I recently worked with Steve to replace my water heater with a tankless system and I am delighted to share my experience. Steve's remarkable set of skills, including his knowledge, professionalism, diligence, excellent communication, and fair pricing, made the entire process a breeze!

Above and Beyond 5-Star. Water heater replacement for tenants at my CEO boss's coastal rental property required high standards. I did the due diligence, made a LOT of phone calls to get estimates and referrals. After receiving astronomical bids from local plumbers decided to focus on water heater contractors. Maverick was the first and last contacted due to professional first impression, excellent and expedient communications, stellar reviews, availability and very fair pricing. I really liked that Steve is independent vs. franchise owned. It seemed too good to be true so verified his license with CA State, yes he was listed.
Install was scheduled for Monday but when tenants called frantic that the leak was escalating, Steve responded by bumping install date up to Saturday.
Today was install day. Steve was dependable, timely and got to work immediately. The Above and Beyond was deserved for first draining/uninstall defective unit, transporting it to Home Depot for warranty exchange then delivering replacement unit back to residence. I inadvertently selected the wrong replacement unit, Steve had to turn around to Home Depot and again go through the return process.
Steve takes pride in his work, it is clear due to his experience and licensed status he wants to get the job done to code and right. He re-routed the piping to outside and leveled the water heater with shims at no extra charge. I love meticulous attention to detail. It's no wonder when I asked about Diamond Certification sticker on his van he informed me his previous employer was Diamond Certified, more affirmation of experience under highest standards.
It feels good to know the time invested to research during selection process paid off and a good decision was made.
BONUS: His sidekick is his young Welsh Springer Spaniel named Sam, just adorable.

Steve did an amazing job replacing our leaky water heater with a new unit. He talked us through the pros and cons of different options without trying to sway us to do the option that would be easier or more expensive. He also problem solved with us the issue of the new heater not quite fitting through the door frame of where it was supposed to go, ultimately taking off just a tiny piece of the frame. I appreciated that he was able to solve the problem in a low-impact way. Would definitely recommend!

I had a heat pump water heater installed by Steve and everything went so well. During the entire process, I texted him many times to ask questions about the install / questions about the heat pump ( since I'm new to that technology) and he always responded really fast to all my questions. Very different from other plumbers I've worked with in the past. He is super knowledgeable and most importantly honest. He never pressured me into buying something I wasn't comfortable with and he also guided me through the process of getting the rebates for the install. He came to do the install on the day he said he would - and everything went as planned. We also discussed different way I wanted the pipes to be connected and he listened to my requests. If you need someone to install a water heater or any other plumbing things, I highly recommend him. Plus he has this really cute dog that makes the vibes so friendly!

Got a new 40-gallon Bradford White gas water heater with 6-year warranty. Removal of broken old WH and installation of new WH went smoothly. Everything works well and we are very happy with the new WH. It cost $2350 + tax, which was cheaper than 3 other competing quotes. Very happy with the service, and hopefully this new WH will last as long as the last one (23 years!)

We got a fairly accurate quote over the phone, he told me all of the fees up front, he sent me a detailed estimate via text right away, and was able to come the next day.

Installation and removal was done easily in a couple hours and I just felt comfortable the whole time he was in the house. My husband got all his questions answered and even learned how to flush out the water heater. I would totally recommend him and actually already have to a friend!

Steve was a consummate professional from his first visit to give an estimate on the project through the completion, which was about a 6-hour job! He kept me informed of progress through the job (i.e., advised of when he'd drain hot water from the existing water heater, when water main would be shut off, etc.) and upon completion walked me through how to operate the unit and answered all of my questions.
