I love this park. Very cool place to hang out during the summer when it's warm. There's a water play structure area where kids can run in and play in the water. The best part is that it's free!!!

Forget Dolores Park. Locals know this is the go-to playground for littles in the Mission. Reasons:
      1. Playground is fenced and sight lines are good.
      2. Bathrooms. With flush toilets. Usually not gross.
      3. Play structure challenges kids of varying ability levels. There's something for everyone!
      4. Very very close to Craftsman and Wolves. OK maybe that is a reason that only resonates for me personally.

Quite a fun playground that's hiding behind main streets like Valencia. My kid had a lot of fun here. There's soccer field and tennis courts too!

We chanced upon this park as the Dolores Park Hellen Diller Playground was undergoing renovation. But this was a great place for the little ones! It's enclosed and had plenty of playsets for the smaller kids. Our little one enjoyed the little train play set. There's a bathroom that's clean right next to the playground areas as well as tennis courts, a pool. For a small footprint, it packs a large punch and is a great neighborhood addition to the Mission.

At the Mission playground it's wonderful spot place to hang out. They got the club house, tennis court, soccer area, children fun playground, the public restroom is very nice.

Some time, whenever I have time, I will come over & watch a grown up or kids playing soccer or tennis & it's very entertaining in a very good way.

It's just my honest opinion & I'm just saying!!! Overall it's all super GOOD!!!

Mission Playground reminds me a lot of the Mission District itself. There's all kinds of stuff going on; every nook and cranny is being used for something different; there are murals everywhere, and streets and houses seem to pop out of nowhere; people live and play and work all at the same time, and it's hard to tell how people are feeling just by looking at them.

This is a spectacular place for people-watching, especially on a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The adult soccer games can get intense, but it's fun to watch the kids play too. Normally, I'm not a big proponent of encouraging people to spend too much time watching strangers' kids in public, but Mission Playground is one of those parks that just feels fun. You can walk around with whomever you're with, and even if you don't have a reason to be here, the weather and the unusual setup just draw you in.

What's with the back of the park? It's hard to tell how that street, those murals, and the fencing got incorporated into the park, and I'm sure there's a long and detailed history of local park politics that is way more heated than it is interesting to anyone who doesn't live or play soccer here. I'm glad the NIMBYs didn't win, in this case at least.

The Mission District is all of San Francisco's backyard. We should treat it with respect and remember that just because some recently arrived people have money doesn't mean they have a right to destroy existing close-knit neighborhood communities that are disappearing because of that very same money. Real-estate interests, gentrification, and greedy companies are ruining our city. Come to Mission Playground and just enjoy something that is free and fun. You might learn something about people you don't normally think about.

Plan extra time for parking if arriving by car. I've found it helpful to park closer to South Van Ness and then walk from there.

Pretty well thought out playground and sports grounds in otherwise cramped space. You have a little bit of everything here as well as lots of little spots nearby to grab drinks, snacks, and whatnot.

For soccer, all the families are left to stand (or set up camp chairs) along the low south fence. And if you happen to be there on a hot day, the nearby water squirting thing is great for a post-game cool down.

Pretty good San Francisco public park. With a few tennis courts and a basketball court, children's jungle gym, a building that seems empty. It's not any different from Lawton park in the Sunset. Small neighborhood parks that have enough to offer in a big city. It's near Dolores Park tennis courts and park but it's separate. It's off Valencia near 19th and it's hard to find. The tennis court was open, played tennis, but the sundial was too glaring and the sun was shadowed or too bright. Fun to adventure to parks. Hadn't been to this one. In the mission, feels like a small resort.

A few Saturdays ago, my Son and I came into the City for a 1-Day Earthwatch Expedition in conjunction with the Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF). On a glorious SF day, we started at Dolores Park and probably walked 5-6 miles while measure the circumference of lots of trees and otherwise evaluating their overall health. We had a wonderful time and as far as the exercise went, this was great training for a proposed 2014 Camino Portugués adventure.

Our small Team stopped at the Mission Playground for Lunch. We brown bagged it and we were fortunate to find enough shaded bench space right next to the "water park". It was all very pleasant and relaxing. We were also appreciative of the clean restrooms and overall vibe of the entire Playground and Pool Complex (including the children's birthday parties). There was also a lot of neat people watching and a cool sense of urban joy for having the privilege of living in this magical part of the US of A.

An astounding array of water features and things that twirl until you're ready to puke.
I feel really weird about going into the park - cause there's this big sign about needing a child to enter the park. Thing is I don't plan on reproducing but I do like parks. Usually on hot days, I'll casually enter from Valencia Street, talking jovially to an imaginary child. I dip my head under the big water dropping thing and get my hair wet. Then me and my imaginary child head out to Dolores Park.
