      MISO TACO

Hands down the best tacos in the city!!!

My friend recently took me to @misotacoco in Chinatown and it was an experience for my taste buds.

Miso Taco is a Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant that is serving up the best tacos in town. Their menu consists of a variety of appetizers, bowls, tacos, and brunch! My friend and I only ordered tacos and dessert that day but she assured me that everything else on the menu was just as good.

The team at Miso Taco are true wizards. I never would have thought to incorporate Japanese flavours with Mexican food; and was pleasantly surprised at how well the flavours complimented each other.

Another memorable component of our meal were their house-made salsas. They offer a range of salsas from non-spicy to super spicy. We chose 4 different salsas (each order of taco comes with your choice of salsa) and they were all amazing. The spicy salsas were not just spicy for the sake of being spicy, each one was super flavourful and paired well with all the tacos.

Needless to say, I have to go back to try their brunch menu.

Have you guys checked out this new hidden gem yet?

      Miso Taco 8/10
Your classic fish taco with miso dressing. The cod was super tender and fried to perfection.

      Tuna Tataco 10/10
The BEST tuna taco I've had in Vancouver. The tuna was super fresh and not fishy at all, the wasabi mayo added the perfect kick.

      Talk-a-Taco 7/10
Think calamari in a taco. The flavours were delicious but the octopus was a bit chewy. Still delicious though!

      Chashu Style Carnita Tacos 10/10
Tender, flavourful, not too heavy, and oh-so-umami. This was my favourite taco of the day. The pineapple relish gave just enough acidity to balance out the greasy goodness of the chashu.

      Kinako Mochi Churro 10/10
Freshly made churros tossed in cinnamon sugar and pairs with grilled mochi. Need I say more?

Love this spot, difinitely a bit of a "not so hidden" gem. The combination of japanese flavours with mexican food works extremely well. Recommend the teriyaki tacos and the birria-dilla.
Make sure to ask for diegos salsa if you like spicy.

Service was great and the restaurant is a very relaxed ambiance.
Will be coming back for sure.

Lovely neighbourhood spot that blends Japanese flavours with Mexican cuisine, a burst of flavours. Went during happy hour and got their taco and beer deal for $20!* I love spicy anything and the waitress recommended the spiciest salsa (Diego's salsa) which was amazing, a full heat spicy mayonnaise type sauce. The tacos were so flavourful, they nailed the flavour combination.

*the liquor tax was charged on the full $20 combo

      MISO TACO

I finally had time to revisit my favourite taco spot of all time--and it did not disappoint

They just released a ton of new menu items, and even added a patio for the season! This retro arcade anime themed taco spot is also the perfect place for large groups and fun dates.

I got to try out their new Baby Shrimp Taco and it's definitely been added to my "must-order" list. My other fav tacos are the Chasu Taco, Attako on Taco, and Tuna Tatacco. Their Kinako & Churros is also a must for dessert, and you have to check out their cocktail menu for the coolest drinks (psst--they even have adult slushies now).

Their house made salsas also don't get the spotlight it deserves, so make sure you order all variety of them to find your favourite.

Atmosphere and vibes were very nostalgic with Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto playing from the TVs, and a Street Fighter Capcom arcade machine for customers to play.

Service was great, staff were friendly and helpful with answering our questions about the different salsa sauces.

Food delivery was fairly quick and delicious! Our favourite was definitely the Birria-Dilla with the warm, melty cheesiness. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hip and nostalgic place to eat!

Love the idea of a fusion between Japanese and Mexican flavors Came here in a Saturday night and ordered 4 dishes. We ordered 3 tacos: chasu pork carnitas, octopus and chicken karrage. We also ordered the birria-dilla. All were delicious but my favs were the chasu pork carnitas and birria-dilla! The birria-dilla had a crunchy outside that beautifully complemented the gooey goodness on the inside Would recommend getting avocado salsa - I personally would get it for everything next time

Also loved the old school touch of sailor moon, yugi-oh and Naruto playing on the screen in the background...reminds me of childhood The arcade machine with street fighter playing in the background was also a nice nostalgic touch Overall would definitely come back and recommend!

Very tasty. Unique spin on familiar Mexican faves, blended with Asian flavors. If you're skeptical, don't be, it totally works. Chashu tacos were excellent, but the Birria-dilla was the start of the show. Price point served in the high side, until I realized the servings were larger than your average mexican place, so take that into account with respect to hunger level...

      Taco 'bout a flavor fiesta!

Miso Taco is where Mexican meets Japanese in a delicious explosion. Try their unique fillings, we're loving the vibes (and the food!) Don't forget to sip on a refreshing Lychee Spritz and devour those Kimchi Nacho Fries. Plus, the Birria Dilla is a must-order.

      We ordered:
Kimchi Nacho Fries $14 + Burris $3, Birria-Dilla $17 + Ramen $3, Teriyaki Cheesy Taco $18, Teriyaki Taco Bowl w/ Chicken $17, Kinako Mochi & Churros $9, Banana Tempura Ice Cream $9, Lychee Spritz $15, Sake to Ya $16

We went for my dad's birthday and he loved it. I would highly recommend going with a group of friends as they have large tables that can easily accommodate 6-10 people

Miso Taco is located in Chinatown, close to where the historic Vie's Chicken and Steak House used to be.

Google that & take notice of the Hendrix connection & the history of this particular area of Chinatown.

This area has its share of challenges though, so if you do come down here just be aware of your surroundings!

MT is a fusion of Japanese & Mexican flavours.

A very cool chill out themed interior, with cool tunes playing in the background.

Main reason for popping in - came to try out the Birria-Dilla, MTs version of Quesabirria.

Had to flag a waiter down to get someone to take our order.

Would recommend better communication or have a host that can run the floor better.

Started with the Chips (crunchy Shrimp flavour) & Guac with Avocado Salsa - a flavourful delightful twist.

The Birria-Dilla had seasoned soft to chew beef Birria & gooey cheese.

The consume was different from what I've had before. With other types of consume that I've had, one could slurp it all up at the end like soup.

The consume here at MT not so much. It's hard to describe but seemed more heavy in oil which will clog up the arteries.

So no slurping up this consume unfortunately.

Got the Kinako Mochi & Churros for dessert - very chewy gooey yummy.

MT is a great addition to the neighbourhood.

Visiting town and decided to give this place a shot since I saw it on tiktok. This was probably one of my fav Japanese Mexican fusion places i've tried. The food was amazing, but the birria dilla was a little too cheesy. We came during happy hour and the beers that were offered were good and i'm not a beer drinker. We also tried the churro mochi dessert and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and efficient. Def recommend this place if you're in town!!

Happy 1st year anniversary to this unexpected gem of a place! Located just on the edge of Vancouver's Historical Chinatown, Miso Taco delivers on Asian inspired Mexican cuisine like no other.

Tako Taco, Birria with Ramen, KimChi Fries... and the hits just keep coming. His summer feature menu has baby shrimp taco that has me going back to my roots!

Chef Diego is passionate about everything - most of all, he is passionate about his customers. He wants everyone to have an amazing experience and the couple of times I've been there so far, it will definitely be my go to place every time I'm out in the west.

Food, drinks, vibes - all on point, the staff is amazing and they all really love their boss. Diego has something going on and whatever his mojo is, it's infectious. You just feel good being there. AND YOU SHOULD TOO!

Goes on my list of DEFINITE MUST TRY in YVR!
