressive.

It is a bit pricey with jackets coming in around $9-12 dollars, vests $6, replacing 3 buttons will run you $5.50. As pricey as that is, she is reliable, helpful, friendly, and will work to make sure you have your clothes when you need them (generally at no extra charge but I haven't done same day).

I enjoy this place and I will continue to do so. Cheers Marina Village Cleaners.

Jade at Marina Village Cleaners has become my go to dry cleaner. It's on my way back through the tube to oakland after I drop my kid off at her preschool. It's in a convenient shopping center next to Lucky's so I can kill two birds with one stone dropping off dry cleaning or clothing repairs and pick up grocery essentials afterwards. For a busy mama of 2 this is so helpful. Jade has helped me get pre-existing stains off a secondhand kimono my mother in law sent for my 4 year old (don't ask) and been good about getting dry cleaning done by deadlines. Highly recommend this business for all your alterations and cleaning needs!

      Updated review

      Two issues:

      (1) TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - the owner lady makes up prices on the fly. I have literally had 3 different prices charged to have a single shirt laundered and pressed.

      (2) LOW QUALITY - there was a green pen mark on my shirt the last time I picked it up. What do you know? There was a green Bic pen rolling around the counter. Coincidence? The owner lady refused to reclean it without a second charge.

      Overall, very disappointing.

The owner is dishonest (in my opinion.). I have never paid $4.70 per shirt for laundry. She said they 'have to scrub the collars and hand press the shirts.' What???

When I questioned her - she said her normal price is $4-$4.50. When I asked why $4.70? No answer.

One time experience. Fool me once...not going for twice.

I had a wedding to attend on Saturday as the maid of honor and Friday morning I saw an oil stain on my dress. Other cleaners told me it would be impossible to fix and would take multiple days but Marina Village took on the task and took out my stain in 6 hours. MIRACLE WORKER Will definitely be back.

The owner lady is very nice and fixed the zipper on my toddler's beloved CARS backpack, which I was very grateful bc Disney stopped selling them! Also, she is a good listener and addressed my concerns with my jacket that I needed clean (the cuffs on Burberry quilt jacket were dirty). This location has plenty of parking and is convenient. Highly recommend to everyone! Especially grateful for the pleasant owner lady!

The owner is responsive and helpful, and they kept us notified of potential timeline changes. I had a fix-it job on a beloved old purse my wife had been unable to send to the excellent purse graveyard but was in no condition to use, which they gave another breath of life. They also reheeled a pair of boots of mine as well as refinished the leather to near pristine condition

I was bringing some of my heavier items here because the laundry delivery service I use charges an arm and a leg for some pieces like bath mats so I thought I would give this place a try at $1.59 a pound. Well, the operator of the business who I refer to as the Shady Lady, started charging me $20 every small bag of laundry I dropped off no matter what was in there.

One time it was a fleece blanket and a down blanket (not comforter) which weighed in at less than 10 pounds. Second to last time it was just two small bath mats and three little dust mops that go on a Shark. At the most they weighed 5 pounds. When I asked her why I was charged $20, she said I was charged $2.50 a pound because the mats took longer to dry. I started getting super suspicious after that and was so upset I even went back the next morning to question the pricing because I had dropped off a comforter cover during the bath mat pick up that I was worried would cost me an arbitrarily large amount.

Glad I spoke up because this last time I was only charged $7.50 for the comforter cover, but I am still not going back because it is too stressful wondering how much I will be charged. She doesn't tell me the weight when she rings me up and she also took down the sign that advertised wash and fold at $1.59 after I started going there. And how any of these prices are multiples of $1.59 is beyond me. Paying more to lug more laundry to and from this place defeats to whole purpose of going there. I'd rather just pay more to an honest business.

Very disappointed in this place. I brought a jacket and dress to be cleaned. The dress has faux leather detailing. It is about a year old and worn about 3 times. It has been professionally cleaned in the past. Upon picking it up she showed me the damage and said "it just wears out over time" and that she cleaned it the right way in a bag. The dress is 100% ruined. There is no way to salvage it. She still charged me.
      Avoid this place!! No accountability!
