YESSSSS!!!
I'm happy I found this place. It's not far from me, it's a locally owned small business and the people are friendly. I'm shocked it wasn't packed with people, but I got there after the lunch rush, still, you should try it. It's worth the drive.
Was in the mood for something different, my typical go-to foods are usually burgers, Mexican food, or Chinese food, but I saw this in the search when I looked for "Food near me".
I got a Lamb Gyro ($9.99) and added a combo for an additional $3.99.The combo gives you one side and a canned drink. From the time I ordered, it took less than 10 minutes to get my food which was piping hot and given to me in a small paper bag...it felt heavy like a lot of food. when I got home I spilled the contents out on a dinner plate and it overflowed. There was no way I could fit the fries and the Gyro on one plate (see the photo!)
If you're a big eater you will be happy!
Most Gyro places shave the meat, this place gives you about 1cm x 1cm chunks of lamb gyro. in a big fat pita with shaved lettuce and sauce. There was LOTS of meat, probably twice what most other places give you!
They don't skimp on the fries. As you can see by the photo, they give you enough to fill a 9" dinner plate. They're the seasoned kind and will stay crispy and not get soggy.
The bottom line is they give you tasty food and LOTS of it. A great value especially compared to the other Gyro place I reviewed about a month before this which was more expensive, didn't taste as good, and gave you less food.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Adam G.Sacramento, CA010Jul 31, 2024
I don't want to hurt anyone's livelihood by being overly critical, but I don't want others to waste their money either. I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews of this place. Either friends and family are trying to boost the business up, or maybe they started off good and went into decline.
Ambiance:
When you walk in, you get a sense this is a "soft open" and they aren't quite finished fixing the place up. It looks like they did a bad rush job on the interior of the building. In addition, he couldn't get the tv menu to work and didn't have other options. The soda machine was also broken.
Service:
There is a bell on the front counter to get someone to help you. As someone who has been in customer service for over 20 years and knows what good service looks like, having to ring a bell to get help is not very welcoming. In addition the person that helped us had no enthusiasm and seemed like he couldn't care less that we were there. Maybe the empty dining room should have been the clue.
Food:
I am not a picky eater but I like to think I can tell the difference between quality and non quality food. This food was not quality. I have lived on the East Coast where it is very easy to find a good Gyro and all I can say about the Gyro I got here is that it was edible. The lamb was chopped into very small chunks and was dry and overcooked. There was hardly any sauce and it didn't even taste like tzatziki sauce. We also had some falafel and some fries. The fries and falafel were both overcooked and under seasoned. The fries also seemed like they were leftovers that were thrown back into the fryer. Somehow despite them being overcooked, they weren't even very hot.
I would save your money and go to a better Gyro place unless you are REALLY wanting a Gyro, then head over to the Arby's in the same parking lot which has a better Gyro than this place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David S.Hayward, CA013Sep 15, 2024
Fries not crispy. Gyro ok. Sent me to the bathroom. Stars for order being ready when I showed up.

Awesome food! Everytime I come no matter what I order it's absolutely delicious. Huge fan of the mix platter, or lamb gyro. They've also done a great job remodeling the restaurant and added to the menu quite a bit, the ambiance is really fantastic. I remember when there was just a few tables chairs and a sink in the corner behind the counter. Need to come back to try the Philly Cheesesteaks! Full confidence

The food is consistently delicious, and the prices are reasonable. We've always had a positive experience with the customer service during every visit, which adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend!

It was OK. We all had lamb platters so that's all we can gauge it by. They tasted OK but were basic with just a little bit of unseasoned or dressed lettuce in the box. No pita bread, hummus, olives, or any of the extras that seem to come on plates like this at other places we frequent. Not horrible, but not someplace we would probably go again. People that were there says the hamburgers were great.

Did not disappoint! We had a Falafel gyro, Philly Cheesesteak, burgers, and nuggets and all were delicious! Would definitely return! And not overpriced, for the amount and quality of the food!

Food was not what it should have been. Not true Mediterranean food. The photos for fries do not match description. Thought I got what I ordered until I started to dig into my food. Ordered white rice they gave be brown. Only good part was the fact that the fries were crispy. You are better at going to Nick the Greek or even other Mediterranean restaurants. Everything else was mediocre. Not even hummus. They added lettuce and tomato but no dressing to it.
