P.S. Second service call - update to my 10/19/10 review about Mike's Appliances:

Happy to see David, knowing absolutely excellent service was at hand, when he returned to our home to repair our clothes washer. Just as he did the first time, David expertly accomplished his repair, this time replacing a broken door hinge, with precision and efficiency.

The door had to be set to exact standards, and fit in with the interior seal, or over time the washer could have leaked. No one wants to bother having to deal with the time, energy or expense of dealing with in-home appliance repairs, but calling Mike's Appliances, and having David walk in the door definitely results in very intelligent, straight forward, positive solutions.

In addition to having pleasant interactions with David in our home, as with the office employees over the phone about our warranty, I got to have the opportunity to speak with the owner of Mike's Appliances. That led to Mike advocating on our behalf with the warranty company who insured the corporation that manufactured our front load washer.

Apparently, the warranty did not cover the door hinge, although any reasonable person reading the warranty agreement would think it did. It was quite a surprise for us doing laundry in the house to have the door suddenly stop functioning correctly.

Turned out a small irregular-shaped chunk of the hinge apparatus simply fell off - it made no sense. Only adults in the house would open and shut the washer's front load glass windowed door, and we paid extra for the base that would raise up the washer door to be compatible with regular standing height. It was simply a matter of opening the door and shutting it again as designed. How could a little piece break off of the large hinge? Metal fatigue? If so, defective materials were used in manufacturing.

However, the warranty holders were adamant - it was the responsibility of the owner of a 2-1/2 year old washer to spent hundreds of dollars to replace the entire hinge, in their interpretation of the warranty. (Additionally, the corporation made no provision for simply repairing its hinge, as Mike and I had discussed.)

But Mike saved the day (and our warranty protection, and our cash). He researched what was going on with availability of these hinges, and it turned out a number of people in the state were experiencing exactly the same issue - a front load washer door hinge that simply broke apart on its own.

Long story short - Mike's logic from going the extra mile on our family's behalf created a just result from an otherwise nonsensical warranty exception. Mike's discovery of an unreasonable number of broken door hinges proved there was an original defect, a responsibility of the corporation to fix, and the warranty to cover.

Albert is the best every time he comes over. He works so hard and I'm always very impressed. Thank you so much and I would recommend their services to everybody. I won't use anybody else. Thank you Silvia and that's true.

If you live within a 25-50, maybe even 100 mile radius of Mike's Appliances, make absolutely sure you check with them before purchasing ANY appliance. They are simply the best group of folks to work with. They know appliances like Michael Jordan knows basketball. Here's the thing...they also service what they sell. Better yet, they pretty much service anything whether they sold it or not. I've had two separate appliances serviced and repaired by Albert from Mike's appliances. They're now as good as new. They also will install your new appliance. I purchased a double wall oven to replace the original from the 60's and the cabinet was a little tricky...but not for them. They rebuilt the supports within the existing cabinet, and it looks fantastic. I highly recommend Mike's for either new, service or repair of your appliances.

Good service, high priced but got me back in motion. They came out within a few days and replaced the pump of my washer.

I called Mike's about my dryer not heating and they made an appointment for Albert to check it out. Albert called to advise his ETA, he showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and repaired it quickly. No mess, no issues, and a totally satisfied customer.

Beware they are RUDE! I had made an appointment and when I made this appointment, for a repair. I mentioned that my dryer was making noise and if someone can come and take a look. It's a lil pricey to come out for my liking but I agreed. I asked the lady if I got it working before hand would I just call back and let them know. She said yes just call and let us know. Well over the weekend, I ended up getting a used one in good shape from a friend. I called in to cancel the appointment. I mentioned I got another one and no longer need the appointment, I barely finished my statement and was already hung up on. I'm upset and usually feel this place (I've been a customer many times) is ok, but most of who works there need additude adjustment. Customer service is important and your additude is important too. This place needs to be more friendly!!!

We had our GE washing machine that is not even five years old suddenly stop draining water mid-wash. We were able to get a service appointment very quickly from Mike's and Albert came out and diagnosed the issue. we waited a couple of days for our part to arrive and Albert showed up and installed, but we realized that the washer was having more problems and would need a bigger fix, Albert made sure we were not overcharged for the first part and gave us a break since the initial service did not resolve the problem. We ended up replacing the entire control panel on the second service call.

Unfortunately, our washer was continuing to malfunction. I can't say enough good things about Albert, who was responsive to my questions and helped me troubleshoot the issue. Albert figured out what we needed to get the washer working, he had the part ordered and Albert arrived one day early to install because he knew what issues we were having being without the washing machine .

I would most highly recommend Mikes Appliances and Albert for any home appliance needs. They have earned a loyal customer with their patience and professionalism thank you again!

Was in need of a new wall mounted oven as my old one broke down. I contacted Mike's for a new oven as well as a new induction stove top. The entire process from purchase, measurement and installation was smooth and pleasant.

The initial installation of the oven ended up obstructing some of the drawers in my kitchen, Mike came out personally to look at it and worked hard on finding a solution for us. In the end we went with a slightly smaller oven and Mike's team also provided trims to cover the gaps.

Highly recommend Mike's appliances, you can expect honesty, efficiency, and warm professionalism from them!

My wife and I called to get my Frigidaire Dishwasher working again. It was filling up with water and not draining. It had an error code that disclosed the problem. Albert came at the promised time and was well prepared with all his tools and wet vacuum, however our factory kick plate was non-traditional and difficult to remove ( in order to pull out the dishwasher). Albert sorted it out with no problem. He figured out the part which was the likely cause of the water collection, and removed it from the drainage line. He thought it had gotten clogged up. He cleaned it out and tested the dishwasher and it worked fine. He explained that if it happens again, we should replace it and get a new part. We have 30 days warranty for the work in case that should happen. Albert was easy to communicate with about the repair, and has a pleasant personality. We highly recommend him and Mike's Appliances.

"Yeah right.. I'm gonna get my car repaired at a dealership. Huh! Why don't I just flush my money down the toilet?"
      -George Costanza, Seinfeld

Da Scene: 15+ old Kenmore clothes washer stops spinning & draining, showing Sud & F02, tried the internet fixes but it was time to call in pros. At 1st I'm Yelp!'ing repair outfits, but decided to call Mikes on a whim... they've installed 4 appliances in my home and I like to support local!

Da Issue: After a short chat they DO IN FACT repair stuff as well new installations - even things they didn't sell ya. Not everything, but my Kenmore happened to be a Whirlpool re-brand and they were happy to schedule & come out. Two techs arrive 2 days later and have the diagnosis LITERALLY in my hands in about 20 minutes (see pics). Apparently a self-inflicted wound, a little scrunchie made it all the way to the pump and seized it up. I will get A LOT of mileage teasing my girls about who took down our washing machine... neither the wife nor the daughter have copped to it yet! It took more time waiting for the machine to run through a couple of test cycles than the repair itself, the techs know what they are doing.

Da Service: Add professional and friendly to proficient, servicing appliances they didn't sell or install, quick scheduling, and clean departure - all adds up to a winner. Go to this "dealer" and you won't be sorry... Mike's RULES!

      Coin cup did it's job!
CULPRIT!! A little scrunchie made it to the pump and took down the Kenmore!
