We travel frequently and board our cairn terrier, Denver, here several times a year. He LOVES it. They are so kind and consistent with his care. This means everything to me. They know that he likes to be with smaller dogs and when he comes home he shows he was well taken care of by not showing any stress and not skipping a beat. He is so much more well socialized with other dogs than he was when we first brought him there. It brings us great piece of mind when we are gone knowing he is well taken care of. Thank you Mid City!

We love Mid City Animal House. We starting going to them after a very poor experience with another boarding place in the city. It took us over a year to trust boarding again but I'm glad we did.

We have two dogs who love going there and always come home seeming happy and worn out. We have boarded for as little as overnight and as long as two weeks without issue.

Left our two dogs for a three night stay. Both had sun burned noses / slight sores on their nose when we picked them up and the staff did not call us or even mention it to us. We noticed on the drive home.

One dog was also extremely thirsty for water when we got home.

While the dogs seemed okay otherwise, we won't be leaving our dogs there again.

Edit: We found fleas the next morning. Down to one star.

My dog gets so happy when we turn the corner and realizes she's going to doggy daycare at Mid City Animal House! The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. The rates are very reasonable.

We would highly recommend this place. We were traveling on a road trip and when we got to New Orleans we needed a place to board our golden retriever. From our first interaction on the phone staff was pleasant and helpful! Such a good feeling especially when you're visiting a new city. When we dropped him off they greeted us and reassured us they would take good care of our dog, Nelson. We were able to follow them on Instagram to see how he was doing and all the fun he was having meeting new dog friends.
Thank you for making sure our stay and Nelson's was a memorable one!!

Both our pups absolutely love going Mid City Animal House! We use them regularly for daycare and boarding periodically. They never say goodbye at the door and don't want to leave when I pick them up.

You can tell the staff really enjoy the pups and takes great care of them. We have been going for several years and our pups would probably be crazy without their help! Definitely recommend for daycare or longer term stays.

Our pups have been going here for 3 years. They get depressed when they go too long without a visit! Humans and dogs alike are friendly and your first visit is free (a test run to make sure your dog vibes with the pack). Really great rates and packages if you're going to use it a lot for daycare but also reasonable for boarding. Very cute Instagram with pics of the pups!

Visiting New Orleans for a couple days, we decided to leave our pup for two days here. The first day we were greeted by a very nice woman and that's who this one star is dedicated to. Over the two days, I called in to check in my dog. They told me he was fine.

When we came to pick him up, he looked super dirty which I assumed was from playtime outside. After paying for his stay and getting into my car, I really took a look at his face. He had gotten an eye infection that had gotten so bad his eyes were blood red and covered in green mucus. I was crying because no one informed me sooner of this. It was more than obvious. We had to take him to the nearest vet immediately.

After informing them about it, the girl on the phone said she had notice that day and said she was sorry. Nothing else. Later we received another call that seemed like an apology but also saying that "this happens that dogs will get sick from being around other dogs" but saying that the staff said he was fine the first day and didn't notice his face the day we picked him up. Which was not the case when we first called.

I get that dogs get sick, they catch stuff you cannot prevent. My dog now has bronchitis. I wish the staff who check on the dogs and walk them let us know when we call. All in all, maybe there should be a photo update sent to the dog parents.

Brought our pup in for an overnight boarding. The house itself was very clean and the staff was all very friendly. They all absolutely loved our dog which as a pet owner is a very happy feeling. As far as the boarding experience itself no complaints! However, my issues with this place start with their website. Filled out a registration for our pup twice the first time it showed an error message so i filled it out again after submitting i received no confirmation message or email which to me seemed very odd. I figured maybe they call to confirm? The day we were supposed to bring her in i decided to call in advance seeing i had no confirmation from them. The woman i talked to was very apologetic and told me they typically have someone confirm. Wasn't the biggest of deals just somewhere they can improve :)

Mid City Animal House is seriously awesome. We starting going to them after another boarding place in the city totally let us down (among other things, he was returned to us soaked in pee even after we paid for a bath prior to pick-up) and haven't looked back!

They are located in a charming little house on Toulouse and N Pierce (across from House Stuff) with both an indoor and outdoor space for the dogs. I have no clue how, but the lobby area always smells good and not like there's been a billion dogs in it at all.

Some things we have really appreciated:
*While they were initially full over the Christmas holiday, they called us when a spot opened up for boarding.
*They were very responsive when friends picked him up, but forgot the bag of stuff we left for them. They kept the supplies and did not toss them even though our dog had been collected several days prior.
*They have a great 10 day package deal of $270 for 10 days (usually $30/night).
*They let our cuddle bug be with whomever is in the front when it's not super busy, which is just lovely.

Odd anecdote: we ran into Gwenievere while hiking in Mississippi. She immediately recognized our dog and he ran over to her. What a strange coincidence! Just speaks to how great their staff is.
