Tasty is in the name as an accurate descriptor!

We were wandweing downtown Oakland and saw this place. Of course I scanned Yelp for a reccomendation and found this to look like an excellent value.

Hong Mei took care of us and consoled us when we found out that they'd just sold out of Phoenix Talon.

We happily stuffed our faces. We left with far bellies and still fat wallets after paying!

      Give it a try.

Two of my friends and I ran into this spot. It's like a local spot, busy and noisy. Don't let that fool you. The service was ok, I think they are very busy and have to keep moving, they did provide plenty of tea and the basics.

The food is spot on. We ended up ordering about 8 different plates. I definitely enjoyed the thousand fried shrimp ball, rice noodle roll with fried crispy shrimp, and the fried tofu skin wrap shrimp. Those dishes were so crispy!!! And juicy. Great flavoring the pork and shrimp dumplings are pretty much a home run as well.

Delicious food, in the heart of Chinatown Oakland. The bill was pretty light as well. Good food at an affordable price!

      Will definitely go back

When you're in Oakland and you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine, Ming's is the perfect choice!
Decor is original Chinatown mom and pope whole in the wall gem.
This is not panda express. No comparison!!!
Staff are very polite and communicate well in both English and Chinese.
The food comes out slowly and so worth the wait.
Their Dim Sum is spectacular. I'll be back !

Snowy BBQ pork Bun ( Bao) delicious must have.

How have I only discovered this place in my last week in Berkeley. I'd been craving dimsum for a while, and a friend introduced me to Ming's Tasty. As soon as I took a bite of the baked pork bun, pure bliss!!

Trying a bunch of small dishes ranging from $5-7 can add up, but honestly, everything is worth it. Every dish is packed to the brim with quality and flavor, and nothing ever misses. We ordered the baked pork bun, steamed pork bun, hargow, sticky rice and minced pork in lotus leaf, siumai, and egg custard buns. All 5/5's that I will still be thinking about three weeks from now.

Be sure to come early because they sell out of the baked pork buns fast, and the restaurant quickly fills up even on weekdays around noon.

Took my great nephew here for his first time at dim sum and he was shook!! He loved it and I love expanding his culinary horizons. He even tried things he normally wouldn't have eaten.

A true whole in the wall experience, when we arrived the decor was covered in wood and graffiti. we wouldn't have thought this was a restaurant if the door wasn't open.

We were seated promptly, as enter. Staff were very friendly. We saw a ton of Asian uncles and aunties. To me, that's always a good sign of good dimsum. They usually know where the best ones are. You want tasty and affordable.

They had clay pot rice!! We had to order this dish.
We also ordered ha gao, Siu Mai, some buns and chicken feet. All were pretty good. We left so full.

It's still as good as they say it is.

Custard buns ARE TO DIE FOR. all dim sum was fairly large portions. XLB was balanced, chicken feet wasn't too oily and was easy to eat, the Jasmine tea kept on coming and the service was on point

Every time I think about Oakland, I think about this restaurant. It's become a favorite for me and my sister and we were so excited to come back!
The food came out hot, and tasted fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the Choy Sum, and the Deep Fried Tofu Skin Wrapped Shrimp. Don't forget to add their amazing chili oil, amazing spice and flavor!
Service was great, food came out in a timely manner and was quick to grab us anything we needed. For seating, they have both booths and tables. For how busy it was, it wasn't as noisy as you'd think. We can talk with no issues with our surroundings! Seriously can't wait to come back!

Wonderful dim sum lunches while at work. Closed Wednesdays. Place is always crowded and the food comes out really quick. The shrimp dumplings, and the pork dumplings have wonderful flavor. Steamed bbq buns are a little on the small side in my opinion.

If you order take out, it generally takes 20-30 minutes to come out so plan accordingly. If you choose to eat there, getting there at noon results in a 20-30 min wait.

Shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp dumplings, and steamed BBQ pork buns - all for $21.
