    • Q:

My wife and I are interested in visiting in early April, and would like to bring our kids (ages 11, 9 and 5). Is that permitted, and if so, what's your recommendation for the game that'd be most suitable. Also, are there child costs?

      A:

We love having families visit us! Since you'll be coming together, the children will be allowed entry with no problem. Admission is a flat rate for participants, and the total depends on your headcount… more

    • Q:

One of our group has Covid. But we bought the whole room. The rest of the 9 ppl are coming. Since all the rooms are private no one else would've been sold that space. Is it possible to get a refund for just that person?

      A:

My husband and I went to this escape room for our anniversary and it was so fun! The people who work there are fun and helpful took pictures of us. We didn't make it out the room on time will definitely go back and try to beat the time!

I'm one of Mission Escape Games oldest customers. I have played every single game dating back to their first game in 2014.

Mission is a incredibly consistent company, getting better with each subsequent game. I love their games and treasure the experiences that I have had with this company.

The Mission team even helped me propose to my wife, for which I will always be grateful.

I strongly recommend checking them out.

We had a big group so it was important to me that everyone had things they could do (instead of some folks standing around watching everyone). So here on Yelp, I asked about which is the most nonlinear game and the owner answered. Based on his recommendation we did the Carbon room.

We had a great time! Admittedly at the very beginning there was a little bit of "some folks doing most of the things and others watching". But part of that was due to us not really knowing what we needed to be doing! But once we got into the heart of the game, we really did need everyone to work on things. Nine of us went and there was something for everyone to contribute towards solving the room There were a lot of different types of components, so that helped make it interesting: electronic parts, physical activities, video clues, audio clues, and old school puzzles. It definitely took skills from the whole team. I'm honestly curious how anyone could do this particular room with a tiny group! There's so much that needs to be worked on during the timeframe.

It was challenging but we finally got it (thanks to the cluemaster's help)! We made it with no time to spare!

I do have a suggestion: they should have props/signs so people can hold them up when they take pictures in front of the backdrop at the end. I've seen that at other escape rooms. But that's not a big deal. Another small critique is that there are some puzzle pieces that are somewhat worn (particularly around the edges), so it made it a little difficult to match the pieces/patterns and we wasted some time trying to figure out how they fit together.

Nevertheless, the overall experience was very cool. It was a really fun group activity for my birthday! I'd totally go again!

      Updated review

4 years later, I have returned to Mission Escape Games after doing more escape rooms in NYC. My friend and I did Escape the Hydeout. We had an amazing experience, and I felt more thrills since we both actively solved the puzzles. We went on a weekday, so it was $80 for a private room (huge plus), so $40/person, which is expensive, but we understand that it gets cheaper the more people you have. One thing to keep in mind while booking: I am the biggest scaredy-cat, and some of the sound effects combined with the dimly lit room made me scared. Just an FYI for other people who sympathize.

The pros: The puzzles at this franchise make a lot of sense. I've been to other escape rooms where there is no logical connection to what unlocks what. I also like that their locks vary in type, and some cool technology is applied. The room also doesn't follow the typical linear pattern, which provides a level of challenge that I enjoyed. The scene is well done and immersive.

The cons: I do not like that the room is not well-lit, and you cannot use a phone flashlight. Maybe some people think looking at things in dim light enhances the experience, but I think the room's challenge would not be compromised will SLIGHTLY better lighting. There were also several times where I asked for a hint, and the moderator would not be responsive. This wasted a few minutes of time, and there were things that I could've been working on that were not what my friend was working on. There was also an area of the room not in view of the hint board, so if they ever redesign this room, I think the time and hint board should be visible at any given point.

I know visually my cons looks longer than the pros, but the puzzles making sense is such a huge plus that it outweighs the cons. We were told that we could attempt their Cyberpunk Carbon room with 2 people, but that would bring the price to $45, which is pricey. Since I did Operation End of Days 4 years ago, it seems like there isn't too much change in the rooms, so hopefully they can get more space with different rooms. I also wish they gave discounts for returning customers. Overall, if you go with a smaller group, you will have a great experience!

Fun games! Liked Jekyll and Hyde the most but all 3 they currently offer are fun. All 3 gamemasters we interacted with were friendly too

Came here for a work event. Had a fun time! The people who work here are really nice and friendly. They explained the room great and we escaped!! I bought a water bottle for $2. Definitely recommend. It can be a little hard to find because it is in a larger fancy building, which I was not expecting at all.

Came here for a birthday event. Back to back missions for a Sunday. Awesome experience! We did the 2 Sci fi /dungeon rooms and finished! Great way to get around with friends. I had a party of 8-10 people for each room and everyone does get involved with the puzzles. Multi tasking through each puzzle helps. The most difficult room they had, we finished till the last second. Would definitely love to come back for their other missions.

Getting here is odd I know, you enter through a small elevator lobby to this floor.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly didn't. The End of Days escape room was so so so boring!! The interior was beyond underwhelming and didn't add to the theme which had a lot of potential. The puzzles were mediocre. My friend and I were able to escape easily. Staff is nice but their energy or excitement levels before and after the game could've been higher.

Took my son and his friend group to celebrate his 18th birthday. Front desk employee was very friendly and helpful. She sounded just like her telephone voice which was very professional and let me know she was dedicated to giving good customer service. Game room employees added a personal touch by presenting my son a birthday card that was hand signed by all employees present that day. They were patient and professional with our big group (of course we had to be broken up!). I highly recommend this place!

Went with the family and had a great time!!! Played End of Days A, great game design! Would go back for other games!
Every game is private, that is a big plus! We got out with just over 10 minutes left, woohoo!!
