This is my all-time favourite Ramen shop in the Lower Mainland. I always get the tamago ramen, sometimes the tamago cha-shu ramen when I'm extra hungry.

The broth is super flavourful. The egg is always jammy. The cha-shu is tender, though I do wish it was grilled a bit more for that char flavour. I love the Aosa seeweed, I don't see this anywhere else. You can order extra ramen too, which I usually do. They used to provide free garlic chips, but it's a $0.50 charge now I think.

Love this for a cold autumn/winter, or any weather really!

Your typical ramen joint. Very central location near the public library. Service was attentive but not intrusive as most ramen joints are. A fair amount of tables are filled with solo people and small groups alike.

I ordered a large Tamago Ramen and it was just slightly too much for me as I usually get a small. Soup is flavorful and creamy, not overly salty. Pork pieces were large. Personally not a fan of the presentation as I don't like my proteins draped over the sides of bowls.

Noodles are also on the thinner side if you care about how your noodles are.

Not my favorite bowl of noodles but definitely decent. I do find ramen prices getting quite steep though.

Typical ramen joint with typical ramen menu items. Nice variety of ramen for those who are rather picky with their ramen choices. They do specialize/offer a chicken broth which is not normally offered in other ramen joints.

Chicken broth had a light chicken flavor, noodles were plentiful and firm. Good ratio/variety of vegs to ramen.

Curry ramen was good. Curry was light and didn't overpower the soup base and noodles.

Char siu given would have been nicer if grilled.

Overall a nice ramen outing, besides the special chicken broth nothing really outstanding

Came back again for dinner by myself. No waiting time at 7pm on Friday. Service was quick and good. I ordered chashu tamago ramen, gyoza and dashimaki tamago.
I wished chashu was more tender but not...even I couldn't finished it.
Does it taste different depending on the day? It didn't taste as good as last time. I look forward to the next time.

Food was just okay. I didn't personally like it and wouldn't go back. I got the veggie curry ramen and was unable to get the egg because they cook it in pork fat. No big deal, but definitely a huge disappointment. The broth itself was just okay. I normally would finish the broth with the noodles, but I was only able to finish the noodles here.

The best part about it here is the unlimited sesame seeds you can add to the ramen (to add and amp up the flavor) and the tofu skin. The tofu skin was a game changer and made the ramen taste better.

I went back to this place and it still great. On that day, I have their Original Ramen. The dish was simple in presentation, but it was rich in favor. The meat was fresh and tender and the noodle tasted as I remembered. Great place for a fast meal.

As a New Yorker who has 10 4-star ramen places within 10-minute walking radius, I'll admit that I have fairly high standards for ramen which is why I didn't find Marihachi that impressive.

      Pros:
      - Very fast service - it only took us 19 minutes to order food, for it come, and for us to finish it and pay for the check
      - The creamy chicken broth was delicious and something that I haven't tasted yet in my years of ramen exploration

      Cons:
      - The toppings were very barebones (think there was just pork, egg, and scallions) and underwhelming. The pork cha-shu I found to be very bland and not as tender as some of the other cha-shu I've had. The egg was pretty good but doesn't make up for the rest
      - I also usually prefer my noodles to have a bit more chew: the overall thinness and texture kind of makes the noodles disappear
      - Their pricing system is inconsistent. We ordered two Cha-shu Tamago Ramen which is basically their original Tamago noodles with two extra slices of cha-shu. We were a little miffed to find out later that for the exact same price, we could just get the original Tamago plus cha-shu toppings and we would have gotten an extra slice of meat. Seems kind of an unfair arbitrage opportunity for people who don't read the menu too closely

      Extra cha-su topping
Cha su Tamago Ramen (don't get this if you want extra meet. Just go for regular Tamago and add meat topping)

A little hard to find this place without an obvious sign but we found it nonetheless. It wasn't too busy when we got here around 5 on a weekday but the business definitely picked up later in the evening. The staff was attentive without being aggressive and service was quick without pushing you out the door. Great for meeting up with friends as it wasn't too loud/ quiet in here and they also have booth seats for those who are flying solo and just want some hot noodle soup on a cold evening.

We both got the winter special, one with the extra chasiu. Their ramen may have been the best I've had in town, the broth was rich and creamy, the meat melts right in your mouth with just the right amount of fat and the noodle is thin and chewy!! 10/10 would come back again for the noodle, ambience and service.
