Martinizing Dry Cleaners

I had an outstanding experience with this dry cleaner, thanks to Laura! While visiting my brother in Oakland, I didn't have the time to drop off my clothes personally. Laura assured me it was fine to send them through Uber's package service, and she took care of the rest. The clothes arrived without a hitch and were ready the next day as promised. However, since I was out exploring the Bay Area, I couldn't pick them up on time, and they were closed on July 4th and 5th.

To my surprise, Laura went above and beyond by coming in on her day off just so I could pick up my clothes before leaving town. The quality of the cleaning was impeccable, and I deeply appreciate businesses that prioritize their customers like this. If I lived in Oakland, this would definitely be my go-to dry cleaner. A huge thank you to Laura for her exceptional service!

I am writing this review specifically for the seamstress, Veronica. She is the in house tailor and let me tell you, she does FINE WORK! She listens, is careful, understands, and gives great tips and recommendations on what will look best. I once needed my pants taken in from losing weight and she just made magic happen. I didn't have to say a peep. She has done probably 20 items for me over the last few years and I only trust her with my stuff!
Sadly I am relocating next month and will make sure I come back to see that she caters to all my tailoring needs in the future! Even if it means an airplane ride! Not only does she do great work, her demeanor is one that is hard to find in the Bay Area. She has become part of my week as well as the rest of the team at Martinizing.
The team at Martinizing Alameda is always friendly and helpful when I come in. They are often very busy and still find a way to remember me and my account without me saying anything.
It's the little things that Veronica and the employees at this location do that make all the difference. I am thankful I've found them and if you need work done look no further!

They are a great value for dry cleaning. I requested to have suit dry cleaned and they told me it would be ready in 3-4 days but I got a text the next day it was ready to be picked up.

Still going to Martinizing five years later! The service is just that good - I'm always amazed at how fast they can turn things around.

Just dropped off a comforter on Monday, and they sent me a text same day saying it's ready - three days ahead of schedule. Swung by the next day, got absolutely pleasant service from Margarite, and was on my way.

My husband has used Martinizing for dry cleaning a few times, and they've done a great job at affordable prices! At my wedding, we were literally in ocean water in our wedding attire - water splashing and sand EVERYWHERE. We brought in the suit and my wedding dress the next day; the suit was dry cleaned and you would never have guessed it was submerged in the ocean water.
I also went through Martinizing to have my wedding dress cleaned/preserved, as well as one of the sleeves repaired. They use the company "Prestige Preservation" to do preservations, and I just picked up my dress today and it is nicely preserved in a sealed box. It took about 2 months for me to get my dress back. Martinizing sent me a text as soon as it was ready for pickup.

Quality/Quantity -
We do most of our dry cleaning here.
They have always done a good job.

Atmosphere - Small dry cleaner right next to my favorite Starbucks.
Plenty of mall parking.
Open 6 days a week from 7 or 8am to 6 or 7pm; see my picture, Yelp, or their website.

Service - Good. Oh, and now there is free popcorn, not sure how long they have been doing that. Wait, I just got butter on my new dry cleaning, going back in, JK.

Price - Slightly above average, but that is the cost for quality. I have not once been unhappy with the quality.

I spent an hour trying to steam and iron a super heavy fabric curtain panel. 1! I didn't even see any improvement when I was done. Ugh! So frustrating! But then I dropped off all 8 panels on Friday at lunch, hoping to pick them up on Monday. To my surprise, I got a call right before dinner saying they were ready! Now that's what I call great service! I'm so glad I brought those curtains in - they saved me so much time. The ease and quick service was definitely worth the cost. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

This is an update on my previous review.

About 24 days ago, I posted a review on Martinizing Dry Cleaners in Alameda about one of my husband's white shirts.  I told the staff that there were a couple of spots needed attention.  A few days later, I picked up our clothes, everything looked fine except my husband's white shirt.  I was pretty upset that the cleaner did not remove the stain spots.  So, I went on to Yelp and wrote an "unhappy" review, the fact that they charged me but did not remove the stain spots.

The owner Bob contacted me quickly and expressed that he wanted to pickup the shirt to try to clean it again.  I e-mailed Bob that I would bring the shirt to his shop for them to try again.

Well, the day I was ready to bring the white shirt in, my husband showed me a tag on the shirt saying that they could not remove the stains.  I texted Bob and apologized that I did not see the tag before.  However, I still felt that I should not be charged on the shirt that still has the stains.  Bob is very graceful and offered to refund the entire dry cleaning fee to me which I do not think it's fair for him to do that, especially I know that owning a business is very difficult with the current environment.  I do not want his company to lose money so I told him that I would bring my shirt in for him to try as he insisted but no need for the refund.  I will, however, update my review so that Martinizing will keep its good name!

This is actually a good learning experience for me also:  I told myself that I have to look at everything before I actually "complained" about the business.  I am always very honest in all my reviews but in this case, it's partly my fault not to see the tag.  However, Bob is kind enough to try his best to resolve this issue.  I plan to bring the white shirt for them to try one more time and I also told him that, going forward, I plan to bring all my clothes to his dry cleaning business. Bob certainly has earned my respect and business for being such an honest and customer oriented businessman.

This is the first time I took our clothes to Martinizing in Alameda. While we like their friendly customer service, we are not sure about some of their work. I specifically told the staff about a couple of stains in front of my husband's white shirt (see attached photos, one of the stains is yellow and is still there). The lady assured me that they would take care of it. I picked up the clothes from them and took out the clothes from the plastic bags the next day. While I was happy with the rest of the clothes, the 2 stains are still in the front of the white shirt. If they actually couldn't clean it, at least they should let me know and not to charge this "unclean" shirt! For that reason, I probably would bring my clothes somewhere else even though they started sending me discount "coupon"!
