Momo Sushi

Quick service, friendly staff, sushi was great and priced fairly. Only negative was the sashimi was average.

Wasted a lot of time driving here only to find out they were closed on Monday. Their signage even says they're open. Just sloppy. Wouldn't come back.

5 Stars for the quality of the sushi!

We just arrived from Calgary and after checking into our Air BnB we went hunting for sushi. A 2:45 in the afternoon, most places were closed. Momo was open, 4.6 Stars, a 1km walk... why not.

If you're from out of town, I think Momo used to be a house... with a living room/dining room converted into in-store dining.

The two people running it... super nice. The menu, creative, perfectly explaining what was in everything.

They were out of salmon. That was the only sad part. The quality of what we did have was excellent.

Loved the Momo Roll & Rainbow Roll.
Tuna Nigiri... excellent.
The spicy tuna tuna was awesome - they mix the tuna with their spicy sauce vs just squirting the spicy sauce on top of the roll.

The rice held perfectly, without any vinegar taste.

It wouldn't be fair to describe the place as a "little hole in the wall," tiny, yes. Character, tonnes.

Best sushi in town. BEST korokke I've ever had in my life... (*eats in car, unable to resist waiting until I get home*)

****If you are asking yourself 'what is this 'karokke' she speaks of?' ....just do yourself a favour and order it because no descriptive words could possibly do it justice (especially with the sauce they make in house...like ALL of their 'from scratch' sauces )***

Great food and very kind staff. They even gave us a big box to carry our sushi back to our hotel, and edamame on the house. Would visit again!

We went here in the mood for a good avocado role and were a bit disappointed. The avocados were not ripe yet which made them subpar and the water was not cold. In addition to this, the ground was sticky in most places which was weird. Overall if you are interested in getting sushi we preferred nubo tapas much more ( though it comes at a bit higher price)

Have been going to this place for many years. The Bentos are a great deal. Yum yum. We used to go after curling, now we usually order it to go. Best Japanese deal in town. Yes we are close to Fujiya but the boxes are a better deal and more varied.

3.5/5 a nice little sushi joint that is conveniently located downtown. Fairly priced for Victoria and they use sockeye salmon for their sashimi instead of the usual Chinook. The tuna sashimi was especially delicious with very little of the signature fishy flavour.

The prawn tempura was crispy but a bit too oily for my taste. The spicy scallop roll came with crispy bits battered in a mixture of what seemed like mayonnaise and spicy sauce. I was a little sad at getting less scallop but the texture really made up for it. The roll had a satisfying crunch.

The nigiri dish was plenty filling on it's own with each type of fish being very fresh, although a bit thinner than I'm used to in Vancouver. The tamago nigiri was way sweeter than usual so I was glad that I saved it for last. The Victoria roll is basically house roll that's been topped with several different type of tobiko on each piece. The green one is a mixture of wasabi so beware!

The servers were friendly but you do need to place your order at the counter. It's a to go place so don't go in demanding exceptional service.

Definitely the BEST sushi I had in Victoria! I love the fried spicy tuna roll!! Highly recommended!!!

This is owner operated little diner. It has only 5-6 little tables, so cannot accommodate a lot of people. Also because of such a small space, cooking smell is all in dining area, BUT don't let any of that to discourage you! I was discouraged myself at first, but when my food started coming to my table, I forgot it all immediately! Food is absolutely amazing at great prices. Highly recommended. Udon soup is absolutely delicious. Seared tuna salad is melting in your mouth. This place is a must to visit
