Smash Burger, Chips and Karage Bao are all wows. Their dbl veggie patty has easily become my go-to veggie burger! A suggestion would be to allow modifications on Door Dash, ie: no pickles, no tomatoes - it saves both the produce waste and allows for omission preferences (like pickle juice seeping into the patty). The Chips are incredible. They are fried to crispy perfection with miso garlic butter. Damn! The Dan Dan Noodles look and smell delicious but were too spicy for my palate. To be fair, spicy is in the description - so that's on me. The Artichoke Mafalda Pasta and the Fish Tacos were so so. Something I wish that plant-based places did was to not describe items with animal names. Fish Tacos makes me immediately think of fish. Bottom line - this is one of my favourite plant-based places and now that I know what menu items I most enjoy I'll probably be ordering from them every other week!

Absolutely amazing. Found out about this place from a blog about the top vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Vancouver, so it made the top of our list when we were planning our vacation. Go there, and order everything that sounds tasty. You won't be disappointed. I'm still thinking about the Dan Dan noodles.

I was in Vancouver for the weekend and this place was a couple blocks from our stay. We choose to eat here because everything here is plant based which is perfect for my wife and friends who are all vegan (I'm not vegan though). From what I understanding the menu changes from time to time but is focused on creating vegan versions of international dishes. Before coming to this location I was hoping to try there Wellington but unfortunately that dish isn't on their current version.
Since it was our first time we bought a variety of dishes on the menu to get a feel for what this place offers. After trying all of the dishes we order I was a big fan of the Karage Boa and the Aburi Lox Oshi since they super flavorful unfortunately the other dishes were sort of basic. They all tasted yummy but compare to the other two mentioned the rest didn't have nearly has much wow factor.
Overall the food was great and the staff was amazing. William our server checked up on us multiple times and was very helpful. If we're ever in the area we will most likely come back!
For the non-vegans reading this the food was yummy and worth a try. Also I found it interesting how they manage to turn a Roma tomato slice into a slice of tuna!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 4, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
This was my second time in MILA, I was so impressed by their food the first time that I had to come back. Their entire menu is plant-based, and as someone who is not vegan... I LOVED IT! Fun fact, they are operated by Virtuous Pie!! I love the food here and the service, but I should say that it is a bit overpriced. They do have happy hour from 2-5pm, I think the next time I visit would be around that time.
Their space is very elegant with lots of plants and big windows and can fit a big group size. They also have an upper area that can be booked for private events. Now lets about their menu...
My biggest highlight here were their drinks, specifically their After The Rain cocktail. It had grapefruit rosemary cordial, tequila blanco, mint, and soda. If you are someone who likes sweeter drinks, this one's for you!! I was a bit disappointed with their lavender drink, it did not have a strong lavender flavour.
The first time I came here I was a fan of their Tuna Crispy Rice sushi which has watermelon akami tuna, sushi rice, lime kewpie mayo, green onion, and sesame seeds. The first time I had it, I remember it being super crispy and flavourful, however this time I was a bit disappointed. The crispy rice lacked the crispy-ness.
My second favourite dish here is their kaarage bao, super crispy and flavourful and good dish to share!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2024
MILA's entire menu is plant based. They are operated by the same team as Virtuous Pie, which has a location just around the corner here in Chinatown as well as in Portland (where I am from).
The restaurant's atmosphere is lovely - very bright with lots of windows and fun paint colors. Each table had fresh flowers on it, which was a nice touch. There is a mix of table and booth seating, as well as a bar.
It was not very busy when I went for a Wednesday lunch. Only one staff member was working, but she was attentive, and things came out in a very reasonable time.
It's tough to place a finger on any other theme to MILA's menu besides being plant based, as they have sushi, bao buns, potatoes, salads, hummus and kebab, burgers, pasta, and desserts.
We ordered the smashed potatoes to share. We could've used more of the mustard dipping sauce but I didn't ask so maybe they would have provided it. I got the mushroom and sausage tagliatelle. Not sure what kind of mushroom (button or crimini, perhaps) and I believe they use Tomorrow products for their meat replacement. I tried a bite of the watermelon sushi with crispy rice which was tasty. Everything was delicious, very flavorful.
I admit I felt a bit of sticker shock at the prices, although I did feel this way at most places in Vancouver, so perhaps it is simply how Canada is. They have a happy hour from 2-5pm daily so perhaps that is a good time to go if you are price conscious.
Looks like they host brunches, trivia nights, and wine Wednesdays. And you can book the entire space or the upper lounge for a private event.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Amazing flavors!
I've been trying to eat more plant based foods and saw that Mila was part of dine out Vancouver.
Their sushi appetizers were so flavorful and taste just like aburi!
We ordered the Wellington and the burger. Wow! I was shook. How was this all plant based!? Flavors on point and food is filling. The burger is a must try.
I ate here on Monday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Service was great and attentive.
Definitely cool vibes here and clean!
Can't wait to be back :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 19, 2023
Still an avid meat eater but I've been so impressed with the vegan spots I've checked out recently @milaplantbased offers vegan sushi (and for all the meat eaters reading this, I was also vvv apprehensive spending my money on this when I could spend it on aburi with real salmon but this blew my expectations out of the water )
1 Aburi Lox Oshi $15
2 Single Tuna Crispy Rice $4 (happy hour)
Can we take a moment to appreciate the texture on that (watermelon) akami 'tuna' in the second pic?!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1Business owner information

Everything we tried were tasty. Presentation was also elegant. However, it was difficult to eat with elegance when you have 8 inch long gailan (long green) with no knife provided. No napkins were provided either. Perhaps that's why we saw many to-go orders on the counter?

Thank you for the feedback Aden, you certainly should have been set with full cutlery and a napkin! We apologize for that and hope to see you again in the future!

Mila is outstanding! The food, flavours and service left us speechless. The Dan Dan Noodles were very good and spicy. We relished the taste explosion. We also got the Tofu Bao Buns and it was packed with umami.
The Aburi Lox Oshi Sushi Roll was amazing! Once more, the vegan sushi was shockingly tasty . An excellent vegan version of a salmon Aburi roll with lots of taste. The cocktails were equally exquisitely made. Great ambiance! I highly recommend MILA if you're in Vancouver as it'll blow your minds and palates away!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I was really looking forward to trying out Mila, especially because of their bao and taco fusion concept. I went for the Karaage Tofu Bao and the Char Siu Tacos. The bao was a winner for me -- the pickled cucumber perfectly complemented the flavors of the fried tofu, and I absolutely loved it. As for the Char Siu Tacos, it was an interesting experience. The addition of gai lan leaves was a surprise, as it's not something I often come across outside of China. However, I found the char siu "meat" to be a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, Mila is a solid spot, and I'd love to come back and try their brunch menu.
