Decent park with views of the city. It's pretty much a dog park thanks in part to the city not doing any maintenance on it whatsoever. It's sad that this is the only walkable green park for those near Grove Street.

My dog likes to swim in the water (as do other dogs) and I was pleasantly surprised when a fifth and sixth leg began growing, which aid him when he is chasing a ball or some geese.

Having stayed in Paulus Hook for the last two years, I discovered this park by chance during one of my evening walks with my partner. Ever since then, we've visited this place for an evening walk pretty often [apart from the freezing winters].

To be honest, this is more of a dog park rather than an actual park and you'll typically find lots and lots of them in the evenings. None the less, I bet you won't be able to find a park in jersey City that gives you such beautiful views of downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River and lets you get as close to the water. There's a bench within the park that's hidden from plain sight but an absolute delight if you discover it :). Besides, a walk here is much more pleasant than perhaps the Boardwalk with much better views. There's also a Korean War Memorial at the foot of the park with a bit of history attached to it.

The sole negative that I can call out is the fact that the park isn't as well maintained and can be pretty shabby sometimes.

Lovely park where my family goes to host memorials for my mom and brother. Super family friendly, dog friendly.

This little strip of land has grown on me since my move to Paulus Hook. I've taken one star off due to the city's (or state?) lack of maintenance, but still find it enjoyable for the Paulus Hook area.

You have a beautiful view of the NY Skyline, it's s nice walk up and around the peninsula, and you're surrounded by lots of dogs on the weekends to get your dog therapy on.

For runners, you can now include it on MapMyRun as we got it added as a running path. Or, just run!

Compared to the Exchange Place Boardwalk, it's the same view, possibly even better, but with grass! As well, you can walk on the rocks right to the water and touch it if you care to that is.

It's relaxing, and while not fully a park, I appreciate its history and contribution to the neighborhood.

FYI - the memorial at the foot of it is the Korean War Memorial, so pay your respects.

This would be 5 stars since it has a feeling of a park from yesteryear with some of the most breathtaking views of NYC.

But most people use it as a dog park. Many of the patrons are respectful keeping their dogs on a leash but others allow their dogs to run wild. Families with kids should not have to be concerned about a dog running up to a child or an adult without being properly controlled on a leash.

I am aware dog lovers will not appreciate this but we need to share space and respect each other.

It's not really a park park. It's more of an underdeveloped, grassy area past the Colgate Clock. Lots of dog people come here and walk their dogs (or let them go unleashed). It's less crowded than the boardwalk, so it's a place to get a break from all the people. Plus, you still get nice views of NYC, specifically lower Manhattan. One tip: late summer/fall, consider carrying a little bug spray bottle, especially if you walk further into the green toward the direction of Liberty House by those apartments (it gets mad buggy).

Performed an elopement ceremony At Morris Canal Park in May 2020. The park has a perfect view of the Liberty State Park, The Colgate Palmolive sign, as well as a spectacular view of New York City. The ground needs a little work, but overall it was a perfect place for pictures.

The perfect low-key dog park. I hope it never changes. Everybody gets along and every weekend it's full of kids and dogs.

People looking for a more manicured experience-- please realize the entire rest of the city is there for you. This is about the only place within a mile of Paulus Hook where there's anything approaching ungroomed nature.

Morris Canal Park was unbeknownst to me until only recently, but I'm very glad to have discovered this little area. It's a very relaxing, peaceful park where you can take a short stroll, jog, take photos, walk your dog, sit back, enjoy the views, etc. Not sure if it's the best place for picnics though. Grass lands seems to be slightly unkept, and I don't believe there are any tables around. They have a lot of bench seating though, wide open areas of grass for outdoor activities, and breath-taking views of Manhattan across the water. This park also includes a dog park -- I saw plenty of dogs running around and about freely on my first visit. Right in the heart of Paulus Hook, it's in a wonderful, neighborhood friendly part of JC and only a few blocks away from the light rail station and by great local bars/restaurants. With a little more TLC, this park would certainly draw more residents. Make sure to also take a moment to observe the Korean War Memorial adjacent to the park as well.

My house lawn is bigger and cleaner than this "park".

It's a place for locals to walk their dogs when they have to go poo poo.

I've seen yuppies try to do yuppie things here...and fail. No, you should NOT play Ultimate Frisbee here, dum dum...it's tiny and dog/goose-crap filled.

      Yah, I said it...poo poo.
